I am tired boss. Those last mid 36s were produced out of sheer hatred for the controller understeer. I know I can do even better but I am not willing to put in the time on this to get the optimal sectors. Hard to keep my composure here probably not the only person in here.

At this point I know I must get a wheel for the future and of course pedals and most likely some online coaching to get out some bad habits I built up to improve even further.

P.s anyone in the market for 37s,36s go on grab it off my timesheet I have no love for it.

My excuse list: Original PS4 and Dualshock 4, getting jaded just driving into sector 3 and the last chicane and sprinkle some understeery anger into this because why not at this point.

To anyone else I wish you luck in getting the result you set yourselves for.

Edit: ABS weak, everything else off yes even the brain.

Today ran 95 laps of the Sardegna TT (took a break of 10 mins in between). Ironic thing about this is that I was able to only better my PB from 1:38:939 to 1:38:929, even though I lowered my Optimal Best to 1:38:518.

The reason I kept going on & on was because I was till the end able to nail the apexes & braking too but just couldn't stitch my best 3 sectors in 1 lap. I'm trying to enter inside top 1000 ranking...so will try again...

BTW, I tried the same Sardegna Track Blayout in Time Trial within the 'circuits' option. I kept the hp to 226 but ran on RM tyres to feel the difference. In a few laps, I could touch 1:32:9xx which just shows the grip difference between RM & CS.

Top10 is possible.
Alright...

...done. 🥳🤪😂

Already lost 0,1s in turn one and of course some more through the right hander after S1, which is probably my main problem why i'm not able to keep up with the top guys at S2. 🥲

Steady lap Dolph

Your first sector is quite good, and indeed you lost a little time om S2 compared to me 1:05.278 / 1:05.135. But fairly close, so that means work on the 3th sector! 😁😁
My S2 for this lap was a 1:05,012... so yeah you guys have some time left on sector 3. 🤭
But i really hit it perfect, even a bit faster than @Metalgear9493. 😏

If you switch gears while going over the sausage kerb it allows you to take the chicane smoothly without the steering derping out. I don't know how this works but it just does (video related)

Thanks for sharing, will try this. I've been shifting into 3rd between the left-right switch. It's also been frustrating to see all the time gained from the first three sectors and know that I'm gonna lose a chunk of it going into that finall chicane.

But really, I gotta work on the first sector. It's improving for me, but so far I'm only able to do low 26s for it while the WR does it at 25.5. That's a chunk of momentum I'm not carrying early on in the lap.

Hey folks!

So I'm not the best driver out there and I'm always having a hard time with those twitchy high downforce cars. Still I thought I give this a try.
So I did a lap and tbh it felt quite good! But then I saw my result🥺

View attachment 1434424

I don't get it! Sure, I guess I could squeeze out a few tenths in the hairpin and the chicane and maybe I didn't hit every apex perfectly. But still, I can't see how to improve enough to even get into bronze territory here. I was on full throttle almost all the time! It feels like I'm doing something fundamentally wrong but I just can't figure out what it is🤨

Maybe you guys can give me some tips? Here's the video of my lap:

You are doing Suzuka reversed and it's not, it's the normal version of the track! (also the video is reversed for some reason, wanted to confuse us??)

I can understand finding a tenth to lower my S2 plit to a 1:05.0xx but then I have to find another 3 tenth in sector 3 ?! 🤣🤣 were in gods name am I going to find that??

Congrats on that top 10!
Stupidly fast Germans these days 🤣🤣😇😇😇

@Dolph Drago , your last participation with the z4 reminds me how fast you are and I wish you all the best after your surgery 🤞🏼🍀🤞🏼🍀

It took me some time to find a little finesse after the habits taken with the wrx.

Thank you to @Metalgear9493 for showing us the path. I hope that the time will last until the last day and see my wish come true.

This also works on the inside kerb at turn 9 by the way. This combined with some throttle blipping through the esses helped me set a new personal best

@Dolph Drago keep pushing for your goals mate!!!

Finally some wheel time for me over the we

I think i have more in Sardegna, but two things I'm missing: 1) that uphill bumpy right hander i don't understand. i know I'm missing something, but can't figure out what 2) i don't know how many tons of laps i invalidated before even starting, or just before ending on the last chicane. I can tell you at least 6-7 different ways to screw it...

Suzuka I'm one and done after a 2 hour session. I like it more than expected, but i know i will stay away for few days, and it will take another 2 hours to get back to my rithm

1000021273.jpg

This is the last run before I leave. I kept up my trend of picking up roughly half a tenth of a second. I blitzed sector 1, my best ever. But I delayed getting on the gas on the first right turn of sector 2 and took it way too easy through that stupid final turn of the same sector. Finally, I got quite sideways in the final turn which surely cost me some time. I think a 38.0 would have been possible if I continued for a few more days and hit every sector. I did also have a 38.100 invalidated because I got a millimeter too wide on the exit of the final turn. :ouch: With still a few days left, I don't know if it will be enough to keep me in the top 150. A top 100 has continued to be elusive for me recently. I haven't had one since some time last year.

