My First cockpit.

This is folding cockpit design with an e-brake lever :)

Folded ( This can be folded with the wheel and pedals mounted for easy storage ):
IT's about 30 inches tall, 16 inches deep and 26 inches wide when folded.
I used 2x4s and 2x6s on this to make it sturdy and heavy.

Setting up...
Lie the box on the floor:

Lift the "table" up, the wheel is till hidden ( lying on its back towards the front).
The gear lever mount is just hanging on the side. This can be removed for storage.

The wheel is now brought up. The gear lever mounting can be removed
and stored separately by turning 2 knobs.

Here's the height adjustment for the wheel mount, one on each side.

Here are some details on the seat side:
There is a plank ( wings ) that come up on each side of the seat, maybe used as a cup holder when driving :),
i use it to mount my joystick for flight sims. The seat is mounted on slider so it can be adjusted forward and backward.
The connect loop allows the seat to be connected to the wheel side of the cockpit.

The pedals are mounted on an adjustable (forward backward) plate.

Some details on the gear level and handbrake setup:
The handbrake is a cable operated system using a brake from a mountain bike, this lever pulls a cable which in
turn moves another lever that presses a button.

The is the small lever that presses the X-button for dirt2, but can be clamped on any position to press another button.
I went this route because i did not want to open up my G27 for a mod.

Hope you guys like it.

One more thing to add ... on the brake lever, you can still press the end of the button
lever effectively pressing "X" directly if you need to.

Thats hilarious!! The handbrake pushes a button!

Ahhh genius. Great rig mate. Bargain basement but very effective!! Just my style 👍

Awesome! Engineering a folding rig is crazy complicated and when it is done with this amount of efficiency and style...major thumbs up.

Great work man!! I tried to rig up a non-electrical handbrake once but it didn't work too well, any chance you could post some more close ups of yours?
