With all the talk of the lap boundaries on the forum. I have got to thinking. Can there be a thread which shows the real fastest laps where laps are kept within the confines of the kerbs without cheating. People could post videos of fastest laps

Your best bet for that is to go look for WRS winners videos... WRS is run under a strict set of rules, and there are some very fast drivers running it.

It's in this section of the forum...

Should have rephrased that the black stuff between the red and white bits, or between the white lines

Both the game and WRS run very similar track limits where you have to have 2 wheels on track and kerb is track, they only differ in that the game has a few exceptions where you can go beyond those limits, mostly on the exits of certain corners. For example, this is (barely) within legal track limits for WRS and I used the games penalty system to know when I was within track limits as they were virtually identical to what was allowed for the time trial;

Oh and @Crazybutt198 top drivers are perfectly capable of setting "real" fastest laps and at the right tracks you'll even see them in sport mode, like this lap at Big Willow.

Youre right I'm sure they can.

Can there be a thread which shows the real fastest laps where laps are kept within the confines of the kerbs without cheating

I didn't mean this as a generalisation that the fastest were cheating. Only that 'chdating" is an option to do so by playing the system of gt sport

Because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD when it comes to abhorrent behaviour ...makes it less fun for everyone. Clean living like that pimping big willow video "in between the lines" is where its at. You can argue the toss all you like until you get banned gaming the system like some people ...do it enough times and sore losers will report you!

What are you on about? Report you for what? Try working on not being a sore loser. It's abhorrent behaviour... making it less fun for everyone else.

I agree but not sure how that applies to driving within the track limits the game sets? It’s not like it’s a bug that’s being exploited like the tyre regen bug or pit glitch. If for some strange reason you are talking about driving within track limits and by extension the rules set for everyone then I, and every real life racing driver on the planet disagrees with you, as in racing if you can do something (as in you’re intentionally allowed to like with GTS’s track limit rules) then you definitely should do it.

Thanks, I’ve got lots of other examples of clean laps like this one at Dragon Trail.

Well considering there is no way to report people who are actually cheating (can only report people for stuff said in chat), exploiting bugs in the game, etc, I think we should be quite safe from anyone who gets upset about losing to people driving within the track limits.

Probably why everyone is making such a fuss and rightfully why PD is making the decisions? Drive within the confines of the track is all I'm saying. After all that is the idea. I know I've done a few 'dirty' laps but its usually to avoid another driver or a poorly timed overtake on my part - that's part of racing. I always stay facing forward and in the same position or better ! :lol: Can we start posting real World record times (clean) GTS doesn't have a leaderboard system like previous games

As this has already been discussed to death in another thread I'll just leave a link here;

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/track-limit-abuse-by-most-top-10-drivers.373619/

But as you'll find out reading through that, in racing the "confines of the track" are not the white lines, they're whatever the clerk of the course, or in this case PD's penalty system, say they are, and often that allows for drivers to take all 4 wheels past the white lines, and in rare occasions way way past the white lines like in the video below, so as long as we don't get a penalty we're within the confines of the track.

Playing by the rules of the game is not cheating. Tired of this stupid argument, really.

I never said anything of the kind. What I am saying about cheating to get ahead. What I said was people getcan get ahead by 'playing the system'. Playing within what polyphony digital allow in game.

Well that's as clear as the mud I was riding in earlier :lol:

In the bottom-right corner of every post on this site, there is a "Reply" button. When you click it, the software inserts the post, in quote tags, into your message box.

Instead of using this function, you've highlighted posts, copied them and pasted them into the message box, obscuring where what you're saying starts and where what other people are saying ends. Not only does that make your posts a bit of a chore to read, because we've no idea what it is that you are saying, it's a bit bizarre as highlighting any part of anyone's post also creates a new, floating Reply button...

Several of your recent posts replying to others have been made in this manner. Please start using the post reply and quote functions.

That's the opposite of what is said. This is about not abusing limits and see how fast a lap can be.

the interface doesn't always work...please don't go mental....alternatively you don't have to read it it ...problem solved. :lol:

My, you're a charmer.

If the time comes where I don't have to read it, the problem will have been solved, yes.
I wasn't being facetious but your post did seem overly long winded and in bold no less ...I am quite charming and amusing thank you for noticing :). I shall attempt to either reply or quote or leave well alone so as not to irritate anyones ocd. I've never been actively pursued by admin on a site before for a non human error...
That being said is it I or we? Now I'm confused :crazy:

I took the time to explain to you the function you have not been using. If I'd known you would be unreceptive, I wouldn't have bothered.

You - and you alone - are responsible for the contents of your posts.

As for "actively pursued", I advised you how to make your posts more legible, so that people will actually read them - after all, if you take the time to make some kind of point, you'd expect people to read them. Plus, using the Reply features notifies the people you're replying to that someone has replied to them...

If you can't be bothered, that's your problem.
