Switched to wheel, helped a lot. Think I like the off-road physics in this game more than tarmac on this current physics iteration, which I never thought I'd say.

Couple more tenths in the tank. Would love to know where the WR has hidden that extra 4 tenths away.

Amazing, and I know you are fairly quick/handy but that is get away levels of driving Sir!

Awesome work!!

About to head for a few days of R&R with the family. I’ll hit this TT hard in the next day or so, and then again when I’m back. Just a big thanks to everyone here for all the advice, suggestions, and tips over the last couple months. Awesome to see people pushing, improving, having fun, struggling at times but picking each other back up 👍👍I feel like I need to do this TT justice after driving a Corolla for a significant portion of my life 😂

Tried my luck again with the GR Corolla, managed to go from 1:05.681 to 1:04.850. I can feel that I have at least 2-5 tenths in me, will come back to it later in the next 2 weeks. I know it’s nothing to write home about but can’t say enough how much I enjoy this TT. I played a bit of ACC before it, enjoyed lapping Watkins Glen with the Cayman (and being off 7 seconds from the real life race laps :D) but sliding on the snow was a good closure for tonight’s session :)

Here's the latest time trial guide for those interested! Didn't do one last week as.. well... you turned left and 100% throttle haha! We are near with that this week but a little bit more lifting! I enjoyed it!

Followed you around for an hour and ran a 1:02.079. I feel like I know your more intimately than any married man should, but that $2m will feel good if it sticks! Thanks!!!

Morning guys,

Well...... we tried to slide..... and great coh*nes have been made in T1... , such an epic blind sideways entry blast.
But..... dreams have been crushed by the white bankybooyy ..
Optimals were there ( far worse than @330_D though with .645 😂 😂 ) but altough it's just a few corners it's very difficult to stick.

But i just don't have a clue how the WR has got 1.3 seconds 😂😂,

As usual I'm useless on snow...

With the way Tidgney approaching this being so different from the top replay I could find last night (#3 at the time), would @Gomario JSP or @Nebuc72 mind sharing replays on here? I know it's effort, so no worries if you don't want to.

#3 was full throttle everywhere bar the first corner, whereas Tidgney lifted often and played the throttle a lot. I tried a bit of each approach, but I'm not consistent enough to figure out which is better for me.

EDIT: And it was so obvious I missed you off, but @Barareklam I'd be very happy to see your replay too if possible.

give me an hour and I think I can do it over lunch break, remote connect, and save replay and upload. While I am doing that. do you want to share your video and hear my comments?
lift, correctly, no lift except first corner, full send whole lap.

Ofcourse, no problem, but i think @Barareklam will beat me if he does it in his lunchbreak 😂
Ik have no controller for hand right now so first possibility is when home from work but i'll do it anyway, maby we have a different approach..

I found use time taking the same line as Metal, on the outside and rev all the way out in third to about 120km/h
less need for throttle control that way.

No efford ofcourse, just no possibility right now 😂😂

Damn he's fast..... 😂 😂

Sorry mate, I haven't saved it. If I manage to beat it I'll post the lap here though.

Throttle wise though I lift going through the last corner and depending on the line I'll lift at either 3 or 4 if I think it was needed.
Snows a bit of a weird one though where I feel like you can take the same line and get a different outcome so even though I'm lifting I'm still sticking to the ghost that went flat.

I will do over the weekend, thank you.
@half_sourly here you go, if you want me to make video comparison I will gladly do it for you
Thanks for the video. No need for the comparison, thanks; I'll have a go first at just learning from yours and getting your feedback once I post it.
Ofcourse, no problem,
Thank you.

No worries. And if you beat your current time, there's every chance I could just watch your replay in game as it will be top 10!

I know you didn't ask me, but still maybe I can help. A little return since you're the statistics guy that helps out alot (:

That is excellent lap and great example how to do it.

@half_sourly "secret" of getting fast lap on the snow here is to have nice smooth line, remember from Michelin challenge, "do not rotate car too much", so in this video, if you watch it with half speed from sec 40 in the video and put your focus on red ball that is steering input indicator, the one above revs on display, just watch it, left-right left right left right smoothly and constantly moving to keep car steady and on correct line through corner, car is pointing correctly whole time, tires are just constatly trying to grab ice/snow to keep it on fastest line.

I believe that is the answer for fast lap time on snow.

I've hit the slopes in the Corolla, and sadly, I'm not a fan. To me, it feels like either the car is too heavy, or the snow physics feel off. I know this is a 'me' problem, as most seem to like it, but as a former scholar of Colin McRae rally, WRC and the Dirt games, rallying in GT just feels, well, naff.

Nevertheless, I seek out gold as always and a few laps today saw me into silver, I can keep relatively close to Tidgney for most of it but am losing out with my gearing & timing I think, more studying to be done over the weekend.

Have a good one all

One of the keys to keeping up with him I’ve found is making sure that you get the esses just right. It feels fast until you realize when you’ve actually gotten it. You’ve really got to let the car find the grip on the inside when you rotate to the left and then fly through the right left at the end. I guess that’s obvious, but I was losing more than half a second to him there until I realized I just wasn’t focusing on that as much as I should have.

I think Lake Louise is one where I'll let the fast guys stabilize the WR target first before putting any effort in. I suck at these ones so not hopeful here...

So if I see it correctly, the fastest lines for the first and last corners don't need you to whip the rear too much (getting the car too crossed up), while the lines through the esses need you to whip the rear ASAP so the car's pointing at your exit line before you even apex?
