@crome Don't worry, I'm hurting too.

Likewise 😂😂😂

Amazing time amigo that hard work paid off though

Largely unsatisfying session for me, I quickly ran out of wine and crackpot theories which no doubt hindered… a new PB set but two laps out of about a million where I thought I was home and dry and then inexplicably lost it coming out of the final part of the Parabolica… they were my sub 1:23.6 chances and I blew them both… doh! It be like that some days.

One last chance before I go away tomorrow, I shouldn’t really waste any time on this one but… I probably will. I’m infected with the time trial disease sadly!!

Morning folks,

While everybody is trying to tame the F3500-A, wich I already gave up on after the safe gold , I had one last go on Brands.... just to see if I could figure out what the heck they did to it and if see if I could benefit from it, just after thr update dropped I already had a go and went from 37.118 to a 37.0 something so there was progression but so hard to actually have good solid laps..

This morning it took me ages to get a descent S1 ...midsection went ok-ish but the real bugger was the sand/gras on the very last turn..... throttle wobble or grabbing sand...

Finally had a more descent lap, but S1 was kind of bad, and again Hawthorn was FAR from ideal...but with a better last sector I finally broke into the 36's and should be enough for an extra top 100 🤪🥳

Maby it was the change to Testa red 🤣

Very much done with this 2 weeks now....

so, your thought on update now after many laps ? Controller? Physics ? you did improved, which many claim is impossible, so what is your opinion today?

I've posted this in the Physics thread (don't ask, more than happy to move on from those discussions and that thread!) and also in the dailies thread I posted the same video.

My driving style is quite direct and I force a fraction bit of turning in to get a moment of understeer to get the grip back at a slightly tighter angle and better exit angle. Does any of you aliens have some DD Pro settings I could try to avoid this horrific shaft shake?

(It's bad all the way through but really harsh at .37s, it's only a min long)

This is sector 1 at Nurbs GP in Gr3 (650s)

What wheel do you have, some have an internal vibration system which engages especially when understeering, I turned it off! In the settings on the steering wheel the SHO is displayed if there is one.

And i advise you to show the INT almost at the max I have 17 to reduce the vibrations.

*Force Feedback Interpolation (INT) (default = 6)
Force Feedback Interpolation “INT” filters and smoothens the incoming rough game FFB signal and increases the refresh rate. For example, some games use a 60Hz FFB signal, which can feel very rough and noisy, but this can be fixed with the Force Feedback Interpolation. By increasing the value, you reduce the rough feeling and increase the smoothness of the signal. You can set the value to OFF, meaning that you will get unfiltered raw force feedback signal. To enable the interpolation, the value must be set from 1 to 20.

I did quite a few laps post update now and I think the biggest difference lies in braking, before you could just more slam the brakes and trailbrake your way in, that seems far more difficult, releasing brake and rotate at the same time doesn't work that effective on the pad but.....it does rotate better when braking harder for a while ( and earlier ) and fully let of the brakes and coast for a moment.
So after this session ( but only did the Testarossa) I'm kind of positive, yes I think it's more difficult but it is more predictable in a way.... plus instead of what a lot claim here, I think it's more stable on exits 😁

But right after the update I took a stock Huracan out on Interlagos and that was a very unpleasant experience.... so much understeer what resulted in rattling duelsense....
No feeling when understeer would occure and if it does.... it's to late..
But that kind if a different experience of what i had with the Testarossa this morning, felt better and got used to it, so maby ill have another go at Interlagos to see if it has changed, maby I was to quick with the verdict.

Hello my TT friends, a quick update. Me and my mom got back from the ER Monday night around 6pm. We settled in and ate plenty of food the past 20-24 hours, so I didn't even get online much. I miss the ps5 and I dreamed about racing in the F3500 car in Madrid, Spain.

@Guffaluff I could be permanently absent from the time trials. It depends on if I can get another ps5 before gt7 dies. Hopefully that won't happen until at least 2-3 more years because there are 500 cars and 60-70 track layouts, so the probability ratio is high. There could be a possible 35,000 TT's using different car/track combos.

