Rough, though, why wouldnt he just keep the session open and try to fix the connection issue, then return when its sorted? Surely the time will register then...
Or maybe he was confident he could do it again/even better, and that feetguy would'nt have an answer for it...
Either way, I liked this. Used your ghost and could manage to stay about equal until last chichane, lost massive ammonts of time there...

@Dragonwhisky well done, I sucked at Goodwood,I ran a total of 354 laps and still no kind of progress was made, how can I keep going and have faith/be positive when I'm not making any progression out on the road?

Happy for you man! It did take me about three days before I stopped having any queasiness, and for a little while there would be some lingering grumbles in big elevation changes, but once you get your VR legs it's all gravy from there! Times have only ever improved too.

It is pointless to watch (at least that's you keep saying) dozens of guides only to come back to the game and repeat your mistakes for 300+ laps.
Untill you get your PERCEPTION right and realize that what you are doing is day-night different from what you see/read here you are going nowhere.
Edit: I wasn't going to make any comment, but as I saw some fellow drivers replying to you I felt like "why not?" But honestly.... It feels like a waste of time. For the thousandth time you are going to just straight up ignore whatever is said to you when you hit the tracks again.
No wonder why most of the guys around here stopped sharing things with you. Including myself.

I already knew that, that's why I don't let it bother me anymore, plus it's just a game. It's not like we're competing over real money here. Time for things to change, it's almost a new year. I have to agree with you guys on this, sometimes I'm hard-headed. My mom even says it.

Maybe that's part of it. But what I feel is most important every time I watch one of the uploaded videos: being comfortable on and understanding the racing line (using all the width of the track, use braking points and hit apexes) and car control basics (when to brake or apply throttle, how much and why).
I think gold can be achieved with any of the available input methods and assists available, as long as you understand the fundamentals and feel at home with your chosen method.

The only difference in this situation is that none of you guys have used the face buttons for 23 years, my first racing game was gt3 on the ps2 which I bought June 2001. And then NFS, Midnight Club and Dirt the next couple years after that. It's gonna take time for me to adjust but it has to be done, so time to watch some Youtube guides on the subject.

I really think he he could benefit massively from smoother inputs on throttle/ brake.

I used face buttons from GT1 to GT4. I think you should at least try, you might like it.

Why not ? The first game I used triggers and left joystick to turn was GT Sport, I did all the previous with face buttons. So around 23 years of face buttons before switching for good.
But in my opinion it is not the main issue at play here, there are other players that use face buttons and still manage to be fast. As @ikon_313 is explaining in his post.
Watch lap guides, note on a piece of paper every braking point, and where the car is on the track, where the car is the most inside in a turn, when throttle is applied. And replicate that. Even with face buttons.
If you are all over the place constantly you won't be able to improve your lap times. Especially if you are on the wrong place.
Just activate the trajectory line assist, it will help you tremendously without having to watch a lap time (won't give you braking points though)

I used the face buttons until about a year and a half ago with every single GT game from GT1 on.
The buttons are one problem, but knowing your markers and car placement and entry and exit speed is all much more important.
I haven't used a controller for nearly 2 years with this game. Last week I got mine out and just wanted to party lap a little in bed. I used to be awful with the analog sticks and triggers but now that I understand much better how to get around the track, I can even do it with a controller far better than I could before.
Point is, your peripheral and method of choice to control the car is not the thing holding you back the most. It's understanding the basic concept of going fast in this game. This thread is literally chock full of advice from quite literally the fastest time trial participants in the world. Start by listening to them. And the rest of us who are also pretty fair in this game.

@BWX Thank you for the encouragement, well I'm on my own, I feel like I'm going in the forest by myself on a quest, the quest for gold. I'll need more time on the Barcelona one, the Tsukuba one won't be an issue, I can probably knock that one clear in the dust. I do better with road cars than Group/stock cars. @330_D, thank you,

These tires seem good to me. I must not be pushing them hard enough. ABS Weak, everything else off. (When I am on DS5 I use X and O, shift with L2/R2, and turn with the left analog stick. I could almost get gold in most Time Trials this way, but I don't try it very often any more. I think sound racing lines are much more critical than any button pressing strategies.)

@BWX I know this isn't really the place but I wanted to get your thoughts on the CSL Elite V2 crankset. I bought the CSL Load Cell brake a few weeks ago and I'm not really happy with it, especially because the stroke is too short and the adjustments are very, very limited. So I wanted to know if it's worth paying €300 to upgrade to the Elite V2. Thank you for your help

You don't have to buy new pedals, you can improve your CSL LC massively.
Order couple of these:
You can find them on Amazon, Aliexpress, probably on every single site, choose what you like.
My recommendation is that you order Blue and Yellow, you can make a good combo with these 2, you can also combine them with existing elastomers (1x spring + 2x elastomers), just pay attention to the dimensions, you need 20x10x25mm.

Many of us started long before then. I started (using face buttons) on the Sega Mega Drive playing Road Rash in the very early 90's (1991 I think) and I'm in my 60's now and yet I could adapt.
I even lost my right leg in an accident (2012) and went from a two foot racer to adapting to driving with my left foot both in real life and sim racing... and that was after driving for over 35 years with both feet. It's now second nature to me and even seeing a car (or sim rig) with the accelerator on the opposite side to what I now use looks foreign to me.
Humans are very adaptable, you just have to be willing to try.
