throttle sensitivity

Is there a way to adjust the throttle sensitivity in gran turismo 4. I have the cheapo mad catz wheel and the slightest brush of the throttle sends revs soaring. If i remember correctly throttle issues is why i sold my old ps2 and gt4 and jumped ship to xbox and forza. I have the same issue with the standard analog controller as well so i worry its just the game itself. If it isnt possible to adjust in the game, do any of the other wheels have a less sensitive and more linear throttle? Help please i absolutely love this game, but this really kills the whole simulation experiance.
