For a game that touts itself as being "The Real Driving Simulator", I don't think there's a place for any imaginary car in the game, period. If it's been built and run in the real world, certainly, otherwise get it gone.
And while I'm at it, let's lose all those useless ancient rides as well. Kubelwagon? Really? What's the point in having that in my garage?
PD needs to punch in some real world data and include more actual cars. Notice that Oldsmobile was excluded? Lincoln? There's just so many actual cars out there that weren't included in the game that could be, why bother with the imaginary crap?

God I hope not. In my opinion, that car is just pointless. Its a nightmare to drive (unless you devote 99% of your gaming life with it) and I've read reports where its actually burned up or ruined a few steering wheels, even with FFB on 1.

But wheel users cant use it because of garbage FFB that destroys our wheels :(

JTV- Its not a ground effects car.... Its a sucker car. Ground effects is a shaped instead of a flat bottom.
Examples- Ground effects

I do very much like that brabham, I was simply referring to the ferrari which has been designed without a fan and would probably need more redesigning to include fan than ground effect which can be just as effective but more dangerous.

That brabham may have won it's one and only race but it didn't qualify first. I think brabham went on to win the championship anyway with it's ground effect version.

Gran Turismo has had many self designed fictional cars in every full release. FTO LM/Super Touring, RX-7 LM, Impreza LM, Formula Gran Turismo, Nismo Skyline Z-Tune(prototype tuned parts, Z-Tune? one of them anyway) etc. etc. I very much like all of these cars and would feel that it wasn't GT without them.

The difference being those are based on vehicles that do exist and could even be replicated by privateer racing teams, aside from the FGT unless F1 goes back to its crazy days.

The X2010/2011 is a what-if car from scratch, and one that was given FAR too much attention for what it's worth, which is why I didn't dislike the Nike 2022. It wasn't real, but it was just... there.

Yes, but it won't really be focused on.. I'm sure it will go into the Gran Turismo section of the dealer and share the popularity of the 350ZGT alongside it in the dealer, which is low.. I think PD will move on and create something new, and less stupid..

I like the X1 simply because it is a what-if car with design inputs from one of the greatest modern day F1 designers.
If the X1 had as many races it could compete in as the Ferrari F1 or even the Nike 2022 then there probably wouldn't be as much fuss about the car as there has been. It is basically a cheat car for any race save the Vettel Challenge and online X1 only rooms. I simply choose not to use it except for the occasional t.t run.

Simple Question. I think not because of PD's track record with self designed cars (cough...NIKE One 2022 cough...)
The Nike One was developed by Phil Frank, not Polyphony. The reason the car is not in GT5 is probably due to Nike & Polyphony no longer collaborating together.

It's always nice to be there, but it will have little use to me. It's simply too good. Flaws make cars great, and that goes for both video game and real life. I'd rather have a PD Prototype (LM) than another extreme, non-restricted, fan car.

Remember when the Mazda 787b was the dominant car? It was fast, but not overkill as there were cars that can beat it.

I never had it in GT3 or GT4 if you are referring to those games.

In real life the 787b wasn't actually as fast as it's competitors at Le Mans, great reliability and a deal of luck secured it's victory. Still the most awesome Group C car ever made in my opinion. The rotary pulse makes the thing sound like it's actually alive.

I really think pd should make a fanless version to make it more f1 like. Imagine the greatness of new 1500 bhp f1 cars with a v6? Would be amazing.

No reason for it not to be really. It's not the car's fault that a portion of it's user's are idiots online, and it's most certainly not the community as a whole's problem if you find it boring in single player.

I would like to see it, or an evolution of it at least, in the next game. Maybe take away the fan (or allow it to be disabled). The one thing I would love to see though is a plain black version of though. No logos. No decals. Only headlights and taillights to break up the monochomatic theme.

I think the X1 should be included in the game. It may not be "real", but it definitely is a way of testing true racing skills. The reason people think the X1 is a stupid car and it's too fast is because they haven't put in the time to drive it cleanly. If you are good enough to drive the car cleanly then the car handles just the way it should and just as real physics would have it. It just takes a lot of practice to be able to even drive the car without it going everywhere.

You don't know how badly I want this car to be in Gran Turismo 6. Getting back on topic, I really hope the Red Bull X1 doesn't show up in Gran Turismo 6 because it's ruined Gran Turismo 5 more than enough.

EDIT: Maybe it's possible to have it in the game without ruining it by having it classed as a 'Special Car', just like in Gran Turismo 4. You can still own it, but you can't take it online or in races.

I think the X1 and the prototype will be included, but there may also be a GT6-exclusive version as well.

A Red Bull X2 perhaps: twin-fan technology, 2000bhp and a 400mph top speed? :P

I believe so, seeing as I guess they'll be reusing GT5s car models and wouldn't want to waste any... anything to up the car number.

It depends 100% on whether Red Bull want it in the game, so probably not. We'll probably get a replacement for it, though; possibly done purely by PD.

It is too fast to be useful in anything but a one make series (S. Vettel challenge, for example).

Why? What better car is there to use for experimenting with drafting, as a chase car, or for use in unique events like uneven lap races (one car does 1 lap for every 5 that another car does, etc). There's no point to ruining the game with pointless restrictions.

The X1 should stay, it's the only car in its class and GT5's physics didn't do it justice. Projects like the X1 are one of the many benefits of simulators where you can try extreme things that would take too much effort to recreate in reality. However, at this point no one knows if the X1 or any similar car will ever be seen again.

Remember when the Mazda 787b was the dominant car? It was fast, but not overkill as there were cars that can beat it.

Who cares. If something is so fast as to be untouchable, do a one make race. It's that simple. Why aren't people crying to have the FGT removed from the game?

Replace the red bull with something more realistic..... the diahatsu midget....... with the same red bull engine! Think about it, it will be fast, but so unbelievably terrifying that all 5 year olds that use it in online lobbies won't use it.

I hope that the Red Bulls return, or if they are not included in GT6 allow you to import them from GT5. I'd like to see a few more X2010/11 type cars from different manufacturers and have a race series for them. X1GP? Also a filter should available in online lobbies to stop people using the X cars.

I think it will be but don't think it should be. Get rid of the fake cars. Fantasy tracks I can deal with but cars should be all actual cars.

Hey, I didn't know that the GT6 forum existed 8 months ago

No, it has only been created about 1-4 days ago from what I can recall. But all the posts in the Gran Turismo 5 forums have been moved to the new GT6 forum for convenience and to avoid the GT5 forums going off-topic.
