Day 2 in the british Love Boat. To shorten my suffering i've activated the ASM. Still took about 60 Km, but now i hope this is good enough to last and i don't have to come back

Already hoping for a proper race car next week!

Unpopular opinion - I prefer the look of this 2018 Vantage compare to the 2024 facelift. So glad this got added to GT7! Also love the fact that I can essentially make it into the Vantage GT3 with the available aero as well. Probably the closest thing we will get from an actual Gr.3 car…

Slidey RWD car is really my thing so my lap wasn’t too shabby. There is definitely 1-2/10th left on the table consider how bad I messed up the bus stop!

The beastly Aston is a tough one, did 5 laps and down to a 55.5 so likely need 2 seconds t get gold, will be tough but she's fun to drive. SS tyres make a huge difference on road cars, too many time trials are on rubbish rubber.

Reading past posts I don't think the handling is unreasonable. Thi sis a large, extremely powerful GT car on road rubber, it's gonna feel heavy and sloppy to some degree. It's not meant to be a sportscar.

I did the "test it before you buy it" method for the Vantage and its a bit of a tricky car, it has its own mind to understeer and oversteer in all corners especially at the bus top chicane it can really be a handful. Need more time to perfect this TT but will be fun!

I’m warming up to this TT.

I’m beginning to notice a trend in that the cars I first exclaim as “oh my God! This is a monstrosity. How on earth do you drive this!” Actually turn out to be some of the more rewarding TTs.

I think it’s the reward in learning how to tame the car and learning how to extract the best out of it. That makes it addictive and one that I actually want to come back to, even though my first post on the subject said “I don’t think I want to do much of this”. :)

Second session and I took over .4 of a second off my time. Up into the sub 2% range and closing on a sub 1.53. I know there’s more time in me still.

What makes this one interesting is that you never know where the quick time is going to come from.

Some of my top times have come from perfect trail braking. Others have come from losing it on the corner and sliding wildly around it but somehow still being fast. Other times the car takes over and just decides to ping you into a barrier. There’s still skill to try to tame it, but I think there’s a lot of random chance and pure luck as well.

Had 75 miles in the Aston last night and just couldn’t get my head around it. Holding a gear higher seems to make sense tonight though and adds some stability and confidence - which means 5th for the bus stop and the last two corners. No prediction on how much faster I can go or have the patience to try and go, but it certainly won’t be into the 51’s!

Nice lap!

Very interesting combo!,
Had a little run myself but couldn't get to you
Optimals were epic but there are just tomany tiny code brown moments to nail them all together 🤣

Hey guys. Got a a very serious question:-)

I hit my limit at BH TT on a Kart. I am unable to improve my lap time anymore and I need to make a bigger adjustment.

Can you please help validate?
I am a controller player and my settings used for my fastest lap were:
1. count assist steering: strong
2. MT
3. ABS standard
4. TC: 2

I see that the fastest players in the world drift into a corner. So I think to progress, I need to adjust settings to:
1. CAS: weak (to help with the drift)
2. TC: 0

I tried it and yes, I am able to get GOLD still, but not close to by fastest lap time and I am atruggling.

What is the best setting for a controller? I will try to get on top of it, just need to know that I have the right/fastest settings for the kart and this track.

Thank you very much

I'm on a controller and my settings are:
CSA- weak
MT
ABS standard
TC 0

I did try TC1 but while it benefitted the final corner exit it also slowed too much at T2 (after the big dip) I have found the key factor is how quick you get on the power at T2, 3 and the final corner but do so in a slightly gradual way otherwise it turns too much. Also, the turn-in for the final corner is crucial but deceptive, it's tempting to go out wide, brake and turn in late (or at least it was for me) but instead shorten the corner so you are near the kerb at the apex and use the width of the track to exit out. I watched the guy top of the leaderboard as a guide for the final corner in particular, he gets back on the power very early.

I went a bit faster again earlier, going from being in the top 2000 to the top 800 😎

That is a very good lap, thank you for sharing. It means I need to practice more with TC0

What is your steering sensitivity? I have mine on 10, since I felt it works the best on the latest two patches.

To be honest, I don't think TC on 0 or 1 is a big factor so I'd go with what is more comfortable., the more important aspect is how quickly you are back on the throttle on each corner exit, it may feel like the kart will spin but if you are gentle but assertive it will hold reasonably well if you are applying some power in the turn, I only briefly brake at T2 and the final corner and on T3 I lift and apply 40-50% throttle throughout the corner and as soon as you are straightening up, boot it.

Also, my steering sensitivity is set to 6 in the kart, I found it too twitchy at max settings.

I watched a lap guide proposing ABS off. I tried but it didn't work for me. Lost the rear too often. Anyways I guess ABS weak might help you.

Other than that I simplified this by going AT because there's really nothing here where choosing gears or shift points makes any meaningful difference. Felt weird but it made it easier to focus on turn in and lift off points.

CSA strong definitely helped mr improve a lot too but you already use it.

If nothing helps then maybe studying track guides on YouTube or watching top replays to find stuff you are able to replicate might be the way to go.

I didn't play with controller sensitivity and used my regular 10. Maybe lowering it might help here? Not sure.

Good luck

I did an Ok lap, good enough for Gold, but I am not going by to AT, prefer to have control over the kart. CSA strong, in my view, will not allow you to drift as much as you need on this track. I might be wrong

How goes it, my friends! Hope your time trialing is going well! :)

I noticed I hadn't posted in over a week. A quick update for anyone interested. My anticipated discharge date from the hospital is April 15th, so I've still got some time I'll be stuck here. The therapists and doctors all say they see improvement each day even though I don't really notice it myself. Then it will be back to my folks' home and continuing outpatient physical therapy until I'm on my feet well enough to go back to my own house. Also it will be nice to hop on GT7 once again. I'm going to be rusty, I'm sure! :D
