Dang it....There were 2 or 3 places where I semi stuffed up. Would've been a 7:36s 🫠

New paint....might help....

Hi guys,

I'm back from my mini vacation and used the first chance I got yesterday evening to try the 911. I managed three valid laps, the best (and last) of which was a 7:46.027, so a bit more than 3 seconds away from gold. At this point I'm hopeful I will find these three seconds. I compared my sector times with those posted by @Dolph Drago. I'm trailing behind 9.6 seconds behind his optimal, and a whopping 6.2 seconds of that just in sectors 7 to 10, so I know what I have to focus on.

Anyway, I'm prepared to fight to keep the gold streak alive, and it helps a lot that this is such an insanely fun combo.
Here were my splits if you are interested. You got me in sector 2 (thanks, Flugplatz! )

Meanwhile, I took a trip back to Brands today. I'm #44 globally and really worried it won't hold for top 50 by the end of the TT. 180 miles of frustration with no improvement. Multiple 44.9's (with one lap in particular that would have put me in the 44.8's or possibly 44.7's, but had a most awful sector 2). Optimals in all my sessions were 44.5's. :boggled:

7:44.418, I'm gaining time, but the goal post keeps moving! This has to be the best lap I've ever driven around here in any sim or car, but still 1.778 sec. away from gold, until the gold time changes again. This TT has me sweating bullets! My deltoids are even sore. 😬

Switched to ABS default which helped, no other aids. I drove about 180 miles, maybe completing 10 or so clean laps, a few barely disqualified but finished them for practice. Crashed a few times and aborted those laps.

Made a vid for posterity, who knows I might not get a better lap, but I'm going to keep trying, still making steady but increasingly small gains.
I just have to figure out a few more corners and then string them all together. Tough time trial but it's probably my favorite one so far.

Ran VR vid through editor and fixed colors, up-scaled to 4K. GT7 sure is looking good, also included TV replay.

Oh boy, this is going to take a level of work I'm not sure I have the time for.

I think I completed 2 valid laps today. 3 invalidated laps in a separate session before restarting. It's a good car to drive and looks very nice in VR. However, I lack the bravery required for Gold at the moment.

Perhaps after watching a replay and lap guide I'll start chipping away the entire seconds necessary.
I'm with you. This is not my track. I just don't have the time right now. I might be able to get to silver but this one is going to break the streak for me, I believe. One valid lap at 7:57.xxx is all I've managed. 🤷‍♂️

Great time, I'm 12 seconds behind you. I am struggling bad here. The Nords always kicks my behind. I will have to record my runs later in the week/weekend and let you guys take a look. I need some expert advice. My week is kinda booked this week as I have two doctor appointments so I will have to curb my game time. Good luck with your mission on getting to the gold zone.
If you enjoy it, just lap around and improve confidence. 12s seems a lot but are less than what they seems to be, looking in perspective.

I still have to figure out how the use ghost.
Gold ghost are nearly not usable as they disappear quickly
Respone ghost or not? While responing is actually useful, I loose the feeling on the overall lap
Maybe use my own ghost +2s?
Maybe a ghost 3-5 faster with no respone?

Keep pushing man, you can do it! There's still over a week left.... at least it's a fun combo :)

Not quite there yet...
TT-BrandsHatch-almost2.jpg

And yeah, this combo seems d-pad friendly, I've got decent control of the car, yet it's easy to overdo the rear steppin' out to help into corners.
That lap is still AT, I clearly see the advantage to dropping to 3rd to help turn in (doing corners in 4th is not d-pad friendly), but I'm still slower with it overall. Will test it a bit more.
Optimal is 45.3 which is nice, but I don't see that kind of miracle lap to happen.

Thanks for the encouragement! Yeah I love this TT, I'm definitely going to put in a lot more time. I should get down to gold eventually. Sometimes just coming back to it fresh the next day after several hours driving and learning little things here and there the day before can help a lot. I only need 0.4% better time which doesn't sound like a lot LOL. I think if I added up all my best sectors, it would be under gold time. One time I was ahead of that 7:42 ghost and I have ghost 0.9 seconds ahead so I know it's possible for me to go faster! But yeah it's fun either way.

