Last time that I can do a stint in the early hours of a new TT before I will be back at work next week. I wached laporty's and tidgney's lap and tried the genesis - "just" a 48.8.

So I waited for @Tidgney guide, thank you very much! I picked the Ford and got quite fast an optimum of a low 46.1. But I wasn't able to get a good lap together. I threw a good lap in T1 or bus stop away. It took me 11 laps to get both quite good together.

So it was not that easy @Tidgney in comparison to the Focus at RA where I will now go back to reach a 32.

Thanks this forum I am able to fight for gold so often.

Well, I suppose I'll give the Daytona Road Course a go this afternoon.

@NevilleNobody you're right, I do get nervous a lot near the corners and bollards there, but I can't help it. I can't imagine driving a real car in life which I have never done due to my disability and autism. Well I'll keep watching and following Tidgney's guides and trying to see my friends replays.

It's still weird though how some of the top 100-200 drivers has a blue icon next to their time showing their replay, while me and most of my friends shows no icon next to their times, meaning I can't view mine or their replays from that point of view.

Tried the Genesis first and boy o boy does that thing not like any turning angle under braking or acceleration! Switched to a non meta car and found myself a tenth faster despite lacking in straight line speed. Fun combo 😁

It's a great combo especially with everything (pretty much) being viable, the only oddity is I'm doing this in VR and still adapting the banking doesn't "feel natural" if that makes sense? It's not a problem just something different.

Adjusting to the different brake markers as well as in VR my braking has changed quite a bit in that I have more fidelity for want of a better word on it.

Nobody answered my question about the ABS a few days ago. Is there a difference if I set it to default? I normally have it on the weak setting. Which probably means the car won't be that stable while braking during hard turns and corners, even U-turns or esses. Thought I'd ask again because I'm getting nowhere hardly. Well I'm glad there's a larger variety of Gr. 3 cars to select out there to race at Daytona. That's all I know.

I wish I had a dollar for everytime I fumbled a lap, went off-course or ignored people's advice here, I'd be a millionaire or even an even more rich fellow than that. I can see now why I struggled in school for 12-13 years, I get confused and don't pay attention clearly due to my autism.

Honestly no for me or you mate, for the fast guys sometimes it makes a difference.

It's not the ABS intervention that is our issue, it's how we are braking in the first place that is the thing.

Just try it and see how it works for you, it might work better or worse. I've found that I'm changing less and less stuff and just getting comfortable with how I drive before looking for those last bits of improvement.

Ok, thank you for the advice, it's Glen to the rescue! I'll do the best I can based of my ability.
Honestly Chris bud that's all I'm doing and most of us are doing.

Just think every time you do a lap where can you improve and do it incrementally like each corner at a time. That's how I do it, but I'm just in a different place in my journey that's all.

Hi fellas

Been on a bit of a GT7 mission these last few days.. very small improvement at RA, very tricky to get extra time here as per reasons we’ve mentioned before; it’s interesting how every lap seems to be different thanks to the tyre modelling. Again it’s more trial and error with this trial to get a decent lap; I think I can find another tenth to match @bliprunner and his excellent time but yeah it’s gonna be more luck than judgement 😁

@Chris30

You can visit your friends' galleries and check if they have a replay.

Find a replay 1 to 2 seconds faster than you, I think it can help.

You can register it in your collection and choose it before your turn.

If I am confident with a car, I use low ABS.

If I have trouble, I use ABS by default.

Same logic for traction control from 0 to 2.

I watched your replay. I also think you brake too late for your pace, it takes you away from the ideal line and prevents you from using more track width.

All good! Thanks for asking :D

Gr3 cars are just not my thing. I'm sure I can get it down to the mid or even low 45s if I grind, but just don't feel like grinding lately 🫠 Gold and run it is!
Good to hear Muffin :)

Yes GR3 here on hards... i don't like it, i like the struggle on track, i like the lack of understeer and love the amount of oversteer when hitting throttle, but that busstop is one of the worst in history on this combo.
I tried remote nokia for a few laps and smashed down the laptop..
what an absolute hideous end of a nice flowing lap , i was hoping it was better like with the 911 we did here ( i think my fastest TT placed 29 ) .......... but it's just.....:lol:, are you in 4th or 3th with the viper?

This is absolutely critical, and it's what I see in a lot of lobbies.

People out brake themselves (in the dailies you can see this or be punted)

Braking is literally what this game is about and mostly in TT the weight transfer.

Brake or lift early, set yourself up for the corner, rinse and repeat.

Ghosts are great when you are dialled in but you sort of have to know your way round in the hardware first to get the most from them.

If you want to go faster brake earlier and accelerate earlier. If you do it the other way round you are gaining a tenth going in and losing 4 on the exit. Smooth is about flowing.

Just a few laps this evening. I do like the track and the Genesis is one of my favorite cars in game but I don't see myself playing much of this one. Not into the downforce. Very similar to previous one at Spa. Safe gold and I'm out. Hopefully this stays good.

Goodluck folks and Happy Hunting!

It took my a reallllly long time to connect braking with car balance. That being said, doing it well is another story lol. But when you nail the trail-braking and accelerate out and see the delta obliterated, good feeling.

You can’t be 0%-100%-0% with the brake

I'll give you a little secret, I do trail brake now but it's only if I can get it right, feeding off and in is hard. But genuinely you don't need to.

You can be extremely fast just following the stuff we were taugh, brake in a straight line, carry the speed and when you feel like you can see the exit just go.

A lot of people focus on the inputs but just using your eyes is probably faster.

Look at the exit not the apex, the apex is where you'll naturally aim for, your eyes looking down road will give you much faster and smoother acceleration exits. We are all driving, so focus on where you want to be not where you are.

Had a meeting cancel on me, so instead of being work productive, I went back to Daytona! Noticed several of y’all on the Viper (which became a personal fav in GT4) and gave her a spin.

The rear sure likes to shoot out sliding! Put TC1 after 5-laps and for me it made a huge difference on T1 and the turn from infield to the oval. Loved that I could really fly into the bus stop.

I knew that New Year's Resolution would come back to haunt me

Time to draft @Dolph Drago again, and now side drafting with @NicoGmbh too. Stop running away from me, you two!!

I am glad that the Ford GT '18 is a competitive option though.
