Morning folks,

I decided to do a morning run in de Bull, but wasn't all motivated but my very first opening lap had a split S1+S2 of a. 4xx which...was 4 tenth SLOWER then my PB lap but absolutely hammered the last chicane and ended up with a 45.417 I believe while the PB was a 408 .... so technically....🤣🤣

Then after some laps I finally got into the window and managed splits of .9 and .8 after S1+S2 and finally a descent. 7 I got a little scared seeing that so I didn't want to get all airborn on the chicane so I did chicken out a little bit 🤣🤣 but wasn't a bad line to be honest.

Almost down to a 44 🙈🙈

I had several .0's after that but time was limited, it's in there for sure!

I am borrowing this thread, sorry @seadog777 I will just do one post.
I got bored with Red Bulls so I created a fun and easy Time Trial for whoever is up to over holidays. Especially for those that don't really like snow challenges in Gran Turismo, this one can't be so much easier honestly.
All tuning allowed, beat my time if you can 😁

I thought I knew what the track limits were here but somehow this didn't cancel my lap
I appreciate the track limits not always being at the white line (or kerb), but it does make things frustrating when it's trial and error.

The track limits at Lago Maggiore were basically non-existent too. As long as grass was not present, you were welcome to cut as much as you like. 😭

Just couldn't get this one to click for some reason. 126 miles and no gold in a pretty easy car on a track I know quite well. I would have expected a very quick gold but man this thing just felt like it had no grip. Is the reason I thought it was nice in the wet because it has no grip in the dry so who cares about some water? I just couldn't figure out how I was losing gobs of time to the ghost, particularly on the high speed corners. My tires were getting overheated so easily too, I could feel a lot of grip lost from corner to corner if I got small amounts of wheel spin.

This was the best I could manage until I noticed one funny little detail in the HUD, on my tires:

Oh I still had the tires on from the last time we took this out for a TT... Was quite relieved to see this and realize I didn't just forget to drive.

Got this shortly after:

I have a feeling I'm gonna have a long struggle during this TT at Goodwood. I've dealt with the face buttons for over 2 decades. And that applies to any racing game, (Dirt, NFS, Midnight Club, Gran Turismo, etc.) I gotta think of a master plan. The corners keep taking advantage of me, I'll brake too early and lose speed/time. Sigh, well I'll just have to keep doing it by trial and error. The braking markers are a great tool for letting me know when to start braking. I dread that death chicane at the end everytime, because when I'm driving a fast lap, I'm like, "Is it going to destroy my good lap?"

It’s not clear to me, are you still using X and square for accelerating and braking? If so, stop that. Use the triggers, man. L2 and R2.

About the white veil on the videos shared to Youtube, with a big help from @BWX and @Chris30's ingenuity, I found a way to upload faithful image quality videos via the share function.

BUT...

you need to put those video settings :
  • HDR off
  • Deep colour off
  • RGB space limited
  • Resolution 1080p

And this settings for video capture :
  • 1080p
  • MP4 format

Then record your replay.

And now when shared on Youtube, they won't have the white veil.

We'll keep looking how to upload in 4K (HDR if possible), but that's a way to do it without resorting to capture card or video editing/enconding on PC before uploading to Youtube.

Miniscule pickup today. It was a frustrating session. I actually had a time within .008 of my previous best only 3 laps in. That's a good sign! I should easily be able to beat it. Nope. Instead I couldn't even get close to my time for another 80+ miles when I finally surpassed it.

I remember back in the day when we were close in speed. It would be back and forth who would be faster week to week. Now you crush me every trial, no matter the combination. Damn you! :grumpy:  Seriously, though. Your times have been insane.

I think you might be able to run the game in 4k still, just choose MP4 for recording, and it'll make a 1080p vid from the 4K screen. Haven't tested with those setting +4K yet but I think it'll work so you don't have to sacrifice resolution while playing if you are live recording.. 👍
