It’s gold but it probably won’t last being day 1 and all.

Got to say this one was a struggle. I’d like to get sub 1:37 to feel safe but after a few hours trying I’m not sure where to find the time.

Seeing the combo for the new TT made my decision easy. It's a big ol' nope for me. And good timing really. I guess it's as good a time to mention this as any. I am having surgery on my spinal cord Wednesday. Can't wait. :indiff: But it needs to be done if I want to avoid eventually becoming paralyzed sooner than later in life and hopefully can get me walking better. My last surgery 12+ years ago left me relearning how to walk again. I'm praying I don't have to go through that again, but I guess we'll find out by this time next week.

We're flying up to Minnesota on Monday, and assuming everything goes well, coming back Sunday. In any case, I'll be off GT7 for a bit during the trip. I'll keep pushing the Z4 in the meantime. And I'll try to keep an eye on this thread when I'm lucid.
Best wishes and best of luck with the surgery, Dolph! Hoping all goes well and your recovery is as quick the lap times you set 🙏

Sorry to hear that and I wish you a good recovery

I will say that my daughter has spinal fusion a couple years back. The recovery certainly takes some time but it is amazing what those surgeons can do so close to the spinal cord.

You’re already a controller user right? At least you’ll be able to play while resting/recovering. We’ll be expecting you to give @Metalgear9493 a run for the money! 🤣

watch out, I'm coming 😅

Morning btw folk,

A bit later on the morning progression or no progression post but have busy things going on at work,
seems like everybody want building permits and drawings at the same time 😂

But..., due to the big no-go on Suzuka i went for the Z4 AGAIN...and man do i have some miles allready on this one, but it's so frustrating when you have a few invalidations in a session which would have been a great lap.... so deep down it's there....
So this morning a voice in my head by a wise man @330_D said " rentals are faster".... so i rented on and absolutely hammerd the thing around Sardegna...., tunrs out, ...... you were right 😂😂

Whoop Whoop..... Finally that top 100 and finally into the 37's.....

Not too Shabbbyy at all

( So i cheated on the picture cause i hate GT7 plates ) 😂😂

Have a great day!

See! I'm not kidding. I've never been faster in my own car in a time trial except one time - M3 Evo at RBR.

On rentals vs. owned cars - I remember when we had the Civic TT at one of the Lake Maggiore layouts that wheel size was a problem, as it was when we used the hot rod Civic at Tsukuba. Could it be that phenomenon coming in to play here that you’re feeling as the difference between rentals and owned cars @330_D & @Gomario JSP ?

I don't have any data to confirm or deny that rentals are faster except I always use one. I honestly do it just because I want to save my pretend mileage in game and I don't grind enough to be wealthy with the economy in GT7 so I only have singles of most of the cars I own.

I do know that wider wheels or lowering the suspension does mess with steering angle maximum as they will rub just like in real life if you go too hard with the width and offset.

I realy don't know, if I look at almost all my setted times on the board they are all garage cars and past, and this year haven't been to bad for me in terms of progression.
But it is kind of weird that after an hour of practice with my own Z4 I take out the rental and was more consistent, it just felt more grippy this time.... or it's just placebo,..I have absolutely no data/clips or something to back things up, I can only say that garagecars do quite well.... they bought me a bunch of top 100 finishes 🤣

The rims on the Civic were indeed a thing, and was very noticable because it just didn't steer, nothing compared to this maby subtle maby placebo thing 😁🤣🤣

Sorry for the 2 posts in a row but this will be the last one for today because this TT in Suzuka is really exhausting especially with the nerves !!! 🤣🤣

I hope this will be enough to keep the gold medal because unfortunately for us simple earthlings the big guns have not yet entered the game since they are busy with the 2025 World Series round in Suzuka with the SF23 Super Formula as luck would have it 🤣🤣

Yep, DS4. I didn't have a chance to try a wheel before my first surgery. And it would have become impossible to do so after the surgery.* So I've had to hone my skills using only my hands. :P And no way will I ever be on @Metalgear9493's level! 👽

*My brother has a wheel. I tried to use it on one of F1 games about a year after my surgery. Things did not go well.

GAAAAAH! not as bad as it looks I guess as I suspect we will need to go sub 37 to be safe. My worry is this lap felt good other than one or Teo spots, especially the esses which I nailed so basically will need a perfect t lap for gold.

Anyone else do this TT then switch to racing in say group 4 and omg...... just understeer off every damn corner lol.

Haven't been here in a while, lots going with life and work and haven't been feeling motivated to do any TTs. Looking at some of the previous posts, looks like the Z4 might be a fan favorite, I'll see if I can give it a go this weekend if I can squeeze in the time. That suzuka combo on the other hand.....

@Dolph Drago - All the best for your surgery and rapid recovery!

First day on the TT Suzuka and hope its enough. Did try the Daily A after and no thanks so many Verstappens on track my S rank got split in half did a slow second race to get it back up 😂
Also did a few laps with the Z4 and got 3t of my time a 1.38 is possible that last corner is just 😝
