New test today in Tsukuba :
First of all I changed the design of the NSX with a special Tsukuba 😍😍 ...

and went back to low ABS after a few tests on default ABS.
Then I watched @Mistah_MCA s video to see the braking points.
All these elements combined meant that I was able to improve my time and go under 1'03 with a time of 1'02'900 and an optimal time of 1'02'786 (like yesterday...)

My goal for my next TT session has been set.... 🤔

(It's a joke, of course) 😂

Bravo my french friend! Your lap not only is fast but smooth!

Been a while..again.. since I've had the time, new job with a one-way distance of roughly 45km to it, and the craving (don't know if that's the right word) for GT7 and read here in the forum. So first of all.. Happy belated Xmas to all of you 🎄🎅 😉

Took a look at the time trials today and thought I should give it a go after 2 months (with one day in that span for a set of weeklies). Really like the Junior Red Bull but not a fan of that Catalunya layout so I tried the NSX. Took a couple of laps to even get into silver. Guess I'm a bit rusty.

Had a km to go for the daily milage and got a 4* Ticket for my efforts which gave me the last invite I needed. So pretty good day I would say 😁

Hi friendos!!

Well I’m very fresh after the pub last night…

Target achieved at Catalunya but not without strife, track limits and those ignorant sausage kerbs and their inconsistent bounce costing me many many laps.. I’m pretty sure to be in the top 10 you just have to get lucky through those kerbs and stay on the power; either that or KDB and others just have an intimate knowledge of them and millimetric precision…

Sadly I don’t have either of those things so blind luck it is 😁 I’m still losing 2-3 tenths of a second through there as the rest of the lap is on WR pace but we are still happy with that!

Wasn't very motivated to get back to Tsukuba, but my morning session was some kind of encouraging.
No idea why (maybe i was sleeping on a roadmap of Stelvio), but i felt comfortable with the hairpins and did 6 or 7 laps in the .3's knowing that there is still room for improvement.

My second session of the day, was back to normal... no clue how i was running .3's in the morning. 🤣🤣
But out of nowhere got my best run until S2...
IMG_20241228_181341.jpg

Turn 1 wasn't very good and i didn't nail the final corner, so i can see another 0.1s. But there is no chance for a top spot, so no need to torture myself this time. 😂

That’s enough chicane torture for this time. Not pursuing this any further.

Thanks for the ghost, good sir. A handful trying to keep up...

Right trigger for gas, left trigger for brake, circle and X for gears up and gears down respectively, left stick for steering. ABS default but he has used weak ABS before, combo dependant.

My time will definitely need to hold for me to win this TT, as I won't be in a position to defend my lead If someone trumps it.

Great to hear from you again mate! Been a while!!
Thanks for the info. I use X for downshifts and Square for upshifts so the other way around, O X is one of the new episodes of Squid Game :D. I tried maximum sensitivity of 10 for controller on this and seemed better, do you know what he uses? Impressive lap he managed. Not really done a time trial for a while on GT7 so was happy my first lap was good enough to be into the 1:25's at least and comfortably Gold. Was a relief to see that time as I was expecting to be way off initially given how bad the first few attempts at starting the lap were. Kind of cheated though as I watched your lap beforehand to learn where the limit was. By the way I noticed you weren't on full throttle temporarily before starting the lap, were you aware of that?

I ended up driving a bit extra to get the daily marathon reward, kept on bottling the final chicane on some laps to get into the 1:24's, only managed to do it reasonably good on rubbish splits which ended up being my fastest lap and called it quits as it got me in the top 800. I think I could have got probably just into the top 100 but beyond that, would probably really have to spend a lot of time to get anywhere near the top pad players as it is quite easy to lose a lot of lap time in just a single corner. Interesting watching L-Shooter's lap, might try late downshift technique and see how that goes next time I attempt a time trial.

Great to see you are very competitive still with your technique, quite unique and kind of Senna-esque. Quite fitting with the new NSX time trial. Amazed you still remember me as you must have loads of people following you since, great times back then mate. I ended up playing mobile games as easier to be on the limit but a lot of them have kind of ended so have stopped playing. Some of the prizes were amazing though, would be good if GT offer more opportunities one day than really just game credits for time trials like even something like a studio tour would be incredible!

I might get a wheel again once Logitech release a smaller direct drive wheel, I have tried the DD Pro and T-GT and T-GT II but feedback from the standard controller feels better to me so just stick to that as it's simpler. Only disadvantages are hairpins especially in faster cars and the really fast cars, more flowing circuits it is easy to be more competitive. Might try and go for a world record one day on GT but it's going to be difficult with so many fast players, hopefully you manage some on GT7. I think I only managed some records on the Beta of GT Sport but not one on a main title. Have managed on other racing games though. I hope they improve physics a lot for the next title as I think previous games like GT5P and GT5, it was easier to feel the limit on traction. One of the reasons why I think GT Sophy is so fast is due to the room to improve on multiple throttle inputs as the physics are kind of sketchy on power giving an uneasy feeling, at least for me. Not sure how others find it?

TT-BC-RBX-10laps-3.jpg

New 10 laps stint. No improvement on best lap.

Light improvement in optimal and medium lap time, despite some bad laps.

Most of the time I get to the bridge with 0.3s gained, and manage to loose most of it in turn 5 and 7.

The part where I loose much time is the end of the track, with the chicane, turn 14 especially.

Morning folks,

Tsukuba is beginning to be a weird challenge for me timewise, some sessions I actually don't hit anything and only run low .6 and occassionaly a high 5....
Then 30 minutes later I can run six 1:02.4xx laps in a row with very low optimal of somewhere in the 1:02.2xx but it's just to few of good laps as an output,

@Ed_Night I'm very curious what you think is the part that makes staying in the top 100 here that difficult, is it the amount of necessary trailbraking?, which was a lot easier prior the latest updates?? (Imo) Is this one harder on pad due to that?

