Stuck a Mines livery on it and went faster.

I love this sort of TT!

@linksracer Glad my ghost helped you outšŸ¤.

Looks like L Shooter isn't performing his final hour shenanigans so I think I've just conquered a Lap time challenge event for the first time! :gtpflag:

Special thanks to Thrustmaster TGT for allowing 720 degree modešŸ¤£.
Let's gooooošŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ‘½šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

Good enough TT. I like Eiger & feel the overall route is a tad too short for the lovely scenery all around. Loved the long version of it.

BTW, I'll anytime prefer a road car over a F1 car (lookalike like the one in Suzuka) even though F1 is my passion.

Waiting for our beloved @Tidgney's lap guide already.
I actually made this video live really early this morning as I had to nip to the hospital! Here's the guide for those interested;

I had an initial target of getting to SILVER. It is my second TT (first was Monza). I think this lap could be good enough for Silver.

However, there are 6 days still and I am very far away from what I should be doing. I will set a new goal to be 1 sec off Gold, so around 1.38.1 which means I need to find 0.7 sec.

PROGRESS:
1. [GOOD] I do understand Sector 1
2. [BETTER] I have improved my huge weak point - Sector 2 (this allowed me to get to 1.38.7) - but I think I shall find at minimum another 0.3 sec here. But it is a matter of practice and it can be done
3. [WEAK] Sector 3 - still not comfortable here. While approaching Spoon, shall I just slightly break at 50 mark, turn and coast without accelerating, touch the kerb, turn and then accelerate? What is optimal?
4. [WEAKEST] Sector 4. I continue to struggle. I break around 100 mark, turn and then it is hard to carry the speed through the triangle and then accelerate toward the finish straight

I just no longer know what and how to improve sector 4

The results for TT131 at Sardegna - Road Track - B in the BMW Z4 3.0i '03 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards.

Here are some interim statistics for TT132 at Suzuka Circuit in the SF23 Super Formula: Toyota '23 / Honda '23.

Ended this TT by finishing in 635th ranking which is my best ranking in recent history.

I super struggle in this game with formula cars (and GR3 isn't really my jam either) but I have had some extra time lately to devote to my hobby (habit!) and I've managed to far exceed my normal here...

A few suggestions and I don't play on a controller and do realize how freaking difficult these cars are with one so I do understand no matter what it's pretty hard to execute. But:

Use more of the track. You can carry more speed through a larger arc and with high down force cars that is really the ticket. Less input is more. Turning ratios in really fast cars are short and it's very easy to push right into understeer without even realizing as it's a very knife edge understanding the grip you have. That's just a general for the whole lap...

The hairpin is brutal. But- it's doable. I brake shortly after you can see the apex as you make the right going in. I shift down quickly to second and then let second hang for just a tiny bit and right before turn in I shift to first for rotation. Immediately I shift to third and give a quarter throttle as you straighten the car to exit you can gently roll the throttle to full. This is one place I'm consistently quick in this car (weird, I know) and being super gentle there with the throttle but very precise works. It's amazing how fast you can actually get through it when you nail it. I found a full half second there once I understood it.

Everywhere else I can't help much as I generally suck at Suzuka. Cheers man. You are doing the work. I'm sure others will add their advice as well.

Do you watch any lap guides? A resident alien here @Tidgney makes the best ones on the Internet for us plebs. I highly recommend watching them and really paying attention to his brake points and gear usage. He's a genius!

Edit: I'm sorry I assumed you had jumped to manual. I don't know with auto how to be fast in this car. So much to do with gear selection is what makes this lap. So - make the jump. Pay now or pay later. The sooner you do it the sooner you'll unlock the magic.

As for the final chicane, I think you need to turn in later and take a later apex on the right hander. This sets you up better for the left hander. You can also take more kerb on the left hander. Also, I know you're on AT but it's crucial to switch from 2nd gear to 3rd when going over the kerb on the left hander, as this stabilizes the car

@Lightpilgrim, I know it's been said already and you've addressed it and I respect your reasoning, but not driving in MT is hampering you. Not having control of your gear selection disadvantages you in the corners where it's imperative for you to make use of the transmission.

It doesn't have to be now or with the SF/Suzuka TT, maybe even practice outside of a TT, but you will benefit greatly getting used with MT.šŸ‘

Hi guys

Comfort Soft tyres AGAIN?

RIP Dan

Quick go at Suzuka today, I really needed to get a banker but just couldnā€™t stay consistent. Thereā€™s a really small sweet spot for feedback on this car (max torque 9 is what I ended up using), below which itā€™s almost impossible to put the correct steering input in and above itā€™s too heavy. I find this combo very very sensitive to incorrect steering inputs that loses you a huge amount of time in S1. I havenā€™t nailed it all but the groundwork is there for a top 100 time now!

Slight mistake on the exit to the chicane cost me a tenth and I the opportunity to match @A_Higher_Place but we are pointing in the right direction!
