First test in Suzuka :
Not gold but I have a lot of fun with wheel in this Formula. Time at 1'37'623

This is an impressive lap time! Congrats to this achievement! Honestly I cannot comprehend how that no.1 time happened. Usually I am maybe 2% slower than you so there is hope that my best lap might be enough for silver. Maybe...
Thank you! As for how the no. 1 time happened, well I don't know either.. But I did use his ghost so I saw it dissapear over the horizon at the end of my lap

First 10 laps stint at Sardegna with the Z4.

Comfortably inside silver zone, optimal is 0.8s from gold though.

Combo is nice but I have no idea how to take some corners (like last one). Not sure if I'll continue practicing or I'll do something else (like some CEs).

I found holding 3rd gear almost everywhere to help a lot. The Z4, especially on CS tires, is all about momentum and how quickly you can get back to throttle. As for the last corner, I have been a touch of brake and turning in early and getting as much of the left kerb as possible to straighten the chicane and carrying as much speed onto the front straight as possible. Keeping the car for stepping sideways is paramount as well. Hope the tips help!

I'm quite amazed, the SF at Suzuka is much more to handle for me in comparison to 3500A at Monza. Thank's @Tidgney guide and ghost I was fast in silver territory and got even a gold-time in first stint. But it's really close, so won't probably hold to the end. But optimal is 6 tenth faster and i threw a better lap away. So i can return when necessary an will probably. It's more fun than i thought it will be this morning.

I was nearly dumped from the top 100 so I put a few miles on quick this afternoon to cement my time. I made a nice improvement and if I cared to I probably could get really close to a 47 but I'm going to save myself the anguish. 😂

I'm never competitive with GR4 but man the rain is an equalizer!

Edit;

Also @Dan_Tes staring at the hello cat made me insane but also faster so I thank you, good sir for being fast enough to have a readily available ghost to chase. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🔥
You're welcome, absolute classic that it's driving a car with that ridiculous scheme that got me a record time :D
@Dan_Tes Many congratulations to your amazing Fuji run 👏. Watched your replay and was IMPRESSED!!!

May I ask what wheel you have?
Ahhh look mom I'm famous! Thanks man! As @NicoGmbh says I'm using a Logitech G Pro, highly recommended but what really has helped this last year or so is VR; It's hard to explain how it's possible to go so much quicker even in cars with limited visibility! It really helps in S3 at Fuji as you look at the apex in every corner so timing your turns/angle/getting on throttle all feels really natural unlike in 2D/bumper cam where it feels like every corner in that sector is just guesswork!
Well....new TT......"nope".... i'm not toutching that so no time on the board for me mates, have fun with it 😂 😂

Scooby TT, i couln't get myself to try again, ended out of the top 100 but totally fine with it,

Z4......., i guess i spent some more time on that one, i had to much possible PB laps invalidated at the very last apex of the lap that i got frustrated like crazy...., not my morning 😂

Breath.... live life...... don't stress..... 😂

Have a good day folks!

@330_D holy cr*p buddy, you realy nailed them both!!, you made some serious steps, well done!

@Dan_Tes EPIC mate, P8 in the world, serious haulling with them big boys, congrats buddy!
now go buy yourself a present 😉😂😂
Cheers bro, thanks for the updates too... You know what's coming present wise ;)

High downforce at Suzuka!? Eeeep that'll be my specialty but yeah nil points for creativity on this one...

Good lord this is hairy isn't it? Suzuka is interesting as I found it legit impossible on dpad, so having a wheel i feel the esses are much more do-able. However, i find this car harder than the F3500 to keep control of, it's extremely nervous and very sensitive to inputs. Managed a low 38 in 10 laps or so but suspect I need another 1.5 seconds, blimey, this is going to be tough.

Can't agree more about VR. It's not even the same game in certain spots. You are absolutely correct about seeing the apexes in sector 3 at Fuji!

Also it was some time coming for your top ten. Stellar work. You and @Metalgear9493 really killed this one. :gtpflag:

Seeing the combo for the new TT made my decision easy. It's a big ol' nope for me. And good timing really. I guess it's as good a time to mention this as any. I am having surgery on my spinal cord Wednesday. Can't wait. :indiff: But it needs to be done if I want to avoid eventually becoming paralyzed sooner than later in life and hopefully can get me walking better. My last surgery 12+ years ago left me relearning how to walk again. I'm praying I don't have to go through that again, but I guess we'll find out by this time next week.

We're flying up to Minnesota on Monday, and assuming everything goes well, coming back Sunday. In any case, I'll be off GT7 for a bit during the trip. I'll keep pushing the Z4 in the meantime. And I'll try to keep an eye on this thread when I'm lucid.

Sounds heavy! I'm not a praying man but I will most certainly be sending all the good vibes your way for a swift and hopefully pain free recovery. I wish you the best, sir!

Heal well,DD!

Appreciate all the well wishes, guys! I'm still around 'til Monday putting in laps before I leave.

Which leads me to tonight. I improved at Sardegna by half a tenth. I know I lost a little on the uphill left hander before the start of sector 2 and right hand turn just after. My main nemesis tonight was the long left in the final sector. Unless I turn in at the absolute perfect time, I simply can't make it through without lifting.

Something else maddening was that many of first sector times were .3 or .4's. Except one lap where I ran a .194. I have NO idea what I did differently to achieve that. Not that it mattered, because I promptly muffed the first turn of sector 2 and found myself in the gravel.

Finally into the 1:38s in the Sardegna TT.

Usually I play the TT or GT in general in evenings but just out of the blue played in the morning. I was able to again lap in the 1:39s lap after lap. Got even to just a tenth away from my PB like yesterday.

20250307_103830.jpg

Managed a new PB of 1:38:962 despite running 30+ laps. Since yesterday finding the 3rd sector trickiest to nail. Somehow got all close enough to assemble a new PB which was my (new) motive to enter into 1:38s.

Courage for your operation my friend and especially a lot of courage for the aftermath. Take good care of yourself

@Dolph Drago all the best to you!

Oh my goodness! That feels like a "fast forward" TT.
Going full throttle thru Degner 1 feels so wrong, it makes me want to close my eyes while turning in!
After 100 Km i got this
Gran Turismo™ 7_20250306180439.jpg

I think a sub 1:37 is possible for me. I'm loosing about a second in spoon alone! After my stint i watched the lap of the current leader. Turns out i'm breaking to much at the entry of spoon.

Plans for the weekend are set!
