It looks like most of you have moved on past the Megane in favor of the RB! I'm leaving again for about a week over the holidays and didn't have much time to invest into TTs, so I decided to focus my efforts at Goodwood and leave the RB for when I get back. Based on everyone's comments, I'm really looking forward to it.
At Goodwood my goal was 1:24s, but it wasn't easy. Soon after beginning todays session I landed at a 1:25.006... and stayed there for a looong time. After "slowing down" in the fast esses on the backside of the track, and also in the death chicane, exit speeds increased and times went down.
I really enjoyed the little (kinda big?) Megane, and it's a great example of FWD dynamics. Although in a TT like this every little squiggle and squirm loses time, and with the front wheels having so much to do it's easy for then to get overwhelmed.
That said, this thing moves around a lot if you want it to. You can coax the rear to come around on the brakes pretty easily, but step out too much and those fronts are gonna come back in line in an unsatisfying bout of wheelspin and lost time.
As per usual lately, the GTP bros are all seemingly picking up their pace. Everyone's so
got dang fast in here now! I'm 268th in world, but still 4th on my friends list! Crazy!
Here's the lap. Haven't recorded anything in a while, so have at it!
Also got the IRL car loaded down for our holiday trip. Would be easier with a wagon, but we didn't get then in the US!
All of you are
more than welcome to take a break from the TTs too... I'll be back in a week, and there's no need for any of you to keep getting faster while I'm gone!
Happy holidays, and happy lapping!