I kinda want to do some laps at the ring but someone has other idea.

I was going to have my first session on the ’Ring but I’m having the same problem. :D

Whilst you two were getting cuddles stopping you from the TT, I had to cut a sheet of perspex for the TV stand to stop mine getting in and eating more PS4 cables 🤣🤣

How innocent does he look 😇😂

God help me when I set up the gaming computer in the spare room 🙏🏻

Hi all. Its been a minute since I last logged in here. Life and work has just taken over. Need to back track and catch up on all the posts.
This is where I am at with the 911. Sectors 7,8,9 and 10 is where I loose a ton of time. Need to practice these and hopefully make gold.

According to the screenshot your car has 1 less BHP than mine and only 540.78 PP compared to my 580.64. Why is that?

I wonder....
Probably needs an oil change.
Will do this later and see if it makes a difference. Hopefully it translates to 3 seconds
Thanks for spotting this difference.

edit: The PP difference is massive though... Im lost

edit 2: Going through the various screenshots, it seems as if though 295HP is what the stock engine of the 911 produces and 529.59 is stock pp without any additional aero parts.

With Bop being applied when you enter the TT, all of these get cancelled out.

Maybe someone with a better understanding can chime in...

Just for the record, my car is completely stock. No custom parts added anywhere and also no tuning. I hope that helps.

It is that. (EDIT: Incidentally, the main reason I don't use my own cars in TTs; can't be bothered with the oil changes)

In the meantime, I'm back and have posted results for TT78 at Laguna in the other thread. No interim as we are only two days away.

I drove for the first time yesterday and improved my Brands Hatch time a bit (from around 800th to around 300th). On to the 'Ring next; can't wait.

Quick update to this @Gogga : The actual PP value of my car is 529.59. The 580.64 displayed in my first screenshot is what the car would have with Racing Hard Tyres equipped. I don't know why the game is showing that value when the car actually has Sports Hard Tyres on.

But that also means that you're at a disadvantage, doesn't it? @Gogga seems to have slightly more PP than normal because he's added a larger rear wing to his car. That added downforce will make a difference, especially on a track as long as the Nordschleife. This is something I will have to keep in mind moving forward.

With BOP applied, any additional aero advantages are negated in the time trial.
Same applies to engine upgrades if installed, when you enter the TT, it reverts to the set limits of the BOP parameters.

Additional aero, different mufflers, etc are just for aesthetic purposes in a time trial with BOP.

A quick update on my day yesterday at Brands Hatch:
After improving my time to 1'45'247, I decided to take a break on this circuit and tackle improving my silver time on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. But impossible !!! I still can't understand why. I'm honestly thinking of giving up on this circuit. Then I decide to return to Brands Hatch. Again no improvement in my record, but a satisfactory time of 1'45'388. On the other hand, when I saw the optimal time for 10 laps completed, I was speechless !!! An optimal time of 1"44'680 !!!!!😲😲 You believe me or not it doesn't matter. But I won't give up !!! So I tell myself that I will still insist on this very circuit if I have already beaten my world ranking with this 163rd place If I have this optimal time I tell myself that I can finally be in the top 100 for the first time. But for that I will have to be a little better constant in my laps.
I wish you all many more good laps on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. With my return to work I don't know if I would have a lot of time to do TT. I was able to improve my tricks on Brands Hatch (a combo I love) thanks to my time available to play every day. There this will no longer be possible. Good luck to all.:cheers:

At some point of the discussion I was wondering if my car has donkeypower instead of HP, given the huge PP difference, then @Baka_Marimo took me back to heart

I'm wondering if what we saw in the bottom right of the screen is simply affected by some bug / bad handling of the info.
It also happen with the PP if you change tyres through the quick menu instead of the full menu

I think I see your problem. You're supposed to lose time, not gain it ;)
