Hi guys

Quick update from me before I head to the pub! Tried the NSX at Tsukuba, what a lovely combo again! What a masterpiece that engine is and lovely balance even on the slightly silly sports hard tyres.

Like @Gomario JSP and @Ed_Night the real challenge is low speed corner exits, getting the car slow enough to turn in and then on the power early enough is a real challenge here, not my favourite circuit but the NSX feels just about right for it and it’s fun dancing on its toes in S2

The only real question here is, did I ruin a classic??

Slotted in between @djolliea and @Gomario JSP but expect I’ll put this one to bed and focus on my target at Catalunya in the next day or two

Right, pub o clock!

Hey folks, I'm finally back in the vicinity of my PS5, although for now I had to cede it to my girls so they can play LEGO Horizon Adventures (Christmas present). ;) ... but anyway, that gave me the chance to fix the plug-in at least. Everything should be back to normal now. Hope to join the action later tonight. I think I'll start by trying to improve at Catalunya at least somewhat (sitting at 1:46.109 currently) - I have a feeling that once I've tried the NSX, it will be hard to go back :D

You should be excluded from the Tsukuba Challenge for two reasons...... A: running a .444 on your first stint is not realy that nice of you 🤣🤣......B yes....livery.... NO Daniel!

🤣🤣

Cheers mate!

@ScottPuss20 I do use the joystick for steering, I just need to do better on my brake/throttle inputs. The tricky thing about MT is if you shift down or up with the wrong gear, the car will rev and not go as fast as you need it to, that's the thing. It's trial and error.

@Dan_Tes bring me some root beer from the pub, xD. If you find some.

I was glad to see the NSX at Tsukuba. Not sure what the drama is with the tyres, but when I picked my otherwise bone stock Indy Yellow example from my garage, I had to swap out the CS tyres I'd obviously been using for the SHs instead. I did find it a smidge edgy with sports tyres in this TT, counter steer assist might be useful.

Anyway unfortunately, like many MR cars in this game, the stock brake bias is fairly forward. So without ABS, braking zones become very long and apexes become very elusive. After struggling in the high end of silver, I only managed to improve to a 1.04.2xx.

I set ABS to weak and immediately knocked nine tenths off that for what felt like a very easy gold (early days of course).
Shame really because this car is such a peach, great tractable engine and lots of traction if you're gentle. With a sensible brake bias (+5 at Tsukuba), it pounces on apexes just fine and the stock brakes are barely strong enough to lock up on SH tyres.

I definitely feel like first lap grip is higher, also?

The brake bias on the Junior isn't terrible, but it has lots of aero and slicks, which helps a lot. I can't get on with the floaty steering on controller though and I am historically awful at Catalunya despite my positive feelings for the circuit and having been running laps there since the GTR-2 demo 20 years ago...

Nope, Idk what the hell I did at the beginning turn, I braked at the 100 meter mark like Sammysnake said, but I still felt like I lost some time there. I did okay braking right under the PD Bridge and then handled Turns 2-4 fine I guess. Ugh, just realized at Turn 4-5 the red indicator said for me to shift down to 2 and I did a 3. Pffft..........

Didn't have a strong exit near the Barcelona logo(red area) at 1:44. Well at least I'm making an effort, I'll give myself credit for that. Most younger drivers may not try much on this, but I might be proven wrong.

Better !!

At the bridge (0:33) your should be on the left of the track, there is at least enough space on your left for one car. It compromised the following turn.

At 0:56, again you have lot of margin, on your right this time. Thus you slowed too much. On the exit of that turn you can roll over the curbs on the right, widening the turn.

At 1:05, you have again margin on your left entering a right turn. Not praticed this TT since a few days but I think you don't need to brake for this turn, just be completely on the left before the turn, lift and coast until you can apply throttle again. Done correctly you should be on the left of the track when exiting the turn, but there 3 cars could run side by side on your left.

At 1:37 you seem too slow, you should end up on the left of the track when exiting this turn, again at least two car widths available on your left there, you are not on the right place.

Next turn, there at least one car width on your right.

Last turn you are too soon along the inside of the turn. Probably means you are too slow in this turn, you should exit on the left of this turn, left wheels on the green after the curbs.

Why your videos have no sound ?

Thanks a lot for your feedback my friend but but I think I'll test first with the springs that @Vule and @Ian JB recommended. And if it really still doesn't suit me, I'll turn to the V2. Thanks again my friend
No prob. Hey I thought of something I do not like about the Elite V2 Pedals. The throttle pedal is small and square (ish), not long and vertical like on the CSL pedals, and you cannot easily change or adjust the pedal plates! Also the throttle pedal spring is slightly too weak for my taste but I think I could easily make a mod to fix that, or change it with the clutch pedal which has a stiffer spring on it. Something to keep in mind. ✌

What car settings did you use?

You had me worried for a bit there.
Last test for today in Tsukuba :
1'03'011 with optimal time at 1'02'793

My goal has been set.

First session in Tsukuba... I thought the times would be close but not as close as this.
1.03.211 after 100 kilometers, I would have to win 4 tenth to match my best ranking.
Hats off to those with the finesse to get the best out of the NSX.
