Anyone who hadn't put in a decent lap yet in the Testarossa kinda got screwed lol. I think I'm nearly half a second slower now compared to pre-update. The car is quite a bit trickier to get around corners...
Yeah I tried it again for comparison and was 2 tenths slower
The car doesn't snap under breaking so it's just understeers massively now, so to compensate you have to brake earlier
Although on the other hand you can attack the kerbs a bit more

I also did a few laps in the Testarossa now after the update.... my lovely loose goosey is kind of gone now... they killed it 😭
It's way more understeery now so indeed you have to brake earlier, it steps out a bit less on exit but feels like they added some extra weight to it or something and getting it rotated is way more difficult than prior the update, kind of a real big difference on the physics on pad if you ask me.

I will adapt to it like every other time but that is going to cost some time 😡🤪

As for right now..... not realy a fan 🤣

F3500 on Monza took way more time to gold it than it usually takes to gold a TT, took me 4 sessions, needed to turn on Traction control...

I think that update is in right direction at least for me on Gyro/ motion control

I ran 150 miles post update and fell short of beating my time by half a tenth, so the new physics engine didn't reallyalter the limit for this TT 🤟.

The benefits of this new engine is that you can really get on the power much easier during corner exits, but the downside is there's just a tad more turn-in understeer, particularly noticeable at the 2 tight corners (turn 2 and the penultimate corner).

I uploaded this lap in-game If you need some tips.

No it may not have altered the limit per se, but I think it made reaching the limit more difficult. It's exactly as you say - speed now is found by getting on the power on corner exit. I find a ton more understeer myself and the car just isn't as easy to get pointing where you want it to go...but of course the real fast guys will adapt and be just as fast likely. I bet that 150 miles you did for no gain would have resulted in a decent gain pre-update. I got within a couple tenths of my PB last night, but pre-update my optimals were half a second better than my PB.

BTW, I'm not complaining about the update. I'm ok with the changes. Just observing the effect...

Hello TT community, I have some sad news to share. About 2 hours after I made my last post here, my mom started getting real sick and throwing up and having dizzy spells. See she got the chemotherapy a month ago and is still having side effects from it. She's 54; going on 55. So, I was fixing to do the Monza TT when all of a sudden she fainted and fell on the floor, I had to call the paramedics. So, while they were on the way(we live an hour away from the nearest ER), I had to call the local pawn shop(which they close at 6pm) and sell my ps5. I had to take a taxi to the pawn shop and back home. I got $300 for it, so my mom could have enough to buy food in the hospital. So once again I had to make another sacrifice in order to save my mother's life. See here, it's gone:

So, I'm going to call another taxi in a little bit to go stay with her in the hospital, I had to pack some clothes, food and other last minutes items while she was in the waiting room. Family is more valuable than doing time trials, so I guess gt7 will have to go for now. If I don't get another ps5 before gt7 dies, I just want to say thank you all for supporting and helping me on the TT journey for almost 3 years. I had a lot of fun competing and racing with you guys, but my mom is the most important thing in my whole life.

Even though I was off topic half the time, and we got into some debates and arguments at times, but you all have been way more supportive than my narcissistic grandparents, they threw us out 10 years ago with significant health issues. I will truly miss this game and TT's, but I had to save my mom's life. I will miss the fun times we had doing each and every lap challenge, but sometimes you have to do things in life you don't want to, never take things for granted. Saving your family is much more important than a game.

Whoever reads this post, please send prayers and positive vibes for my mom, thank you. Farewell gt7, I will be back for gt8 once I am able to buy another ps5, so I'll let you all know when I fully return to playing TT's.

Courage Chris. 💪💪
The whole community gives you strength to overcome all this !!!!

Well, I am complaining about the update  because after my initial session with the Testarossa, I was grinding Daytona like a maniac trying to beat @Dan_Tes and completely ignored Brands Hatch, thinking I will have many more opportunities after thursday. But with the new physics, it will probably be impossible for me to improve my time, I just gave it half an hour and barely managed to pull one proper sector 1, turn 2 is literally like I'm driving a different car, absolutely no turn in, trying to compensate it with the throttle just results in a spin, sector 2 is also much more difficult, you must brake earlier for turn 3 and turn 4 is just straight on understeer if you try to take it like before the update... Rest of the lap I think can be done ok-ish, but I lose so much time in the first 3 sectors, it's pointless...

lol, yeah there's no doubt about it - the Testarossa ain't what she used to be! It's not the fun ride it was a week ago.

This fake F1 car is very strange. I hated it in low downforce mode for the weekly challenge at High Speed Ring, didn’t even finish the race. Send it to a proper circuit with the default setup and it’s absolutely fantastic.

Managed a silver quite quickly and it was such a sloppy lap (especially at the first chicane) I can actually see a path to gold. Using TC3, max stick sensitivity on Dualsense Edge.

For now I'm going to leave this F1 and Monza aside. It's impossible for me to do better and reach the golden medal.
So I came back to Brands Hatch and the Testarossa. With the new physics, it seemed to me to be inconducible. The adaptation time was long but in the end I was able to improve my time to 1'37'828 with an optimal time still around 1'37'5xx

This...... 100%....
Feels totally different than before.
Very annoying in the middel of a running challenge 🤔🤔

@Chris30 good luck with mom

I don't really know why they are doing this. Every single time some major physics update is released, it feels worse than before. They just polished the 1.49 update, and now they just added some more understeer to it and "fixed" things nobody was complaining about.

I think I'm going to take a break from driving for a bit, I was just on a roll last couple of months with some nice TT times in all categories, but this just kills it for me, motivation to sit behind a wheel is minus 1000, Testarossa is impossible to improve, F1 on Monza is a joke, ultra-fast cars in GT7 always felt like a broken Need For Speed game, and this is no exception, I didn't complete even half a lap with a decent time in like 50 attempts, so it's for sure a pause for me, at least until the next TT.

Small update (hope everyone had a good week)... went to Brands Hatch first, but I'm just not enjoying this test, whether it's with the old physics or the new, but it was a point of comparison for the new physics. For what it's worth, I was able to string 5 or 6 valid laps together in a row with the new physics, which tended to not be the case previously. Moved to Monza - just wow. Just outside gold after my first 100 miles (which sounds like a lot but went by very quickly) - no ghost or guide video yet, so will check those and see where I'm going wrong, but I think most of the problem is going to be in the final sector. Cheers

Not a fan of this update either. Feels like braking is completely neutered and you're just punished for trail braking again.
My driving style is completely shot with these physics and considering I play other sims that actually don't punish trail braking, it quite frankly just kills any interest I have in playing the game because I will have to constantly re-learn how to not brake properly.
Thought what we had was near perfect barring some oddities with the suspension. No idea why they had to reinvent the wheel instead of just applying the fixes to the suspension and leaving the rest.

On a hard fought 24.7 with the F1 car with ABS off (least punishing for my driving style now) but little desire to improve.
Cars pretty though so that's something.
