When I have racing tires on, there not slick, they still have a tread.
Anyone else notice this or is it just my eye sight?

I'm sure this will be rectified by the time GT5 comes out, after all, slick tyres in previous GT's were actually slick and not treaded. 👍

I'm guessing if it's a street car, the "racing tires" are probably something like semi slicks.

I think in GT5P the tyres are always the stock tyres coming with the car (the 3D model).
I never noticed that the tyres changed in GT4, thats cool.

Yokohama Ad048 sure looks like a GT4 SPORT tyre type.
In GT4 the tyres were changing their visual appearence. Some classic cars have beautiful ROAD tyres with red or white rings.

In GT5p the tyres are not changing for now. But they sure will))

It's lazy programming, I hope it will change for GT5, but essentially the tyre remains visually the same whatever type or compound of tyre you choose.

In GT4 when you change tire, you could see the threads change. In GT5P you can't. I bet 100% that in GT5 it will change. I would not worry too much

GT5P is missing tons of small things like this, exhaust flames, sparks from bottoming out, tyre treads, glowing brakes etc, We should see all (or close) these things return for GT5.

YUP GT4 had glowing brakes. And they do it right, you really need to over heat them in GT4 to see them glow.

GT4 had sparks, exhaust flames, tyre treads. Glowing brakes is PC sim territory.

Exactly, thats what I am saying, they will return in GT5 (hence the term "return" in my last post) . Except GT3 and GT4 had glowing brakes...... some PC territory....

Indeed, no insta-glow.

Any proof of this? Care to post a picture? I've never seen it at all, I don't even believe it, that GT4 was more realistic than I even imagined. Forza 3's amuse me

Brakes don't glow like that on a road car. Unless you did 150-0 stops for an hour.

Look for the SVT picture in my GT4 gallery. It shouldn't be too hard to find. 👍

Sorry, I don't seem to have a larger shot.

Or bottoming out in general. I haven't been able to get a car to bottom out in GT5:P yet.

Indeed, it bottoms out on the jump at Eiger but yeah, it really has makes no effect to the car at all. I personally want even more effect than in GT4, more like in iracing. IMO it will make good tuners standout even more and make people take note how to approach big bumps, dips, jumps and curbs.

Well indeed, to the driver other than sparks GT4's effects were barely noticeable. I'm up to the task of tuning that.:sly:

Dont cars "bottom out" at Daytona road on the bumps if you set the car too low? Something I never experienced until I changed to a wheel with FFB.

Hence, Semi-Slick. Your right thats a street legal Semi-Slick a true Racing Slick has no grooves or tread what so ever....we want full contact with the road :)
