wow, 205Kmh at Tertre Rouge. My 184Kmh is killing me over the next straight
View attachment 1404544

Keep aside the Porsche curves, all other my apex speed are in the same ballpark of yours ( I'm more limited by line and back-to-gas), but in this turn I'm hypertentative to avoid redding the lap, but even don't caring about redding I'm not sure I'm able to reach 200Kmh.
This is probably 1s lost by the time I reach the first chicane :dunce:
Don't brake too much for Tertre Rouge....maybe 50% max, point the car to the apex and let it coast a bit to settle if you are not 100% sure you will make the corner. Once you are confident, mash the throttle and pray.

Thanks @Evilmuffin, what is your turning point reference? Is it a "slam it in" or more gentle action?

Where do you get this graph ?
It's Sim-to-Motec (data gathering) plus Motec (data analisys)

Got myself into the 27 after switching from Mazda to Nissan.

Unfortunately, that corner has very little reference point (part of the reason why it is so hard to nail). I used the blue run off (on the right) as my brake marker and just brake a little and yank the car toward the apex....and since I drive in VR, I make sure the curbs go slightly left from my point of view....don't want to go too far right as I can hit track limit. Ideally I want to be on the power even before I hit the apex, but that's a totally a feel thing....can't really see the exit at this point.

Maybe one day I'll be like @crome and have a top 500 streak.
Maybe one day?! If you continue improving at your current rate, that streak is just around the corner. Great stuff! 🔥🔥🔥

In case you're interested:

Your performance in all 114 time trials so far. The y-axis is the player percentile. So at your worst (in TT 6) you were in the top 40 % of players. Pretty great trajectory if you ask me ;)

New stint today, with a twist : I turned off all race infos.

I had no clue if my laps where valid or not, not even my lap times.

No improvement overall in the end, small improvement in sector 2, 4 and 7. Medium time a bit lower too.

And in the 36s overall.

In a lot of turns, I brake too early and/or too much, but step by step I adjust my braking points so I have just the right space to slow down.

Progress is slow. But I don't do much laps everyday, if I even try. 20 laps total at the moment.

Very interesting chart @crome - I find my performance is directly tied to how much enjoyment I get from the event which then correlates to how much time I’m willing and able to carve out. Current events are a case in point - I won’t run the Viper again and I’ll get an average result (for me), but I’m going to keep running at Le Mans until the very last minute, and I’m going to do so in a slower car than optimal, simply because I’m having a blast!

That TT position history and those data tools are cool!

I managed to beat my time, even though many corners were clearly much worse. The lap was saved heavily by a much, much better run through the Porsche curves (think that’s them at least 😅) and one or two other places that offset some bad lines/braking. Was a 3:28.747, so yeah, gold for now!

(until aliens come and bring that down again 🥲)

Returned? I Never left... well actually I did leave because I went on a holiday but that's beside the point.

Was able to safely gold all the trials in between my holiday but the laps weren't anything special and I was a bit short on time, so figured there was no need to make posts for them.

However, now that I'm back into the routine, I've been able to dedicate some time to the time trials again and here are the results.

And holy understeer what are these combinations? I fear for the well-being of my controller driving these cars. The understeer is so severe I feel like I'm bending the controller trying to turn more than what the cars are willing to do.

The Viper around Autopolis is an interesting combination. Always loved the Viper so I jumped straight into this one and was quickly into the top 500, but getting to my final time was not so easy. My final time of 2:00.199 sort of came out of no where, my previous best was a 2:00.484 and even my optimum was a .3XX, so to find an extra tenth and a half was quite a surprise, couldn't actually tell you where that extra improvement came from, but I assume it was just generally carrying more speed particularly through the final sector. I lost maybe a tenth in the final corner as I didn't quite get the turn-in point right and then was a bit slow to get on the power, but otherwise it was definitely a very clean lap, and I doubt I'll be able to improve on it. That time has given me a current ranking of 66th, which I hope holds for a top 100!

And then onto Group 1 at Circuit de La Sarthe, and specifically the Nissan R92CP. Again, the understeer from this thing is really immense. I've never struggled to get a car through T4 flat out before the esses. Of course Terte Rouge is always a struggle to get through within track limits and quickly. Even getting the car stopped for the Dunlop Chicane was a challenge, and that is before you have to think about trying to maintain enough momentum to exit in 3rd gear without losing too much speed. Then you get to the track limits on the 2 Mulsanne Chicanes being marked by what I guess is an invisible line. Coming into Mulsanne Corner, I missed my brake marker and had to let off the brakes slightly which is less than ideal. Indianapolis was about the only corner I could do consistently on the whole track, followed by Arnage where I accidentally short shifted out of 2nd gear about 20km/h too early. By the time I had arrived at the Porsche curves, I could feel the nerves creeping in. I was able to get through there cleanly, although I think I could've got through there a little faster. Finally arriving at the Ford chicanes, nerves were at fever pitch, I was completely tensed up and lost probably 2 tenths through there. Slowed down way too much for the second chicane and bogged down trying to exit in 3rd gear. Happy with a 3:27.338, but I think there is definitely a 26 in me, its just a matter of extracting it which is easier said than done. Currently ranked 183rd, but hoping to improve here. Kind of crazy I'm in the top 200 whilst being 4.5 seconds off the #1 time.

Sub 26 time finally achieved, I'm very happy with this. After further inspecting my replay, there still seems to be some time I could cut off by taking a slightly better line through the Porsche curves which would be worth at least 0.1 taken off my time but in this lap I set some of my best split times through nearly all sectors so I'm still very satisfied with my result. Now since I am on controller, I feel very limited, especially with how this car behaves compared to a wheel from what I've heard so anything below a 25 just doesn't sound possible with a controller so I'm not going to push further. Overall I enjoyed this time trial and had lots of fun driving the R92CP so I'm putting this one to rest now along with the Viper combo as I have no plans for further improvement and I'll see you guys in the next time trial!

Goodness gracious, those times posted above me...insane! Meanwhile, I improved by all of a tenth after over 225 miles. I would mess up somewhere every single lap. Annoyingly, I had a 3:27.2 invalidated as I barely brushed the wall in the Porsche Curves (first time I've done that at all in this TT, go figure). To rub salt in the wound, I had by far my best final chicanes on that lap. Instead I still sit a good half second of that one with my best "clean" lap being a 27.7.

My controller time this morning at my first attempt is a 3.30.667. Been away a lot the last week for work so haven't really played for more than a week.

A massive 0.84% off gold

What's crazy is that if the 9th place driver was the current leader, I'd be dead on the gold time. Thats massive within purely the top 10! 1.7s from 1st to 9th 😂😂 True alien land up there.

This seems like one I could do better at on the wheel through the two chicanes and the exit from the two slower corners at minimum so will give it some more practice this evening. Although not sure how that's gonna gain me 2 seconds 😂😂

Yeah its crazy. There are so many long straights, we can all watch the replays and potentionally replicate what they are doing, yet they are so far in front. Whoever wins this deserves a special prize from Polyphony.

I was wondering, has there ever been a TT at Fishermans Ranch? I imagine that would be extremely challenging.

Closest we came to that was TT29 Willow Springs International Raceway: Streets of Willow Springs Reverse in the GReddy Fugu Z.

Made some improvements after a lot of restarts.

Improved to 7.4xx then hit this.

And then I crushed a lap! and am very happy. Coming out of Indy after the fast right hander in third was good help after reviewing P1 replay. Also hitting third instead of 2 in T2/3 complex helped.
