In the Formula cars you find 5 heavy? Are using a DD wheel? On my DD Pro the SF cars are light as a feather below 7/8
I use a G PRO, so the Logitech DD.

My wheelbase is set to maximum force, 11 Nw.

Then, I modulate the force with the in-game settings:

- around 8 for road vehicles with comfort tyres,

- up to 5 for racing cars with slicks tires (I feel the Trueforce's vibrations even in the base of my Simlab).

For single-seaters, I change the steering wheel for a Momo 290mm, and it shakes already much in the S curves.

Here, I suffer from understeer (+ Spoon exit).

This combo is ruining my average delta.

Out of curiosity, I would test this setting at 9.

There definitely isn't a lot of time for my skill level to find now.

My optimum is 1:15.503 so I am already down in to finding thousands now which isn't going to happen.

Just hope it holds for gold now 😝

@Metalgear9493 Congrats on your first GT7 lap time challenge world record, well deserved after so many top placements. 😁🍻

So now on to the new TT... was thinking about skipping this one because i hate Eiger Nordwand. It's the same like Tsukuba, 3 hairpins to much. 🤮😂

But damn i can't skip a TT with comfort tires. 🙈

Was one of the woerst runs through the long right hander i had today, but the rest felt really good. Would be nice to get a 1:14 until the end.
But for me the comp is defenetly more pain than fun.

Something about comfort tires make you feel all sorts of....comfy? 😁

I remember the last time we got this exact track layout in a TT was a few months back with a Subaru Rally Car with RH tyres. Wish some good tracks like Sainte-Croix, Dragon Trail, Kyoto etc. could be used more as they have different layouts as well.

Some tracks I feel are prone to be featured more in TTs & with Comfort or Sports tyres.

The current TT is a let down because it's just a little more than a minute & this track doesn't allow much leverage to take different racing lines which the above said tracks provide & make it more fun & engaging.

I think it really is more about personal preference.

For me I prefer the short/mid length lap times and TTs as it's easier to concentrate and stay consistent so I get a better view of where I can achieve.

The same can be said for the more precise laps/tracks as it really hones in for me personally being consistent at hitting my marks and accelerating smoothly and at the right time etc. where there are differing lines on some tracks I find I'm less consistent and fluke times rather than earn them sometimes.

All horses for courses and everyone's mileage will vary on these things.

I have a fondness for this track, it was new to me when i returned to the game over Xmas and the circuit experience time trial with the Alfa 4C was the first time it felt I "got" how to drive with a wheel so I look forward to this one.

I have made some more progress and, more importantly, started to put the lap together in my head. I am beginning to understand it. It doesn’t mean I am able to execute it all, but that will come with practice.

Overall, I am now better understanding Degner and Hairpin. Also better understand Spoon and , @imChris - thanks for the clear suggestions for the Triangle - I just need to find a clear marker for breaking so that I will be more consistent.

Thanks for all suggestions, folks and big thanks to @330_D, @sinncere27, @Gomario_JSP and @happycorey! You do nit have to, but you guys help in a practical way.

My target was to try and be in Silver. I wanted to be in the 1.38.8 zone as ai think it will be safe, but I was hoping to ge to 1.38.5 as this would be a fair progress. 1.38.3 makes me happy, but will 5 days remaining I will see how mich of the 1.2 sec I can recover.

Much nicer lap. Keep pushing out to those edges and be a little more aggressive. You'll be surprised at how much it can stick at speed. You keep progressing like this and you'll have gold before it's over for sure. 🔥

I do not want to out too much expectations on myself. What matters to me is to progress! If I keep learning and getting faster, sooner or late I will get to top 3%. Do not want to burn myself…so will take it step by step. I want to enjoy it:-)

You just do you mate as I said on the other thread you are coming on leaps and bounds, listening, learning and applying that!

Personally I don't do anything other than a few laps in the SF cars as I don't enjoy them but love the VR experience of them.

What will help you immensely is the new TT because with an AT you can manipulate the downshifts, but it's also a really good one to learn MT as there is only really 2 shifts 3rd to 4th most of the lap (the hairpins it is better to drop to second but you don't have to)

It's a controllable car at a more realistic pace with close to what you'd have experienced in the real world handling wise. The SF stuff is fairly specialist to really get everything from them. Work up to it not start there and work down.

Edit:

@NevilleNobody i think the better measure is how many laps can you be consistent and not bin it, that shows you are learning the lines and can control the car. You can always just kamikaze but what do you learn from that?

I usually do 5-10 lap sessions just pounding consistent times in with every couple of laps trying things like braking a little later, coasting a fraction more turning in a little later etc.

Binning it isn't a sign of getting it, just brute forcing it.

A bit late with this one, but here is my Z4 lap at Sardegna. The gold came pretty quickly, I tend to do better in road cars generally. I guess the lower the downforce/grip, the lesser the already huge skillgap from the aliens to us mere peasants :D
