Time to say Goodbye

Nowadays, I pretty much just eff about with the Livery Editor then (maybe) take the newly painted car for a lap or two around the ring (10:00am cloudy).
There's no variety in the Daily Races, and they don't pay.
Hard to believe that old-timers like Majorwolf and VBR are done with GTS.
Fixing the game economy might breath life into this feckless "game".

This isnt like a marriage where you have to pick one.

I play GT Sport every day and I still try to fire up FH4 and FM7 once a week.

There's obviously some people here who fire GT Sport up once every update to see what's happening and then do a few events leagues challenges and then shut it down until the next update. This is all fine too.

Yes, because iRacing is oh so perfect with the problematic driving standards across all levels, exorbitant pricing and netcode DNFs.
It was acknowledged earlier that iRacer isn’t perfect. Armed with that information, they’ve decided they want play it more frequently and primarily by the sounds of it.

Yeah, I think I’ll look into it.

But otherwise, I think the fact that I have over 400 races in GTS logged and only about ten wins is telling, in that realistic racing games just might not be for me. There’s nothing fun in feeling like you’re never improving (even when you are), always losing, and always starting/finishing midpack.

I want to have a life beyond GT. Especially when playing GTS only seems to frustrate me these days. Looking inward, I don’t really feel happy playing it. It’s just a purgatory of staying at around 21k DR. Maybe for my last hurrah, I’ll start trying to ruin as many cars in a single race as I can, until my DR/SR is zero, and then I’ll quit. I’m just so frustrated and I don’t have time for any of this! I bought Ace Combat 7 in March and I haven’t even touched it yet!

It's sound like you haven't reached your full potential and hit a low ceiling which IMO, is mostly caused by the "driving is for all" philosophy that PD have used. I also presume you are using a DS4, which I think is an unfair device that Sony/PD expects people to use for sim racing who don't know any different.

If you want to seriously improve, take advantage of the wet Redbull Ring with 'real' track settings. Begin perhaps with a mid-engined Gr.4 car and then try to progress to the Gr.3 Porsche. Driving in the wet takes no prisoners, and only with persistence which may take many weeks, or even months, will you improve and then understand why you have got better.

Apart from GTS dedicated group, I also joined iRacing group too.

To qualify yourself as a GT3/GTE driver, I must achieved 2000 Driver rating in Mazda Rookie cup or Production Multiclass Racing 1st and to finish the 12 weeks schedule with targeted 80 points for each week.
