Hi all! It was really interesting to read all this threads in the past. Some people helped me a lot with their setups so big thanks to Stotty and Bandit, but lately this is not about racing anymore. I really dont understand why are some people here so frustrated and full of hate. Its only a game guys, I dont see why should anyone be angry of Immortal for posting his videos. Is it that hard to ignore them if you dont like the guy? He has a big ego, so what? That doesnt affect me in any way, Im here because of the racing not to judge the characters of others. I saw his last lap in Monaco and I admit its one of the most beautiful laps I have seen lately. I dont want to offend anyone but for those accusing him for cheating, cmon guys do you even know what driving on the limit looks like? This is a fine example. Most probably he is not the best driver out there but he won almost all the tt's he participated in, so I think he has the more right to believe he's the best than most of you have the right to judge.

I do indeed, but cutting corners and rubbing the walls does not equate to driving on the limit.
I don't care much for the leaderboards in GT5 or a lot of games as there are always people that will find exploits somewhere and gain an unfair advantage, and at no point do you learn how to overtake the guy in front of you when you get to a real race. I've always prefered and will always think that the best racer's are the ones that can navigate they're way through a field of cars quickly and honestly.
Being quick on your own on an open track is one thing, but being the quickest in a tight pack of cars and making your way through to the win is another, and a better accomplishment in my opinion.

Right, wrong or indifferent, every human being on the planet has the right to decide what to think (what you are calling "judge") about anything. Period. Everyone has the right to ignore what others think. This is something that ought to be done more often by more folks.
And to others whom are hesitant to post helpful tunes and advice. Please don't let the appearance of cheating stop you from assisting those that might benefit from your wisdom and experience. In this particular case it's not really a big deal but, it's fairly easy to fall into less than good habits...

I think people get confused between there being facts about someone cheating, and there being the possibility of someone cheating. There's a possibility that Immortal's cheating, but then there's also a possibility that everyone on GT5 is cheating it's just no one admits it and that there are no genuine times on the leaderboards 
But at the end of the day, unless there is evidence, all you can do is go about believing it is genuine. And as for Immortal bragging, I'm sure he'll learn eventually that he can show off his top times without it appearing like he is, but obviously not any time soon, so probably best to just skip his posts for now if you are going to feel the need to just throwing stuff around that may or may not be true.
But at the end of the day, unless there is evidence, all you can do is go about believing it is genuine. Im going to keep running monaco until they shut it down, i personally hope they patch it and remove the fake times cause i love the intensity of F1s at monaco it is like no other, but like lewis said wall taps suck and i tapped it myself, any slightest tap should be red light

Overall, I can understand, but how do we know if something works without even trying?
It's a risk worth taking if it does not work, no one will die, do not worry.
I agree that acting in this way is childish and shameful but it is always better than doing nothing at all.
This is a somewhat extreme example, but a war can not be won without a fight, it's a bit the same principle here is to all of us fans of Gran Turismo, to express our anger!
It is not normal that day today he can still get away with things like this in Gran Turismo 5, Polyphony Digital must respond to risk it happening again in Gran Turismo 6.
Overall, this is a blessing in disguise.

I'm sorry, I'm just not seeing it that way and will have to respectfully disagree with you. Filling up the top 10 spots with cheated times and alternate accounts is not going to accomplish anything except make a mockery out of the leaderboards. If you want to act childish just to get a message accross, well thats on you. And I said what you have bolded because ever since this this whole hybridding thing became widespread and well known, it is just too easy to cheat using your own car. Thats why I said that PD just needs to start supplying us the cars for these TT's until GT6 comes out. By then, with the new game, hopefully they will have safeguards in place to prevent this stuff.
Furthermore, I find it a bit odd that people here will complain when a user uses multiple accounts and takes up spots on the leaderboard, but now there are people/person who are doing the same thing with these "alternate" accounts with the ridiculous names taking up spots, and no one is saying anything about that. Now, I know your're going to say, "yea, but they are trying to get a message accross" and I will say again, if you push them too far, they are likely just to shut the whole event down. My opinion is, since there was just a few "cheat" times on the board, it was just better to ignore those and move on. Now, you have what, 7 or 8 cheated times on the board with those people trying to get some message across that PD is already working on it anyway, as evidenced by the times the removed earlier.
Anyway, as I've said before, you have your opinion, and I have mine. I just think there has to be a better way to deal with the situation other than cluttering up the leaderboards with "cheated" times and ridiculous account names.

I noticed that you like to discuss is often at odds with the people by giving them more advice, but really, would not it be better for you to try to find a solution that could get things done rather than seeking conflict with people who have good intentions?

Why just 7 or 8 cheated times? Dont you think that players after top 20 are cheating? I think it is more likely lesser players would want to cheat.Go from 1000 to 200th place. Anyway unfortunately it looks like its back to supplied cars for races. Was fun while it lasted.
On the other hand all these cheaters are good practice for gt6 and PD to see all the hacks and try and fix them.

I haven't, no, but I wasn't referencing him after the first section of my post, just stating my opinion and preferences.
Although I disagree with what is going on, it doesn't really affect me since I very rarely partake in TT's. TT's are not something that I enjoy and thats something I've been saying for many years across various games, even when I held several time trial world records. It still doesn't mean I can't have some distaste for what is going on though as I fully understand the unfairness that all the legitimate players will be feeling.

I believe it was a good thing to of happened with the Leader Board. If PD was certain that the last update fixed all this, it gives them a clear visual wake up call that it was not. Hopefully PD re-supplies us with the cars again. But, this time, hope no glitched tracks just for us to see who can glitch it the quickest.
Really want to try and get back into some Time Trials here and there, but not while folks still have a way to get into the secret menu and use it towards their advantage against others. Getting the oil pre-dirty while it takes others 187miles to break in a car or using cheater boots to lower the ET bar...who knows what else they can do? It just stains it really bad for alot of folks.

The Time Trials offers the user a way to learn how to drive a track, car and tyres to your best abilities. It really is a great tool and a way to learn and progress. when pd supplied the cars such as fgt madrid tvr/gtr can the hackers not touch it if so lets go back to that for the le mans time trial next week

Not to bad for me 60 years old silver surfer etc.

The top ten on Subaru TT is being cleaned, not sure why the FGT still the same. I also see that the number ten in FGT, GTD_B4NN4MI is having a heated exchange with Immortal at the Youtube video posted earlier. Immortal is getting faster at 1:09.774
