What I love the most about the Sardegna TT is the use of a simple & pretty road car and not some GR machine. I admit the overall speed is slow & gradual but this is what makes it more fun & imo, more real.

The CS tyres have astounding grip which is the biggest surprise for me.

Even if there's no improvement coming, I just love the Sardegna track for the ups & downs in gradient. Plus the track is wide enough for the Z4 which makes it a fun drive whilst trying to drive different lines into a turn or to correct a wiggle and still keep the lap time valid. Will be driving this TT today as well for the sheer fun of it.

Got the hang of it in the end. Changed nothing other than to be a little more aggressive in certain turns and brake a little earlier for others to allow me to get on the throttle earlier.

After struggling to get below a 39.5 this morning, I’m now looking at the possibility of being a whole second faster than that with a couple of tenths on the table to this lap below.

I was really hoping whole evening yesterday some miracle brings same shining on me. But faith prized me only with shaving of 0,1s ending at 1:39:7xxx after 400km.

Eventually I tested many settings with wheelbase/DD pro and they were giving very different filling of heavy tail being little under or full beyond control.
In example DD settings in which I drive Gr3 cars worked on favor of easing the weight transfer .
But biggest change was boosting the Sensitivity in GT7 settings as a desperate move. I set Sensitivity to 10 (with FFB at 6-8) and suddenly front wheels started to help (by stronger centering force) and driving became more pleasent.
Didn't improve times (as came up late) but definitelly it is different control with Sens. 10 in this case. I usually stay with recommented GT7 controls at FFB 5-8 and Sens. 1-2.

Morning folks,

Had a tiny improvement again but again...no top 100 🤣🤣, it's hunting me
It's in there .... but hooking a flawless lap up seems extremely difficult for me here.
Tried buying a new one, maby another tenth if I buy another one? 🤣

Rentals are faster. 🤷‍♂️🍻🍻

I'm trying to pass along all my tips here!

My last session I knocked 6 thousandths off. Huge jump! 😬

Today something amazing happened...Before playing this TT, I took an hour long nap which may have played a role or not I don't know. I was mentally fresh to take this TT head on as I love the flow of this track + Z4.

Not only was I able to lap in 1:39s consistently but for the first time I was able to nail my braking & corner entry into turns 1, 4 & 8 lap after lap. I wasn't following any ghost or using the racing line assist. Never felt so confident earlier with this TT. Don't know if the nap played a part in this...Even though I didn't match my personal best(PB), I wanted to carry on as I was nailing some turns which I haven't done so far.

I was positive about lowering my PB & did so after a few laps by 2 tenths. It was like a relief apart from being a feel good factor as my entire 1 hour play of this TT was filled with positivity. I achieved a new PB of 1:39:039. Maybe my love for road cars & taking a nap (not planned) played a part in today's feel good scenario. My PB lap came with my best 1st sector time where I was nailing turns 1 & 4. I also realized today I was much more lenient with my throttle input which was a big help in turns 4 & 8.

I was nearly dumped from the top 100 so I put a few miles on quick this afternoon to cement my time. I made a nice improvement and if I cared to I probably could get really close to a 47 but I'm going to save myself the anguish. 😂

I'm never competitive with GR4 but man the rain is an equalizer!

Edit;

Also @Dan_Tes staring at the hello cat made me insane but also faster so I thank you, good sir for being fast enough to have a readily available ghost to chase. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🔥

Another blast around Sardegna and it finally clicked in how you can throw the Z4 around, get into the corners quicker and generally be more aggressive, but not too much particularly as you are turning otherwise it just wallows down. I got down to a 1:39.400 and may just leave it there because as much as I've improved, the car still has the propensity to wide me up :D

My apologies for the rapid fire posts but it's my night to play so I've made some good progress in both trials. Finally the elusive 37! It's all about the shift points. I haven't watched any laps but I think I must not be in the right gear in one or two spots because no matter what I do the ghost gets away from me. I'm generally on him through the apex but he just gets a little ahead at the middle left hand banked one before you drop down the hill. Those two successive corners I just can't get perfect. Anyway, I feel pretty stellar this evening. 🍻

@330_D - Epic work this evening! Reward yourself and take the rest of the night off :D

I'm 2000miles + away from my wheel for a couple of days so won't get anymore time in the Subaru this evening, but the time seems to be holding up well for a PB result. Will tackle the last two tenths in the BMW on Friday evening when I get home before moving onto the Unimog at Lake Louise, or whatever it is that PD serves up for us

About 100km put into the rain at Fuji. Didn't set a full lap time until I was confident I could comfortably get into gold.

Did I enjoy this trial? No. Would I have put more effort into this if I had more time? No. Would I be opposed to someone demolishing Sector 3 of Fuji? No.

Coming even slightly off the optimal line in sector 3 in any 1 corner results in a minimum of 0.5 seconds lost, which will then be compounded in all subsequent corners so that by the time you've reached the main straight, you've lost a whole second.

Probably could find another couple of tenths here if I really hooked it up. But I don't have the patience to try and deal with this track in this conditions. I guess at least its something slightly different to normal.

I was consistently running better lap times tonight at Fuji and set my personal best. But I lost over a tenth in the right hander at the start of sector 3 on the lap being too timid. Every lap after I was faster through there, but I couldn't hook up the rest of the lap, usually the mess that is sector 3. :irked:

I was all excited about breaking into the 1:39s with Z4, but this thread is full of aliens! I love the Z4, but having an issue carrying speed up the hill out of T4. I also threw a time in at Fuji before the end. I’m happy with mid 39s at Sardegna with my pace level and on controller. Golds are rare these days!

Gave this Fuji combo a shot and first thought was I'd be happy just getting Bronze given the conditions. First lap, immediately a second better then Bronze and then managed a lap 2 seconds faster. Not sure if I have abit more as I felt like anymore pushing may not be all that productive so I'll just leave what I have for now. Not the nightmare I was expecting, that's for sure.

Even though I love F1 & most of the tracks they race at, Suzuka isn't one of my favorites. This is a very technical track + handling a fast beast like this will take umpteen amounts of patience & hours. I'm not a fan of the traditional circuits as well. Would've loved any layout of St. Croix, Blue Moon Bay, Dragon Trail etc. over this track.

I'll stick to Sardegna because that track has so much feel & flow to it. The Z4 even though at times twitchy, is a pleasure to drive there.
