Good evening fellas! After an exhausting 10 day work trip it was great to get back into the (racing) cockpit today to try and keep that top 100 streak going.

It’s safe to say it wasn’t my favourite but thanks to some wheel setting wizardry I was able to crack the top 100… glad it’s done and I don’t have to go back, why do I feel like I need a cigarette now I’m done!??

As for the new trial; it’s not for me, so here the streak ends! What a great start to 2025 it was; in just over 24 hours I’m off to the Nurburgring in ‘Allan the Aston’ so I will catch up with yall next week and hopefully a new and more dynamic time trial to get stuck in to! Happy lapping, toodles!

hmmm, I'm not sure I'd survive anything more dynamic than the LL TT :lol:

Welcome back from your work trip mate, hope everything went well. And amazing superior time. Very impressed to see you within the top 20 best drivers for this challenge. Pure fire, 🔥

I'd maybe keep it at that, at least you'll definitely know you will earn a gold medal here, xD.
 
Some nice progress tonight! First managed to drop another 25/100s at Daytona to move up several thousand places on the leaderboard :lol:

And then took more than 2 tenths off in the snow to get the silver locked down. I'm done now! And man what a chore this one was...but also SUPER fun when you really start to get a handle on riding the grip and momentum around. But it just breaks my brain to think this is more than 2.5 seconds off the top time! Just seems utterly impossible.

I don't know where I pulled this from. I thought I'd have to suffer for another 3 hours to get anywhere near the gold time but no. I did it within an hour a half yesterday. Talk about a breakthrough. Great success!

Let's call it a... Promising... Session...
I am kinda good at first sector, isn't it so @Metalgear9493 but I still can't take deep line at last turn, always brush the snow barrier somehow.

That are promising sectors buddy, i haven't seen a .2xx on my S1 yet, if i have a good run it's around the 350... and my PB lap was a .423 :grumpy: 😂 😂...

I ran some laps this morning and got somuch better at the esses....but got sooo much worse on S1 i fairly quickly called it a day, this one is frustrating, i know i can a sub 1.01 but i don't know how much it's going to take, so i think i'll stick to my one week efford and hop on to the next, so..... you have a full week to kick me down, and with those sectors, that should not be a reral problem mate!

Not sure it’ll help most as it’s G Pro specific buttttt;

In game settings:

FF Max Torque 10
FF Sensitivity 1
CSA Strong

Wheel settings that I changed:

TF AUDIO 1
FFB FILTER 1

Still get some lumps and bumps through the steering wheel but definitely less unsettling than with settings normal

I need one more tenth. I need my optimal.

What kill’s me is the last long turn. I just can’t get that right. I either bog down, too low, or brush my tail and get invalidated. The only time I get it perfect, is after I mess up else where.

For me this TT is a healthy dose of luck and a lessor quantity of skill.
 
And I'm done with Lake Louise. Finally got some luck - best first sector yet followed by a decent enough second sector.

I don't know. As soon as i discover something new on that track, my average try gets nearer to my optimal and so on. That for me is not luck. But yeah, i hate the last turn as much as anybody. ;)

Due to work I don't have much time for GT7, so each session has to be as productive as possible. The last laps I started to give "stable" 1.01.8x, but if I didn't touch the wall in the first corner by a millimeter, I will in the last turn 🙃. In the end, this is my best time so far. I don't know if it will be enough for gold in a week.
Have I improved? Yes. Was it painful? Very. Will I continue to torture myself? If I have time, then yes, because at the end of the day, it's a good time trial.

Thanks, but unfortunately the crown is a pipe dream. I won't even get top of the GTP board, because hollo is already well ahead, and by tonight's session you'll probably be ahead of me, and after his double espresso-fueled 6am session tomorrow and a "not too shaaabbbbyyy" lap, so will @Gomario JSP.
 
Being new here, are there any "famous" TTs that are big favorites of the community? I don't mean your personal favorites, but are there any which the majority of the community remembers fondly?

The Nordschleife in the NSX (with tuning allowed!)... if you got gold then you might remember it fondly!

The Olympic TT in the Toyota Hypercar with 1.5% gold threshold (rather than the normal 3%)... that might not be as popular.

But those are the two standouts for me.

I want to add the Aston Martin Valkyrie at Bathurst. It was that bad that I couldn't finish one single lap.

We had the Valkyrie at Red Bull Ring and the Maserati MC20 at Bathurst. Do you mean one of those?
Indeed. The Valkyrie at RBR was one of my favorites and earned me my 👽 status. :cheers:

EDIT: scrub that. I was thinking of the Porsche Mission-X. The Valkyrie I hated and gave up on...

I will concur that the Maserati is possibly one of the worse cars ever created.

I churned out another 50 laps after breakfast this morning, and one invalidated lap after skimming the border at my apex was a 1:01.2, and that perked me up. Over the weekend I saw an Optimal of 1:01.1, but I had shrugged it off cause it was too far from my average pace. But with all the laps I've been turning on the snow, I guess practice really makes perfect. 😆