Forgot to say that the chemotherapy caused my mom to lose most of her hair, she's almost bald. Was a shock to me because she's always had her hair most of her lifetime. I see you all have been having somewhat fun with this new special Monza TT, but some may not be thrilled with the car effects/track.

I am starting to hit a wall in my transition to a wheel, I have the F3500 at 3.5% at both Monza and Barcelona but cannot coax more time from it. As I improve from 7,6,5,4% to more competitive times, other than moving to MT (I use MT at Monza) I think where I am struggling is braking consistency and feel. I have the Fanatec load cell and TBH the lack of travel is starting to bother me, it is very stiff even with the elastomer in place and I cannot intuitively feel where I am at in terms of brake force very well. More practice needed!

Change the elastomers with springs you will have a wider travel !

In the interests of science, I've run now a broadly equivalent distance with and without different aids, specifically how I'm using TCS and what happens when I use CSA which I'd never even turned on before. As we know from running these Time Trials, there's an element of luck in how you catch track limits etc. but the distance driven should normalize some of this out.

Batch A - This includes track/car familiarization, so maybe the first chunk of this batch doesn't fall inside the bell curve (and I might switch back to this setting and see if I settle at the same pace). TCS 2 after trying 1 and 0. Honestly TCS0 isn't that much harder, but this is more about repeatability of laps. Accel zones out of the first two chicanes, and navigating the curbs through Ascari are the trouble spots. Settled on TCS2 even though I felt faster on 1. Best lap 1:24.681 and optimal splits of 1:24.558 after 230 miles driven.

Batch B - Turn on CSA strong, turn TCS from 2 to 1. Beat my time on the 7th lap. Beat that time on the 15th lap, beat that time again on the 33rd lap to end up on a 1:24.534. So CSA strong gets me 0.15s? Yes and no... optimal splits went from 1:24.558 to 1:24.022! So in theory it's worth half a second in my hands (and feet). Ran a quick session the following morning. No improvement in lap time, but similar optimal splits. Ran another session this morning - optimal again very strong at 1:24.1 and a best as shown below.

As noted above, I've not used this before, and may not again, but it's an interesting experiment that will be made even more interesting when I go back to the batch A settings. Before that I want to run a little more with CSA Strong and see how close I can get to a 24 flat within reason. For now though, your move @crome Sir ;) (and thanks for the tip :P )

CSA is the big mystery setting to me. I always run with weak which is VERY unobtrusive. When set to strong it goes crazy, constantly flickering. So when it is flickering is it sapping power or is it just preventing you from rotation? Monza is all about exits, rotation is not a huge issue.

It's been discussed quite a bit in this thread, so feel free to revisit these older discussions, but in essence it takes out some of the nervousness in steering, especially for wheel users. If you're worried about performance loss, don't be: it's been proven again and again that you can easily get into top 100 territory with CSA strong.

Hello friends and friendesses! I said I shouldn’t really try this one again, but I tried it again. Spurred on by @A_Higher_Place ’s revelation that my strange placebo routine is actually making him faster, I was determined to better my PB before I tootle off to work later tonight not to be seen until both current trials are done..

Needless to say a lack of wine was probably a big help. I find the chicane at Roggia a right sob as track limits are JUST awkward enough to make it really difficult to get round quickly. Braking slightly earlier than normal seemed to help as just like most of Monza it’s corner exit where it all really matters. I also brought my braking point into Ascari forward a bit and focused on entering more smoothly and overall at a higher speed. Both seemed to do the trick!

A couple of laps earlier I had set a 28.235 (clean!) S1 so I know there’s another tenth of a second or so here but that time is more than satisfying for me…! ABS weak, TC0, CSA off, retry free zone

(YouTube videos incoming including VR POV)

See you soon everybody •waves•

I thought wine helped you improve heavily in each of the TT's? Anyways good luck with the rest of Monza and enjoy your vacation. It's always superior being up at the top of the crowd isn't it? Dan's the man with the plan!
