Autopolis in a slide-y road car? Yes please! There's another 0.3 in the opt time for me so I may head back over the weekend. Very predictable drive for an American set of wheels.

Happy lapping everyone!

Hello there!

Gold collected, first top 1000 of my career! 😅
I miss the M3 already.

Oh....the Viper.... The very first car Gran Turismo kicked my butt with! A young skydragon couldn't keep the Oreca Viper on track while trying to clean a GT2 license test at Laguna Seca. Good times.... Going further back in the memory lane I was a fan of a TV show called "Viper". Remember that one!? A copycat from knight rider and KITT...

Anyways, I love the Viper. The SRT10 is not my favorite, I would much prefer GTS '02, but the '06 car is a machine I like. And I don't mind Autopolis it all.

I'll keep pushing for more time, but unlocking the gold zone is enough for the first session. Fun combo in my opinion.

The secret for faster times:
listen the Dodge dealership theme while hotlapping!😎

Hey all, long time no post. I just haven't had any time to devote to TT's in the last couple months. I barely have time to do any of the weeklies either. School, work, and life aren't leaving much time for VR shenanigans at the moment.

Last night I had a little time for the weekly races, finishing up about 11:30PM. After that, I checked the current TTs and saw the M3 was still up for another half hour. Initially I wasn't going to enter (I broke my 50-something gold streak with the unusually challenging Vette at Dragon Trail a couple weeks ago when I forgot to go back and work for gold, ugh), but I took a stock M3 to Gardens reverse for a quick few laps to see if the gold was "easily" achievable, and it was. Don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

With that knowledge I entered the TT with 12 minutes to go. I didn't know what would happen at midnight, but I knew I could put in 6-7 laps and I just had to get a sub 1:50.9 to get the gold. Long story short, I was able to get a 1:50.6 pretty quickly, but invalidated FOUR 1:49 laps by eating too much sausage in the chicane (which also invalidated the next lap too, grrr). All in all I got about two clean laps in for gold!

It turns out once the clock strikes 12 you simply get booted from the TT! Just a black screen and your time is displayed.

Wish I would have had a LOT more time for this one. My previous experience with the E36 has been bad. I haven't used it since it debuted, but for some reason here on SH tires it's a total blast to drive. I love how controllable oversteer is and how chuckable the car was. I know with more time low 1:49s were very possible, but oh well, I'll have much more time to play... next year, haha...but I got that gold!

Hope you guys are having as much fun as always in the TTs. I've missed being a part of these discussions, but since I haven't been participating I haven't had much to say. Congrats to @330_D for topping my friends board, and to PCourty for a new PB! Seems like the M3 is right up your guys' alley!

I would like to dip into both of the current TTs, but time will tell.

Keep it up everyone!

Hi,

@LSFDRX and the rest of you lot. The quick and the slow!…

Entered TT with minutes to spare. Gets a gold lap in 4 tries. Having been away from this kind of thing for a while.

😳😳😳

For sale:

Profile rig. PS 5. Fanatec wheel and base. Would consider PX for nice set of fishing tackle or a high end knitting machine.

Lots of love.

Ian.

The American broadcasting company called, they want their love-boat back.... jeeezzz what a ..thing...understeer is insane.
It was a descent one for the Remote nokia setup cause it's kind of slow 🤣🤣

Little Mehh feeling about this one, would have been absolutely fire with a little less understeer.

Did hop into the 2:00's fairly quickly though, that was after I noticed you have to brake at T18 before the straight to to not run wide on T1 🤣🤣

Well, I hung onto gold in the E36 time trial by the skin of my teeth (my time was exactly 3.00%)! Once again, I hate the way they have modelled the E36 in GT7, it's an absolute mess to drive.

Anyway the Viper lap is great. Fantastic car and track combo. After a couple of quick laps this morning I'm at about 2.3% with plenty more time to come.

I think I'll be leaving the TCS on for this one...
It's better without TCS than the E36 M3... (which make absolutely no sense, I know)

This is what I managed in todays session on this time trial and to be honest I didn't really enjoy this combo much. The Dodge Viper is very heavy and has extreme understeer and the fact that it's on Autopolis makes things worse since this is a very cornering focused track. Anyway I think I can manage below 2:00 but we'll see.

A bunch of understeer on entry. A bunch of oversteer on exit if you even think about touching the loud pedal. I have no idea how to take the last corner. The thing just doesn't want to turn whichever gear I use. Then I touch the grass on the left kink coming out of the turn and the car wants to kill me. Luckily I had a smooth exit on my fast lap and put up a sub 2:01.

Forgot to post the video of my M3 lap last night.

When the E36 TT came out two weeks ago, my mind was firmly set on picking up the bronze drift challenge once again after a long hiatus from drifting.

Wow, you did so well with that, I was going to try to bring this back in too, but after trying to get used to the handling of this car on my first run and getting frustrated, I started to slide it but it just never felt right to me, I couldn't do what you jist did with this one 🔥

Speaking of G29... it's already two or three times (not in a row), that during the same GT7 session here and there the downshift paddle operates a double shiftdown.
This is quite annoying and distracting, whereas not dangerous.
Anyone saw something similar?
I have experienced this only twice, because it turned out that I still had hold of the paddle a little bit as I turned in, but now when I want to do it I can't get it to work 😅

From the comments about the Viper trial, I can't wait to try it, sounds like the M3 again 😁

I know I said I'd be away for the weekend, but I could squeeze in a quick morning session before departure to test the waters with the Viper, and I have to say I like it, it's surprisingly good-natured and easy to control.

I arrived at this time pretty quickly. The lap felt quite good already, but it was also almost a second faster than my previous PB. So unless I accidentally nailed all the corners here, there should be at least a few more tenths to gain. I think I'll be aiming at a 2:00.xxx ... but it'll have to wait until Sunday.

Have a nice weekend everyone!
