Couldn't it be possible that while the game tracks tyre temperature, hence it's available in telemetry data, it simply doesn't use it as an input to its physics engine in time trials? Although, to counter my own point, I would then expect it to work the same way for tyre wear, i.e. you can observe it in telemetry, but it has no effect.

In any case, I am also in the camp of people who restart all the time and often have my fastest lap after a restart 🤷‍♂️

In other news, my internet is back. 🥳

Will reactivate the plug-in after I get home from work.
yes that's prob. what's going on, looking at the temp go higher ( i think the GTR back then went to 79 or something compared to the 58 start if i remember correctly ) didn't make it feel very different tho, i intent to push from lap one, first corner i'm pushing already, i'd rather restart 10 times then have a few 50% laps, it's all or nothing

But still weird temp do change on the dash, in my opinion only rimsize sometimes is a problem and for the rest i should not make a difference right .... or do we also have different sound with another exhaust in trials??:lol:

This is not only entirely possible, but at least in Sport Mode Qualifying actually the case, according to @Tidgney's YT video on tyre temps. Unfortunately the video doesn't cover online Time Trials and I don't have anywhere near the same consistency or pace to make anything more than an assumption based on my own observations.

Yes. Just because there is data does not mean the data is used in the game. Maybe a strawman argument, but a non-car physics element is evident at the current Daytona TT. Wind data is 0 mph, but look at the flags around the track; all waving as if there is a stiff breeze.

Definitely NOT a safe time by a long shot, so I'll be back in later to improve.

But to play devils advocate @half_sourly the concept of dirty tires is used and affects grip, the same with over heating them. Albeit both of these are temporary affects but temperature is a factor in the latter.

🤔
Indeed. We'll never know without seeing the algorithms. A lot of unanswered questions.

It's fun to speculate, very much the same thing with engine oil and bop!! I mean in dailies QT/Race and TTs it wears the oil but with bop it's suppose to equalise the cars so why not just freeze the wear & mileage for them :P

Like you say the mysterious black box that is GT and PD!

Does worn oil slow your car? Do tire temps really matter??

Alright, plug-in is working again!
Here are some interim statistics for TT125 at Daytona Road Course in the Gr.3.

Wow, P6 on the GTP board currently, that's crazy! Also it seems like trying to get my 3rd top 100 in this TT of all things is a foolish effort, seeing that pretty much everyone trails significantly behind their best placements. Well everyone except @A_Higher_Place , and I think we can all agree that there's something fishy going on with this dude recently 😄

Anyway, it's still fun as hell, and placing high on the board is motivation enough with or without the 👽 badge.

Will still try the Testarossa later tonight and, judging from prior experience, probably completely forget about Daytona and focus on the shiny new thing ;)

I quickly did a remote blast around with the Testarossa, not thr most ideal combo to remote, that's funny cause the Focus was VERY good on remote....
I don't know... tomorrow we try a first real session...

What I learned just yet....

  • brake early
  • brake more early
  • A V12 is indeed heavy upfront
  • T1 is fire with this thing!

Shall take a while to master this fine line under and oversteer beauty, but come on... ...what's better than a Testa on SH's ?
( I know ...F40 would have been better 🤣 )

Somewhere is the 38.3 ....buy that's not the point .....look at it! ❤️🤣