I restart often so not having an OPT of the whole session but have a lot of these ones ...
🙈

Had somany 4' s this morning and eventually binned a realy promising lap beeing -150 below my new PB but got sideways on the last exit 😡😡🤣

But again....this should hold for a few hours 🤣🤣

This is exactly how I feel with this one, except with a slower time 🤣

Motion steering has felt so twitchy since the last update too, so cars that were fun are no longer fun.

I did try to do a bronze drift lap in this but could only hit 1:10.***

After getting the feel for the car I then went for a normal gold lap and that was when I really felt the twitchy side to the controller, I changed all the settings many times, but was most consistent with all settings set to 10 (how I used to be many updates ago).

So I was ready to enjoy this one and push on it, but now I don't feel that I will.

Laps are pretty consistent sometimes, then others it's just an understeery mess.

Hello there and good morning

Last night I had another go at Tsukuba however with no improvement.

I had tons of 1:03:0's and 1:03:1's. My splits were always close to my best ones, along side that I have nothing else to bring to the track meaning I hit a roadblock. I guess from now on it would be only an exercise of repetition.

That's a withdrawal then. So, 1:02:9 it is for me.

Here is my lap:

The onboard:

Have a nice Sunday folks. 😎

The good thing is you got an OPT of 1:02.6 w
which is more than descent! 😁😁, that means you gotta go again 🤣
I would say 3 tenths on the OPT is to much to quit, you gotta hammertime buddy 😁

The results for TT120 at Goodwood Motor Circuit in the Renault Sport Mégane Trophy '11 are over here.
I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and will shortly update the second post with the community scoreboards.

Here are some interim statistics for TT121 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout in the Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Junior.

Stop trying to tempt me ✋🏻 the OPT is tempting enough 🤣

I was looking at it thinking I should go again but my consistency gap is too big for me to keep trying to improve, I may give it another try next weekend 👀

Hello racers, here's my shiny yellow nugget in case you're interested:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241228183412.jpg

As I've said here, I really enjoyed this combo... especially the fact that I could get behind the wheel of a FF car, which sadly doesn't happen very often for Time Trials.
It was one of those events when you love it and hate it at the same time :D, when you get it right it's a lovely experience, almost like touching the heavens... but when you don't get it right (which happened to most of my laps...) then it's pure hell, a real struggle indeed (of course I'm talking about that horrendous chicane).

Well, at least the following TT didn't have another awful chicane, right? RIGHT?!
Of course it did... :grumpy:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241228190706.jpg

Like many of you guys already stated, this is a nice car, I find it to be very predictable and fun to drive (unlike its bonkers big brother...)
And actually, I quite like this track... but going through the chicane is not a nice experience, not as bad as Goodwood, but still not good.

Did a few laps yesterday, 65km in and this is where I'm standing. Gold is not that far away, but from this point any sort of progression is going to get more and more tricky.

We'll see if I can find any more tenths, as usual it's all a matter of having enough free time and willpower to bother with this.

Oh, and by the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you guys!

As I managed to bring the Jr. into gold (at least for now) I went for a first stint to Tsukuba.
194133b35028-screenshotUrl.jpg

I am not too happy with the tyres and went TC2 and ASM light to get below 1:04. I really like that track and had a blast recently with a Civic... but Honda is not Honda. 😉

Silver for the moment and maybe that is the end of this story. 😐

Try with mixing up the aids mate, maybe try just using ASM (although honestly I don't think it helps much in this one)

Try dialling the TC to 1 and having Counter Steer on weak.

The fast guys will pipe in but my take is that this one is all on the braking and the cleanest and fast exit. Following the ghosts I get ahead of the top 30 ghost in to T1 but he consistently gets a better exit so I'm braking too late and too hard. Coast the apex exits.

First time over xmas I had some free time today so it was off to Japan, and although I don't much like this fiddly track (sorry Esteban), the car is predictable and powered me round to a respectable 1:02.291

IMG_9672.JPG

Seeing a few ABS off times mentioned above I thought I'd celebrate by giving it a shot and after 10 laps was roughly 1 sec slower, so if you enjoy smoking tyres and never seeing an apex this is definitely the way to go...

IMG_9673.JPG

Would be fun to have an "ABS off" TT one day though!

I tried Tsukuba/ NSX with a controller, AT, weak ABS, weak CSA and flat screen.

This one should be good for controller/ auto transmission players that struggle.
Seems very do-able with AT, some of these TTs seem really hard to gold with AT.

My goal with a wheel / MT / VR will be around 1:03.000 to start off. Fun car though!

The only reason I'm including this vid is because it auto-uploaded to PS app and it was no extra work uploading it to youtube.
And it looks cool. 😁

CSA never kicked in yo! Guess I didn't need it.

After spending one hour last night not being able to do a proper sector 1, tonight was much more productive, got into the rhytm and did a very nice almost clean lap, my best throttle control to date probably, and the result is also nice :)

19414705fc724-screenshotUrl.jpg

This car, on these tires is so hard to control, at least for me, the line between understeer and oversteer on corner exit is so thin, you can probably see it only under a microscope. Also the steering angle, 1 degree too little, understeer, 1 degree too much, oversteer, ruined lap either way. Seeing the top ghosts doing their right foot witchery when they blip it just for a split second to angle the car and then releasing to 50-60% and continuing to accelerate at 80%, it's just impossible for me, but that's what is obviously needed to go under 1:02 here.

The lap, bottled the last corner a bit, maybe .170 is possible but I doubt I can repeat the rest of the lap like this.
