Hi,

@NevilleNobody...

"It's all exits, getting on the gas like 1 tenth earlier on all three chicanes is worth like 2 seconds a lap, it's insane."

Ohhh... Reach out and help me now brother! If I could manage to get on the throttle at the right time, in the right position and at the right amount. I would be a full blown Alien every time. My problem is always the wrong time in the wrong place and the wrong amount. I just need to have more seat time and grow some bigger {insert your own word here}

@KK78...

I am beginning to think that this, just might be, possibly, maybe, could be, I wonder?, Is it really? Me? Then I refer myself back to the answer I gave the gentleman some moments earlier...

I just need to have more seat time and grow some bigger {insert your own word here}

I have had some seat time this evening. Monza in the F1 car. Re-start. Re-try. Exit. Rinse. Repeat. At my level of skill vs ambition, I really cannot see a difference. For me, I think it could how loud the dogs are barking or which way the wind is blowing!

Best regards to all here.

Ian

Here's my (sneaky?) move...

Didn't go chasing that tempting opt, but did chase @Metalgear9493 's insane ghost so thank you for that sir, extremely useful.

Took a while to get my head round the physics change but a week on I'm mostly ok with them, did the Manufacturers race today in the Alfa and that felt good. Do agree with everyone (including Jordan in the GTP video) who dislikes the more aggressive understeer BZZZZZZZZ though, hope they dial it down a bit.

I don't like aggressive understeer either. Wow, that was sneaky indeed brother!! Maybe you will get a time in the low 1'36.000's or even a high 1'35.XXX time. But it's really up to you what decision you make. Oh, and I must say that picture you took of yourself and that Red Ferrari Testarossa was pretty awesome. When did you actually buy that car, it has a real good paint job to it. I miss that TT, I was on a mini-roll about 10 days ago. Oh well...good luck with your mission!

I didn’t get around to posting but this was from two days ago, just dropped a few positions since, so that’s cool. Didn’t try this one before the physics change but honestly it felt fine to me. Sure, quite a bit of understeer but a pleasant enough drive.

Also gave the F3500-A a first attempt tonight and can’t exactly use the word pleasant here. Quite a handful, very tough to keep control of this thing. Only at a 24.5 so far, hoping to at least cut off half a second tomorrow if possible... Travelling to Austria for some skiing on Friday and will be back after this one is over so have to get it done tomorrow.

First time trial post for the new year. Have been participating in the other trials, but not giving too much energy to them as they didn't capture my interest all that much. Probably a bit tired of trials after putting in a huge effort with the S2000 at Grand Valley.
Most of my results have been around the top 400 or so, top 300 at best.

Only 1 session in the Testarossa last night, about 150km worth. Managed a 1:37.167 with an optimal of 36.85X. This was good enough for 165th at the time, probably dropped a little now.

Found the Testarossa to have brakes made of the finest Italian cheese, don't think I've ever driven a car around Brand's Hatch where I had to brake so early for every corner. Didn't have too much of a problem with the understeer that others are mentioning, unless I out-braked myself which was frequently. This car with a brake upgrade and an exhaust would be quite a bit of fun for me.

Overall, I'm enjoying the physics changes, cars are far more predictable and smooth to drive for me, which leads to overall more driving enjoyment. Although I've yet to attempt many racing cars yet, so that still remains to be seen.

Going to be quite busy in the coming weeks, so my new challenge might be to see how high up the leaderboard I can get in a single session, as opposed to doing multiple sessions over the fortnight.

Hello TT friends!

A serious comeback to the hard TT work for this special car!
If in my early teens I could afford a dream car poster, it would be the Testarossa, no doubt, preferably with some Miami style backdrop. So however bad this car drives or slidey tires it's equipped with, I'm in!

I was a little rusty in the TT department lately (last serious TT I ran in July), so I dedicated three whole days of my free time to get into the rhythm and clock some decent lap.

In summary:
  • 8:26 hours of real time driving
  • 302 laps completed
  • 2 badly sore thumbs (directionals + X/[], remember?)
On the last day I was running 36.9 optimal, but it doesn't mean anything in my case, I'm so terrible to put those sectors together. Running about +1 second on the optimal was ok, but I wasn't really satisfied with that.
Finally on the 111st lap of day 3 I was able to line up some decent sectors together and come up with this:

TT-BrandsHatch-Testarossa-almost.jpg

  • time under 2% of WR ✔️
  • firmly into top 1000 ✔️
  • last but not least, once again (maybe last time?) ahead of our dear Jerome! ✔️ Sorry my friend, you are my TT target!

Happy with this, but the stress of reaching the self-imposed high level expectations is still too much for me right now (real life stresses are just enough), so I won't be back on regular basis. Carry on people!

This effort is a tribute to Sonny Crockett! So let's "head further south, where the water is warm, the drinks are cold, and I don't know the names of the players".
