Does any noble soul out here prefer keeping the ghost prefix further than 0.1 (0.2 or 0.3 even)?

I'm pleasantly surprised though the fastest time hasn't been bested any further yet otherwise I would've been out of the Gold category.

0.4 - it's nice to have space to drive into without overlapping, plus I like to see the apex clearly at slower corners (like final turn at Alsace). For slower cars 0.3.

I use 0,4 most of time - when want to see my line and time in reference to ghost.
I must test more with 0,3 as it might be a best choice if using ghost for mimicing his driving (turns and breaks etc). Noticed it by chance when eventually started to overtake Ghost by 0,1 is some sectors.
 
I'll see your 0.4 and raise you 0.5.

Works well for me. I also like to have some space so I can actually react to what the ghost is doing. For example if I see brake lights I brake as well (in the first couple of laps at least before I figured out my own braking points). Depends on the speed of the car of course, but I never adjust this setting because, and that's probably a special VR thing: without a proper HUD element, distance from the ghost is the only tool for me to judge how quick I am

For me personally 0.4 if I'm quick, so there is no hinder and don't have to flick it on or off...but it's close enough to notice if you are gaining or loosing, 0 ....h*ll na.... maby if they would give it more transparety but no way now, just not doable in bumpercam for me 🤣🤣
 
Today something strange was happening. I was unable to nail the apexes at turns 5 & 11 (slow corners) but on my quick laps was able to nail turns 15, 16 & 17.

I had set my previous best (1:55:640) with A/T 2 days back & today despite getting lot of invalidated laps here & there, I was able to better my best twice today with M/T..

And more strangely, I was able to get my best time first on lap 6 & then again on lap 11. Usually, I would take more time to get into the flow. My current best time - 1:55:429 I feel should be safe for Gold which for a change is a relief as I usually finish in Silver timing category.

Had a bit of a break from GT7 and absence from time trialing to finish up on some other things.
But never can't go long without some Gran Turismo
Decided to jump back in with the IONIQ 5N.

Man, this is a really nice car. It might be the first EV that I actually really like to drive in game.
Only bummer is, as other already mentioned as well, the Sports Hard tires.
This car drives so much better with Sport Softs. Why is it in time trials, especially with road cars, that we so often have crappy tires on? :grumpy:

Well, it still was fun and this should be good enough for gold

It will be fun & tricky at the same time. Wet weather driving skills is just another planet of adjustment. Looking forward to this. It will surely be better than the TT it's replacing.

I always set it at 0.3 to start with so I can see and react to brake lights.

After I am comfortable and am really chasing times (like the Ioniq TT) then I switch it to 0.2 so it doesn't get in my way but I can see where I am losing time, not taking the best lines or too slow on throttle out of a corner.

P.S. I use bumper cam.

Imma like this one..... like @half_sourly mentioned....no way for a top 100 but this will be a blast to drive, little understeery probably but I like! , but.....what is Fuiji "short"?...

Never mind...... noticed it's only without the chicane 😁🤣

0.2 for most of the time and TTs

I wish there was a button "reset ghost" so one can reset it to pre-decided value at any time I want...also to load two ghosts, I would LOVE that for my comparisons, just imagine chasing both Metalgear and Jeddah at same time....but we know Kaz will ignore my wish this time as well like all other times .....
 
Genuinely awful TT. The car doesn't feel good at all, the overtake button being a parameter is asinine and makes no sense in a TT setting.

Had to hold the controller in an uncomfortable, stupid way to manage that button (recalling the DRS 911 at Daytona in my mind, almost equally annoying) and then to top it all of, the Nürburgring GP chicane. Kill me. Had one passage through on an okay enough lap that the entire lap was made there. At least two tenths behind where I should've been at the final split (just a .579 there), but again, the chicane decided that was the lap. More there but this is too unfun to pursue any further. The desire for sleep wins this race.

And how close is this? 4 GTP'ers bunched together just outside the top 200 globally. (And no worries, @NicoGmbh. You stayed ahead of me despite my improvement :P)

I gave the Hyundai another go last night but no improvement, I couldn't do any better than 1:37.2** again. I should have carried on the other day when I was in the flow of it.

Shame as when I switched it off I was down to position 141 😢

@Mistah_MCA has just been knocked out of the top 100 too 🫣

The top time is also now a 1:35.*** 😯

EDIT: The 2 top times are both now 1:35.9** 😳 L.Shooter jumped in

Well I made it on the replay board, albeit very poor time but still gold... For about a day 🤣

I went out on Inters in a rental, went for a second lap with wets which feel grippier whilst cornering but lose grip when putting power down out of a corner so didn't set another time.

Just a one lap wonder for now.

I see a few others already trying too 😅

Why is the TT named Fuji International Speedway - Short - when the entire length of the track has to be covered?

It's not like how the Nurburgring TT (IONIQ) where a sprint version was used.

I think most people using offset for the ghost are using 0.3.

I usually start with putting @Tidgney 's ghost 0.1s ahead with a reset every sector... That way I can still use his lines by the end of the sector. When i get faster I adjust to 0.2s... I like the ghost close to see the turn in points. Brake points I adapt a little bit (earlier lol) from his vids.

and... throwing it in second gear seems like an anker is thrown out, does engine brake quite well 😂😂

It's the entire track except for the chicane 😁, that's now an very odd corner because my brain thinks chicane 😂😂