Trigger warning; this post may be powered by wine

After a few Rioja’s this evening I finally made a break through at Sardegna B… yup it’ll not go down as one of my favourites, the ‘knife edge’ unrealistic handling of this car made driving it fast an absolute chore. A few things to cheer about for me, a)my time isn’t good enough to be 27th or under, so @Vule doesn’t get £50 from me (sorry!) b)I’d imagine this will grate with @Gomario JSP as I did it while drinking cheap knock off Gran Riserva (cheers!!) and c)I’m now slightly ahead of @bliprunner (I don’t know how, ask wine!). Also, my time ends in .767 which is the greatest number of all time!

Off to Suzuka tomorrow before work, much more my style! Whoop whoop!

This is without a doubt the best chance I've ever had in claiming a Lap time challenge P1. I've observed the leaderboard progression over the last week.

Noted that DW_yuhki has undertaken at least 2 sessions with his results being over 2.5 tenths off. And we all know how talented that driver is at Nordschleife! Also Akagi too, both are extremely competent road car drivers. Obviously my main concern is L Shooter, but he tends not to do fantasy track time trials.

I highly doubt Damian Chafe, nor Adam can surpass my time, so that leaves Mr Macabe as the only challenger remaining. But does he have the willpower to even attempt to beat me? He's too busy getting WR's with the Gr.4 Huracan! Time will tell!

That was my weekend:
Friday: Worked on my speed thru Spoon and made a 1:36,9 - not bad, but with the Monza/F3500 TT still in my mind, i wouldn't bet this was safe gold.
Saturday: I spent more time next to the track than on it.
Sunday: Right after the breakfest i started the engine and without realy knowing how, i ended up with this:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20250309105703.jpg

I hope this will last, so i can concentrate on the new Manu Cup.

Well..... if it wasn't for the nice glass of Dalwhinnie 15y i consumed before seeing this, my laughing emoticon had certainly be a Poo.
And yes.... it hurts, drinking cheep knock off wine does even hurt more...
Now go fetch another boeing number at Suzuka, if they had released a boeing 666........ 😂😂 😘

Me myself a I had a little run again at Suzuka to, just to secure the gold and run like the wind on this one..

verdict after a morning session..

Remote-O-Meter............. 2/10
To fast for the input-delay, plus a single connection stutter results in Barry-R immidiately

Pad friendlyness.....................6/10
Descent and doable....., physics are better than before, but nailing the esse's is terrible but i asume this is the same for the wheel.
But the last chicane remains a real bugger, can't find one good thing about that 😂

I didn't like it at first and i still don't like it 😂
But found a little time again and glad this one is done for me, one hour of extra sleep in the morning 😁

Have fun with this one guys!

I'm just getting to old for these kind of combo's 🤣🤣
you are not the only one...🤣🤣
That's my excuse for being slow AF compared to all you fast peeps here. But, as a GT player since the PS1 days (90s baby, yeah!) I guess I should consider myself in my prime  My wife has told me to stop saying I'm getting old as she is older than me! I don't think she likes being reminded of the fact. :D

Somedays though, my brain doesn't feel that fast to keep up. I like slower cars on track these days..

Finally, I broke into the top 1000 ranking. I managed a wonderful best time of 1:38:687 in my first 10 laps. The biggest difference today was that I was driving in M/T instead of the usual A/T. I was amazed how good the car felt in the third sector which is the trickiest imo. Am over the Moon tbh.

I was again using @Tidgney 's pad ghost for reference. Thanks to him I kept trying & was persistent in trying to lap faster. H never goes to 2nd gear unlike the top ranked players & also uses 4th gear through the last chicane. Always look forward to his lap guides. That's him in the Red Z4 against my best ghost & current time.

Ye when I do the lap guides if there's no huge necessity to be in certain gears as in they would create more risk than potential reward for the majority I'll not take that risk to show that it isn't needed 😊 . Glad the ghost and lap guides are helpful!

Amazing time mate!! Your progression has been great, keep it up!

@Vule the pleasure will be all mine dude! It was a real chore honestly but one of my biggest wins with these time trials is that I persevere these days even when I don’t like them; my bronze medals came from the first few when I took one attempt and decided it wasn’t for me!

@Gomario JSP when the new arrival is sat in my garage I’ll be celebrating with a glass of our friend Mr Faustino!

@Metalgear9493 its yours for the taking and I think you can go faster, maybe another tenth. I’m almost certain it’s possible in the final corner, there’s a faster way around it I’m certain. Somebody said you were using ABS normal is that right? I found after a while ABS weak was perfectly fine and staying in 3rd gear for most corners gave stability without sacrificing any rotation; if you’re not experimenting with these two things at least consider them… I know it might not suit your driving style but honestly I’m trying to think of anything I can that might make the difference just in case you need those extra tenths/hundredths/thousandths to come top! Good luck mate was a pleasure chasing your ghost as always.

Improved my Suzuka TT best by just three hundredth, .741 down from .778. On the upside, while I used to be stuck doing mid 1:37s now I'm stuck doing high 1:36s to low 1:37s. 😬

When I used to regularly do trackdays IRL, I was usually more excited to see my average lap improve compared to setting a PB. For these TTs, not so much...😆

Sardegna and this "awful to drive" Z4 :banghead:
How frustrating when you know where the tenths to shave are but you cant put a lap together.

I dont remember to have a such a big gap between my record and my optimal before.

I think Im on safe gold right know but that optimal will torture me until reaching it...

View attachment 1435033
The key to a good or improving lap is nailing the braking & releasing the brakes before making the entry. This applies to every turn in this TT because of the CS tyres. If You feel You're stuck then try following a ghost or even try playing with the assists.
