Nice job amigo!

If I may suggest 😁

T12 in 2nd , i tried 3th also but im consistently faster in 2nd and shifting to 3th for the exit of T13

Then T14 definitely in 2nd like you do and right before the apex on T15 up to 3th, seems a bit to slow in the beginning bit it's much more stable in 3th, and if you hit is right definitely faster!

Nice work!

Thanks a lot my dear friend Jomar for your always very accurate advice.
I will try all of this tomorrow and congratulate you on your fabulous tour and ranking.:bowdown:
You've been in really good shape for several weeks...doping !!???? 🤔🤔 🤣🤣
I have some suspicions...about your controller....🤣🤣

Hi guys (and Greek)

I'm back at Grand Valley with the lovely Miss S2000, and very honestly, time flies really fast with her!!!

Another improvement with some positive points and some not-so-positive ones.

S1: 42.497 - Sooo annoying because I had many (really many) S1 around 42.1xx and...pfff. Minimum 3 tenths available here.
S2: 45.344 - Still not happy with my 2nd sectors, I should be minimum 5 tenths faster here.
S3: 47.449 - I lose too much time (+/-3 tenths) before entering the tunnel because I brake too soon and too much.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy and positive because I'm getting closer to my objective here but I'm stupidly losing too much time here and there. Still 12 days to shave "some" tenths....

Happy lapping, folks :)

Personally, exit out of turn 2 (the slowest corner) is still a mystery for me, I lose so much time there, I tried with TC0, TC1, TC2, modulating the throttle in all the possible ways, but whatever I do, top ghosts just walk away from me there, I can follow them in the bumper no problem for the rest of the lap when I nail it, but that particular corner, impossible.
I have found that in some laps I was able to not only keep up but on occasion catch up to Bruin coming out of that turn.

I found TCS1 best here. As you brake entering, release before turning in, take a slightly wider line (to avoid the hump at the apex) but rather than coasting through, slowly build to 50% thottle after coming off the brakes and before the apex. Maintain 50% through the curve then as you straighten increase to 80% throttle. Once your speed gets up to around 160-180 kph (basically I use the gantry as a marker) then go full throttle.

If you enjoy that type of car then it's about practice is the hard answer.

The softer answer is this week across the whole of sports mode is pretty hard, the S2000 is a saving grace.

You have to do laps in the RB thing, funny enough I'd suggest doing a few laps of the RBR to get to figure the car out a bit then head to Nurbs but sector by sector. It's not my thing however so happy for that to stay blank!

I'm still to adjust my T14 and T15 to this way. I believe it can be faster indeed, but it is so counter intuitive at the same. 😅

Looking at the leaderboards I'm 99.99% certain gold on the Nords is not achievable. 6 mins 30 for a silver isn't a gimme, either. I don't think I'm going to torture myself. It's a shame events have to involve this car.

Folks, about a hundred years ago I asked @seadog777 for permission to post a link to a series I was planning into this thread. I have finally got my finger out and done it, and anyone who posts on her is, of course, more than welcome to join. Simple motors, close, friendly racing, and witty banter almost guaranteed...

Cheers, Zo.

I'm always surprised by how many people usually beat me in the time trials, good and bad. I've done a 22.9 in the Mission X (with a .6 or something on the optimum) and there are over 10,000 people ahead of me. The car's a boat. I feel like I'm going to break my ankle trying to brake enough. Am I driving this completely wrong?

Chipped away 2 more seconds at the Ring for a :31.7 with a :31 flat optimal so far. I see the time just got lowered AGAIN and now need a high :29 for Silver.

I think I can crack silver with some more runs and fearless corner entries with no brakes lol, but I don't know that I want to bother with it that much just for a silver.

:boggled:

Slow and steady wins the the race, well not slow maybe more smooth and steady.

It's a tricky one, and not a fun one for me but nailing T1,2 and T7 is all you need to do on pace.

Edit: ****ing hell @bliprunner

Edit:
Mods I appreciate my swearing censorship was cusp but you could have edited the grammar at the same time.

Well this wasn’t easy, but it was necessary…

Feels so good when it all comes together!

Now for the #%!&* Nurbs…
Phenomenal time. Well done.

