Morning all - Decided to give Willow Springs one last go in the little Alfa. Pretty much reached my limit I think and picked up nearly a quarter of a second from yesterday. Not sure I will find the time, or can summon the patience to hunt down the remaining hundredths so I think I'm done here. Good luck to all -

Watch your back, you're not out of the woods yet (pardon the Deep Forest pun) :D

That part is really impressive though! So far I've only had a single (valid) .9, most laps are in the mid 48.1 to 48.3 for me. But who knows, maybe lightning strikes again ...
I knew I wasn't out of the woods yet 🤣, just a matter of time you are going to kick me down here I'm afraid, but....ill do my best to make it as hard as possible for you 🤣🤣

Completed my daily marathon at Deep Forest ✌️ : I love driving around here, I'm just a bit slow :embarrassed:
45 km and an improvement from 1:53.555 to 1:49.977
It's a provisional gold 👍, a little too close to the threshold for my taste.
The 48's is a reasonable goal, I'll eventually get there in the 10 remaining days of this TT 🐌.

Left you some homework 🤣

First two sectors were good, not great, clocking in at 1:16.013 at the S2 split. But then I somehow struck gold with a 31.820 S3. Now I only need to figure out how I did it 🤣

Well that didn't take you very long didn't it..??!! 🤬🤔🤣🤣🤣

Very aggressive on the S3 btw, squeeking the crap out of those sport hards 🤣
Did worked out though ☹️🤣🤣

Well done mate, I have work to do 🤣🫡🫡🙏🙏

Well @crome i did try this morning but i failed big time 😂 😂
did run a .873 AGAIN.... and had a whopping .223 on S1 but had to lift last corner and threw it all away.... but managed to PB that lap.. .871 😂😂😂

to be continued.... your not out of the woods yet buddy, annoyingly i have a 40hr + workweek... 😂

OOh, and what a joy they gave the permanent waving dude at the bridge on the mainstraight the day off,

But here is the weird part....., in my previous sessions everytime i drove under the bridge i saw the static waving dude, and each time i though... come on PD...., we have multiple moving caraters and yet on such a spot you place a static one....., but this morning he was gone

Then i thought i would pick my first session replay to point out the dude..... guess what...., no waving dude.....

Am i ging nuts??...., trust me he was there?, and i just checked a uploaded video ( in this case MCA ) and he has the due?!

so.... who got the dude... and who does not?? anymore? 😂 😂 😂

*edit... just check my 3 replays and the caracters are ineed on a different place everytime, i think just coincidence that i noticed him everytime, but he clearly is gone sometimes 😂 😂

I don't really comment here as my typical results (bronze) aren't exactly enticing :) I do have one gold now (by hugging the yellow line at Daytona) and have a grand total of 4 silver medals. It seems though that that number will be 50% more in about 9-10 days! After getting a decent bronze time at Willow Springs I saw the opportunity for a silver, so took my chances with the Cayman, and got a 1:20.274 - I'm pretty sure there's a a tenth or two there to find but I hope that this will be enough to the end.

Now, the DeLorean TT. First, despite having bought my first GT game (GT5) on Black Friday 2010 alongside a PS3 I'm not particularly familiar with the Gran Turismo's original courses, so that's always an additional hurdle for me. Nevertheless, I tried a few rounds with the controller (almost 100% using my G29) because I was curious and managed to get a 1:54 something, so at least the bronze was secure. Then today I thought, let's try with the wheel! As it turns out, since I pay more attention to the TTs, I did get better and managed a 1:53.420, was quite satisfied with myself - until I saw that it was rather close to the silver cut-off at 5.77%.

At this point I did this all by myself, no external help but I know I had to call in the big guns, so loaded up my trusty source, @Tidgney's guide. Having completed quite a few laps already it was much easier to follow his directions (I think this is another thing I have to apply in the future) and after several frustrating invalidations and some better and better laps I ended up here:

Again, I do hope that it will be enough for the remainder of the TT, even if my leaderboard placement will be significantly lower but if all hell breaks lose, my ideal time so far was 1:50.9, so there's still some room for improvement.

PS: the Willow Springs silver time also need some help from Mr. Grady :)
