Something I never understood is when you're trying to improve your 0-60, acceleration, or whatever using the 400 or 1000m TC speed test for. How is it that you can go faster/outrun your previously timed ghost, yet you end up getting a slower time?

I've been wondering that since I noticed it years ago, but never asked anyone other than myself.

Anyone know?

To me this sounds like that you're so close to your previous best ghost,
that you can't actually see it when your car is at the same spot as it is and thus you feel like you beat it,
but actually you lost few milliseconds

I'll test this one to clarify.

I have no idea. Can you explain more? What times with what cars did you experience?

Vehicles don't really matter as much, for that matter at all. It might be a bug in my game (although it's been in three copies that I've owned). Because it starts off like this, I'll use the Esperante as that was the vehicle used before I conjured up this thread - First race I got such and such time, second try (because I was trying to see how much speed I could get from it with TCS set to 1 and ASM off) and my first ghost gets off to a quicker start but before the 400m mark I pass it, and once I cross the 1000m...my time is worse.

It's going to sound confusing when you read it, but try it for yourself and see if it happens.

I've experienced that scenario as well, that doesn't bother me. What I'm referring to I've clearly left my previous ghost behind (I can see the entire ghost when using the rear view) but somehow...I end up getting a slower time and it's boggling.

If need be, I won't mind taking some footage of it.

Are you sure that the time your not beating and the ghost car you are beating arn't from seperate runs? You might be going slower than your record run, but the ghost car might be from your best run that session.

It's been a while since I played GT3 but I never once experienced going faster than a ghost car and recording a slower time than it.
