I could kick myself for missing out on mt p , my favorit track missing my normal laptop so much just now , as iam allways logged in here on gtp on that laptop , just logged in now
I've always liked Mount Panorama a lot. It's a fast nice flowing race track with many high speed sections. Only one section of that track is really tricky to get just right.
Brands is going to be a pain in the ass for many. Too many spots that people can easily over shoot and drop a tire off or even the whole car. Passing here will be very difficult as the best line around this track has you taking up the entire lane that not very wide anyway. No really fast section at this course so getting out of 4th gear only happens for a split second.
Definitely one of my least favorite tracks and forget about speed because if you can't be consistent here your in trouble as you will almost always have someone on your tail.

So funny a lot of people felt this way. Now its payback time because that's the way I feel for this track.
No worries at least we practice some. When you left Clean Racer joined in and we did another 40 minutes of racing.
Everyone so far is faster than myself here because 1:44.465 is my best time and that's not consistent.

I guess we all have our bad tracks, just don’t enjoy Bathurst I can’t find a rhythm at all.
Brands isn’t an easy track at all, if you make a mistake you can lose a lot of time and it only takes a few mph extra to dip a wheel on the grass.
I was quite pleased for my first practice session and with the DS4 that my pace was decent. In theory I should be quicker with my wheel but generally felt that those laps were okay. I think I will probably get to the optimal times with my wheel.

Im having serious issues with my wheel AFTER I got it back from Fanatec for a warranty repair. I can tell by our conversations that the fix will not be quick, probably have to send it back in. The worst problem is it will up shift and downshift at will when turning the wheel. Sometimes it will downshift 2 gears at once while downshifting and up shift 2 in a row when up shifting when using manual trans. I would hate to have to race with auto because its slower. It can be very challenging to drive when you get an unexpected downshift mid corner or corner entry, at least with an up shift you just lose a little speed.
Yep , I sold my fancy fanatec and regreted it 2 hours later So now I`ll have to do with my old logitech g29 , and it has made it all a lot simpler , dont know what I was thinking when I bought that fanatec , I cant tune a car and suddenly I also should tune my wheel , thats wasn`t a win win situation

Hey Guys, a bit of a late response on Tuesdays race but loved it. Managed to get pole in the last minutes of qualy. Noticed you need an empty tank and relative fresh tires to get some extra time off. Whiteflight 1 probably thought he had pole in the pocked until I got an extra 0,3s of this time. Sorry mate
Had a great race 1 with my heart in my throat all the way due to all the fighting with Whiteflight1. It was very exciting but clean all the way. We both had our weakspots on the track and with slipstreaming we couldn´t get away from each other. After several position changes I managed to get in front on the final lap and had to focus on the last hairpin before the long back straight to make sure he couldn´t pass me. It worked out and want to thank whiteflight1 for his clean and superb driving.
Race 2 was easier because Whiteflight1 made an mistake early in the race. With race 1 being so close I didn’t back down and after a few laps could control the race. I did some tires saving in the second stint and gave my best in the last lap and managed a 2:32.3. I was aiming on a high 2:31 but than everything has to go your way and that’s nearly impossible on Bathurst.
Just did 12laps of BH. You really need a good flow to get decent lap times. That first corner is very difficult if you’re on the limit but rewarding if it sticks. Managed a 1:32.0 but I can’t be consistent doing those lap times. Much saver to run 1:33 or even 34.
Send it back where , hopefully not germany ? No matter what I would be pissed iff that happend to me , thats so unaccepteble from a company that should be proffesionel , have you tryid google the issue at hand , perhaps its a simple little thing you could fix yourself .......
Edit. quick question regarding the car in this series , is it allowed to adjust the settings on the car , I hope not ?

