First impression on new TT;

I don’t like RH tyres
Scirocco is decent to drive but a tad quicker car would be better fun with Laguna imo
Corner exit is the key
I don’t see myself in top 100

Got into gold range pretty fast with this latest time trial at Laguna Seca - my best time is 1:29.6xx, putting me not only within gold range, but more specifically within 2.50% off the top. If it sticks, that could end up being three golds in a row.

Out of curiosity: What was your path to motion steering and how steeph the process has been?

Thanks, well I was playing video games many years ago, I had a wheel let's say 25 years ago, playing Colin McRae Rally and then ... Life ...so I got PS two years ago and steering with sticks wasn't working for me so I tried motion control and here we are.... Well it certainly requires many hours of practice but I can get competitive times now....

@330_D I have special memories from VW cars, because we had several of them in my family. Besides the omnipresent VW Bug and later on dreaming about the Gol GTi, I remember clearly my father had a VW Passat. Which is not THAT Passat, but a VW creation/inspiration based on the Audi 80.

This Passat is worshiped and very sought after in the vintage cars market here in BR.

I always knew that the Passat was based on a Audi car and that was the case for many Brazilian cars. The reason for that was because one or the government (dictatorship) directives back in the day. In order to promote national industry, importing were something almost impossible due to dozens of complex laws. Hence the many cars we had here based on foreign models, but nevertheless designed and built in national soil. Car indsutry wise it was something we could call a golden era in our country. And today I learned that the Scirocco was the base for the Gol.

I learned how to drive in a Opel Kadett, which was built and called here "Chevette". Later on we got updated to the International market (early 90's the importing business were let loose of those many regulations and the new government actually started to promote that) and car industry picked up its pace and then, I got to drive a beauty of a modern Kadett.

Good memories. Anyways I digress. 😎

you actually do the TTs remotely? I find it too laggy for that kind of control. I use remote play to do my daily workout if I'm out of town for a few days but I use an electric car on SSRX to make it as easy as possible

I loved my GTI too.....it was great car. Did everything well. Then 5 years mark hit and check engine light every week 🫠....ended up selling it last dec 🤧

I still miss the car today and found myself eyeing the Golf R >.>

Yes most of the time during evenings I'll do remote,very doable but the faster it gets the harder it is 🤣, i have set some descent times remotely 😁 but tv is still easier and less lag, certainly true!

Quite happy with that. Highest amount of miles I've put into a TT in quite some time.
Think a 27 is possible but not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Happy with the car choice though, considering I picked VW for my GTWS manufacturers season, a little Scirocco practice doesn't hurt at all!

Yup, I just noticed I'm already basically there.

I forgot since this is technically a Gr.4 TT, people will participate in it way more. I felt the lap was alright, but clearly not.

Ok, ok, let's see if even 1340th will be anywhere accurate. 🤣

You should see it in real life. During the times of the ALMS series, I used to go when they raced into the night, right after sunset.

Is that something you can also do on a PS4? I've never heard of playing the game that way, but I'm intrigued!!

Yes, I used too when I used the PS4, buy I had a slim version, output is then 720P, don't know if the output of a PS4 pro for example is 1080, on the PS5 it is, I do have a fiber connection and a standard wifi router Xperiabox V10a and most of the time it's more than doable to be competitive with it, but there is a bigger input delay, but once you get used to it in a session it's fine, as long as it's no fast high downforce timertrial....that's more difficult, but almost always I gold new TT's on Thursday evening while the wife watches tv , and friday morning O-sixhundred starts the TV session 😁🤪

Your wife's TV program should not suffer so much from latency. If she's choosing a program which does, don't spend your Thursday evenings with time trials 😉

PSVR2...then you don't need to fight over the TV anymore 🤪

Sounds great, but I think that's only when you already have a wheel.... I can't see myself with a VR headset on with the dualsense...🤣

It's like... " honey .. we are not going on vacation for the next 2 years"... 🤣🤣

PS5+TV+Playseat+Wheel+Pedals+Loadcell+PSVR2....... I'll be murdered before i am getting half way to that list 🤣🤣

I was trying to buy a slightly used R when I got this. They are hard to come by. Next one might be an R but this car is ridiculously good for what it is. I didn't need much more/else. I could easily find myself in trouble.

Optimals still look good. Plus I couldn't say I owned a VW and not produce a halfway decent lap, right? 😂💜

This one is pretty fun and GR4 cars don't generally do much for me. Quick laps in this car here are a lot of fun and there is time where you least expect it.

I know I likely won't catch the top ten on my leaderboard but I'm gonna try!

Finally, a car that makes noise and has gears! And handles better. Still can get understeer coming out of the corners, but much, much, much less so than the vacuum/dump truck we finished up with at the Glen.