Considering I said a moment ago that I was able to keep pace with Bruin through turns 1 and 2 and even catch him up down to turn 3 (after that I lose it as I am slow in sector 3), I feel he has a lot more in him still. I should never be able to keep pace with such a person. Now he is in 3rd, what's the odds that he'll hit this again an put in a .3s improvement over everyone on the last day?

In the meantime, in non-alien land, I've done another stint at GV, 10 laps this time. Good improvement, though gold treshold moved too so...

Again invalidated at turn 3 and 14, but now I found how to negociate turn 3, so there's that.

Optimal is a bit too far from gold to my taste, but it feels like a TT I could gold if I practice it everyday which probably won't happen as it will bore me before reaching the goal(d)

Plus there is RBR and NBR...

Not to confuse you even more but allow me to share a bit more info in order so you can find what works for YOU. T15 , great advice to upshift to third, but keep in mind following thing, advice comes from alien that keeps enough speed in that corner and third is definitely right choice. Also Tidgney in his video do very same thing, third gear. Gomario says "works for me" and "if you hit it right", Again these two aliens are P 10 or 30 or thereabouts. If you look at fastest video replay, second gear on exit of T15. So not to confuse you but just to share another point of view, maybe they are turning in earlier or later than you, maybe they are releasing brake earlier than you, maybe carrying more speed, what I want to say, advice you got is definitely correct, but if you can't execute it exactly the same way they do it,( I can watch Tidgney video but can't repeat exactly what he does) , test second gear too and see what works best for YOU in that current moment of corner. (Probably can be after many attempts, in that very moment of T15 you will be able to see how much speed you carry in that very lap and decide in split second, second or third gear for that corner exit ) (Had best intentions to help, hope I haven't made it worse or more confusing, if so I apologize in advance)

If you can stay relaxed after nailing the first sectors then there are serious gains to be had in S3! But you need to be ice cold and send it in the final two turns, and I definitely wasn't! My sectors were 19.0, 36.6 and a sweaty and shaking 25.2

I decided to attempt the Nurb since I love the course. The sheer grip of that Red Bull is nuts, and I am amazed at how many turns I can take flat out that are impossible in any other car. Anyway, I had a near disaster in the final sector which cost me likely a full second. Even if I hadn't messed up, I'd still be 5 seconds off gold. :boggled: Yeah, ain't happening. With the way these aliens are, it's no guarantee this will be safe for silver by the end.

You know how it goes! When I absolutely nail sectors 1 and 2, fear of losing it in sector 3 take over and I am overly cautious, or trying to be cautious and not attack it I completely missing my brake and turn in points and fluff those last corners.

Or, if sectors 1 and 2 appear ho hum, I'm like, it doesn't matter, I relax and totally nail sector 3.

I can never do it all at once though. Nail it that is. Fluff, it's guite easy to do all at once. Many times I even fail to reach the start line! :D

Just as I suspected, gold time at N24 dropped knocking me out. So back I went dropping ~.500" off my previous time.

Back in gold again... barely again. As much as I hate to say it, I think gold will end up in the 21s. I don't think we've seen the best from Kylian, Gallo, etc. And unfortunately, I am out of eureka moments; no more gobs of time to be had.

We shall see...

If the super aliens don't leave well enough alone, I am sending Russell Casse after them!

Hello there @Barareklam !

First of all, thank you for explaning and sharing your insights. I really aprecciate it.

Secondly, it wasn't confusing it all. Not even a single bit. Not only that, but I also agree with your point 100%. I mentioned something like that before however I just couldn't put it down in a very well explained way as you did.

Thirdly, I mentioned what @Gomario JSP said because I managed to get a decent time (not bragging myself here) despite not doing said T15 exit in 3rd. Also T4 I'm keeping my car on 4th rather than upshifting to 5th. Tidgney suggests it is more stable, but I just couldn't do it. I thought I could find an extra bit of time then if I adjusted my driving to those advices.

What brings me back to your (excellent) point. It may be a matter of knowing what is working instead of just copying the top guys. I guess in this TT I should worry a little bit less about replicating top tier driving ways.

Thanks again for your insights. 🙏