It goes to Fanatec USA for repairs in California but still 4 days there and 4 days back by FedEx which is almost 2 full business weeks for shipping. Yeah, I'm not very pleased, on top of it all they do not provide a phone number to speak to a person, everything is handled thru email or computer chat. Then they always make you jump thru hoops by telling you to delete the update drivers in your PC and then reinstall then install the latest firmware into the wheel. Wait a minute, you guys just had the wheel, if you have new firmware why wouldn't you update when you just had it??!! If Germany was not so far away I might be tempted to throw my wheel thru their front window for repairs.
I think this is a mistake, by my calculations I am pretty sure I am leading the points after Bathurst
Yeah, right, not when a tortise gains on you thru the twisty sections!!! That tortise gave the back of my car quite a beating letting me know I was holding him up lap after lap, fortunately I outran that tortise on the straights to keep him behind me.
(5) Five Racing Incidents were reported at Mount Panorama last Tuesday. Out if those five reports (3) three of them will be receiving penalty points.
If you were involved with any of these incidents then you will receive a Private Message containing the description of the incident, your involvement with the incident in question and the penalty points handed out if any.
Names of those who file a incident are not given out or posted on here. Its also not always the people who are involved in the incident that file a report.
Incase you have not read the penalty system used in this Series located on the main page then here it is again for your viewing.
We will not be using any penalty system from the game. It will be up to you to abide by the rules. If someone else feels you are abusing the system or sees you taking things to far or your caught cheating then the penalty handedout by us might be far greater than the games penalties.
All race disputes must be done in private only after the race is over by contacting desertpenguin and myself Rinsky by Private Message. We will review the replay and make a decision on the infractions if any. We will use Macboyilija as our 3rd steward for final decisions.
Any incident report must be submitted within 48 hours of the end of each race day. Any reports submitted beyond this period will not be reviewed. Do not take this duty lightly. If you see something, report it. When reporting an incident, be sure to include the time of when it happened using lap number, minutes, and seconds. On track concession (giving position(s) back/letting off the gas to lose illegally gained momentum) creates the opportunity for a penalty to be reduced or eliminated.
Penalty Points remain with the driver until they are worked off. One race of driving without penalties removes 2 points from your penalty score. With three races on race day, this means a total of 6 points are available for removal each week. If your penalty score reaches 20 you are immediately suspended from the next race day. If your penalty score reaches 30 you will be invited to a private conversation with Rinsky and DesertPenguin to determine your future in the series.
Level 1 (1 - 3 point penalty)
A minor incident, usually due to a lapse in concentration. A bump in a braking zone, crossing the pit exit line, or a minor abuse of track limits, things of that nature.
Level 2 (4 - 6 point penalty)
An incident in which a driver was not properly using situational awareness with the other cars around them. Examples include an unsafe reentry, missing a braking zone which causes a collision, or a push when side by side causing the other car to lose control or go off.
Level 3 (7 - 10 point penalty)
Proper race craft and judgement has been ignored. Most likely an avoidable collision. This usually happens when one is too aggressive making a pass, creating a situation in which other cars may be at risk. Excessive blocking and dive bombing are clear examples of a Level 3 penalty. If an incident creates a situation in which the victim driver cannot feasibly recover properly, it will be Level 3 or higher.
Level 4 (11+ point penalty)
Malicious intent is a major concern and may be confirmed. These types of incidents are most likely race ending and a serious discussion with Rinsky and DesertPenguin will be required to determine the severity of the punishment. Race suspensions are a possibility.
Good Luck and welcome to the Series.
All (3) three incidents were due to people leaving the racing surface from their own mistakes. Two were due to the driver's entire car leaving the track and then not waiting to see if the track was clear to re-enter and in the process taking out other drivers.(This is not clean racing behavior) The second you decide go off-roading you are no longer entitled to your position in the race. Keeping the throttle pinned in order to salvage any spots lost due to your mistake as you re-enter is frowned upon. Taking out others in the process carries a heavy penalty.
2. Gentlemen's Agreement
On the main page It's posted that this will be a work in progress because we are following a Real Series and some things don't show themselves until the racing has begun. This brings me to our next concern on fuel & tire wear.
The Lobby Settings don't allow for much customisation as needed. We would like to have tire wear simulated without having the option of changing the tires. We also would like the option to have fuel depletion without giving anyone the Fuel Map option.
For now we will still let everyone have the option to change their tires during the pit stops should you choose to do so but we are asking everyone to only use FM1 at all times.
Again the Real Series cars do not use Fuel Mapping during the race as they are all set to the exact same computer settings.
Anyone who is using an automatic transmission seems to have one more lap of fuel than those who use a Manual but they also run slower lap times.
Again we are asking everyone for a Gentlemen's Agreement to only use FM1 at all times.
3. Official Lobby #1 Practice
Now that this Series is underway it will be difficult for me to hold an Official Practice at the same time/day every week.
If anyone wishes to volunteer for the Official Lobby #1 Practice Hosting duties please let me know.
I would really like for the practice session to be on the same day at the same time every week.

6. Unrelated 86 Series News
Just a reminder for anyone who runs in my Monthly Gr.4 Endurancerace Race that it is this Saturday Oct 6th or tomorrow.
Total Points is in the left most column to the left of the drivers column. But you don't have any points so what difference does it make Just messin' around

When I tried to actually focus I managed a 1.43.9. I will probably be in the midfield for this race. I normally like it when a track is hard, but not this one Highlight of the track is the last of those three consecutive, pretty exciting as you wait for the apex to appear, hoping you turn in at the right time. Bring on Maggiore
Track selection going forward will be really cool. Each lobby's champion gets to pick a track, then Rinsky picks one, and I pick one. This means no one person is in complete control of where we go. The same person won't get to choose twice because we want everyone to have the opportunity. If someone wins the championship twice then it goes to the 2nd place driver, and if those two have won it already then it goes to 3rd, and so on. I'm interested to see what people's favorite tracks are when they get to choose.
With a controller against AI that gets in the way I was able to get the low 1:46s so I figure with the wheel and a clear track I can knock a second or two off that.
