I won this a while back, and i mean damn 1011 HP! i wuz happy, until I took it for the max speed where it makes out an 220sum....PLUS it just dusnt wanna steer.....takin it that it is a drag car, i dont mind the steerin bein of....but wut r yall thoughts on this car.....definitiely didnt live up to my expectations

funny cars (as they are called) have more in the vicinity of 3000-3500 horsepower - that's why the HKSs (seem to) suck.

there are 2 cars in the game. a 180sx and an R33GTR

but its a cheat car. it shouldnt have been in the game.

it has power but it also has the ability to be a race car when tuned properly. its unfair to use the escudo against cars of 700hp or less.

a cheat car? u win it by winning a certain race.....thats not really a cheat, and were talkin bout the 180sx, the R33 dusnt have 1000+ HP i durn think, at least mine dusnt....and in a straight line (me and my friend drag race on like every straight away of every track) and i thought it wud be faster in a straight line.....the escudo and the speed 12, and 5 other cars beat it....

its top speed before any tuning was 220.....yikes for a 1000+ HP car stock, the car not bein stock...but stock meanin how we recived it when we won it in this case

It steers like the Titanic.

Woo Hoo! 250,000 Credits....that's what I think!

me too.

the drag 180sx can go much faster than 220mph, and if you think it cant, just mess with the settings.
i would rather have the 250,000 crd

Me three.

I took it on the test course and knew it wasn't for me. But I like sports cars. If the game had a drag strip then maybe it'd make sense. Fastest or not, it sucks. Oh, and it's fugly as hell. It actually upsets me to behold.

I would expect more from a 1011hp car. I mean, its acceleration sucks, it tops out at around 349kph/218mph without tuning. It steering sucks but its only meant to go in a straight line anyway. If it had Escudo like acceleration, GT-ONE top speed and the ability to turn a corner I'd love this car.

I like the R33 Drag better than the 180SX for the simpler eason being I can get a better top speed out of the R33 because I can get the car outside of Laguna Seca.

The regular/street GT-R's beat the 60ft times of every car (HKS drag cars included) in the game.

I think Polyphony Digital f'd up the "physics" of the HKS cars. For over 1k hp and nearly that much tq, the cars should blast off the line much faster than they do.

They are much better in the 1000M time trial, but even then, I think my '97 R390 has the record.

They both have the same hp, but the R33 is a lot heavier than the 180. My 180 tops out at 501kph/311mph. It also holds my "official" top speed record at 280 something mph, by wallriding, which is cheating, I know, but that's just the way life goes.

You can also beat the 180 at the Test course race in the Escort rally car, but only just. It's a damn good battle sometimes

The acceleration is due to lower torque values. I'm guessing a twin-turbo V12 (the very thought is insane!) takes some time to spool up maximum thrust, and thus not as quick off the line.

Note that the '97 300ZX GT-S has the highest torque value for any non-modded car, and the Vector W8 Twin Turbo has the greatest absolute torque value (715 lb-ft!) when fuly modded. That's the secret to making that 3000+lb monster a winning proposition.

It's one of my favorites, sometimes. Using about 350-450 hp makes for a close race to the finish. I've noticed the HKS 180SX is very hard to pass entering in the 2nd turn of the 3rd lap (anyone else notice this?).

But some odd cars have stolen victory from the HKS, a fully tuned Lancia Delta, for example. It's also fun to put a song that's only 2 and a half minutes on to see if you can cross the line just as the song winds down.
