Hi friends
Hoping you had a good week, I'm discovering this new TT. When I saw Racing Kart, I said to myself "Oh no, why did they put that there?" But hey, it's still fun at this Brands Hatch.
First test and get gold in 0'50'069

Haven’t tried auto gears or adjusting the steering angle yet
My new best time was set with manual gears and steering at 580°. After trying multiple steering angles, 580 felt the best between being too twitchy and being slow enough for smoothness but being fast enough to catch slides. As to the gearbox, manual is faster but it took lots of try over auto (in VR) as in VR you have you look too much at the steering wheel to figure optimal gear shift and that can compromise your lines.
Is there a way to disable delta's display, without removing all hud entirely ?
Not an issue in VR. Guess that is one advantage to VRs lack of split information.

In flatscreen the answer is no. In the past, I literally put tape on my screen to hide it 🤣

I'm getting such mixed messages from everyone's attempts so far, I don't know what to expect. 😄

I'll probably try my initial run later today if not by tomorrow. I've been enjoying my foray into this week's Daily Race A with the Lancer, especially with a handful of regulars in it that I've encountered that have been providing very good and exciting races between us.

Alright, I think I had a pretty successful Friday evening session.

After breaking into 49.3 territory yesterday at Brands Hatch I was able to cut away another tenth, now sitting at ... 🥁

Comfortably in the top 100 for the moment, but it's only the second day so this definitely won't hold. I think I can go faster still, which is a weird thing to say considering I am only two tenths away from a top 10 position. This one's just crazy tight :)

Running CSA strong as I usually do, however for this one you guys who don't usually use it might want to try it, too. Out of the five fastest available replays, four have CSA on. Haven't seen that before, but it makes sense seeing how incredibly nervous the steering can be. I also set the angle to 540 degrees on the wheel to soften some of that nervousness. It's quite enjoyable now with that setup!

And then I decided I needed to do something at the Nordwand because my lap was slowly but steadily being pushed out of the top 100. I dreaded going back a bit because my previous PB of 1:14.872 was a hard piece of work, but I actually got on pace again pretty quickly. New PB is not even four hundredths faster ...

But that was good enough for 25 positions in the global ranking 🥳, and my friends board also looks much nicer now. So at the risk of poking the bear ... your move @330_D @bliprunner @Gomario JSP 🤣

Have a great weekend everyone!

Another session at bh yesterday. No improvement overall, but i understood how to better turn2. I also forgot how to do the last turn
:( where i constantly miss the apex, slow down too much, and occasionally spin when go back on throttle.

The wheel is so sensitive... can i do the max degrees trick on g29?

Quick go this evening in the kart. Useful improvement found after doing a little more braking than I was previously, as I think I was over driving before and just scrubbing off too much speed on entry. This won’t stay in the top 100 (probably even by the time I finish typing this post), but it’s a decent lap. Shared it for those that are interested

Apparently it is possible. This was on my to do list when I still used my G29, but I switched to Fanatec and didn't end up trying this.

I do not know how to link specific posts, but here is the link for the entire thread. The important bits you want to read on how it's done is from post #34 to #46. You need a windows pc for this method.

If you or any other G29 user tries this method, please report back. I am curious to know if it really works.

Tried the kart on TT-thursday with pad and yesterday with wheel. Followed @Tidgney ghost, thanks for your guide btw.

I don't have a lot of "seat-time", that's why i'm better on controller witch slippy cars. But i try to do "slippy" time-trials on wheel as well, when i do have time for, to get better on wheel (wheel is quite more fun).

So kart on pad was a fast gold - 50.045. I'm stil suprised how much i got faster during the last year. I'm able to gold most of TT. Thanks a lot again :gtpflag:! Optimum was in 49, so obviously i had to give the kart another go...

This go was on wheel, but I didn't expected an improvement. Wheel, as expected, was much more difficult for me. I spin out a lot. Something like 3 of 14 laps have been valid :banghead: . I let/set sensitivity of my DD Pro on auto. Probably changing to 720 or 600 will make it easier. I tried TC off / 1 / 2. TC1 fitted me most. Best lap: 49.986. I'm really happy with this result and will move on to next TT.... well... I have to wait until thursday ;)

Good lappping everyone!

Btw: Somebody told a few weeks ago (nations-cup) that ABS off helps a lot with karts. I have ABS always on weak and hadn't changed it as well yet. So maybe this can help a few fellows here.
