Dang it! Sorry guys had to get out my wheel was glitched:banghead:. Big crash turn one tonight hurt some of the field for sure, think i was clear of most of it but we cant win races on the first lap gang. We need to be patient and spread out then pick good spots to pass. Oh well try again next week:nervous:. Thanks tjger for the race:bowdown:...

No I didn't save the replay either.
There was no sense to. All the quitters would be on display for the entire race.
Maybe in the future they'll learn to pull their car to the side of the track like in real life.

That way we would see the normal yellow caution flags showing a disabled car.

Its a feature I like. The grid of shame.

"Accept the challenge or accept last place."

Hopefully everyone learned a lesson tonight and will be ready for next week's race at Brno.

:cool: :gtpflag:Alright Gentlemen :gtpflag::cool:
What a race!! Congrates to the podium winners.

Everyone was on a different pit strategy and it showed. I think that's what made the race exciting. Watching the different approaches to conquering this track. The Nurburgring brings out the best and worst in every driver who participates.

I'm sure most of you knew I was on soft tires for the race by my BMW placing fourth on the grid. Tire wear was perfect, but my engine started overheating early and I spent most of the race watching my temp gauge. So I had to give up two grid positions. One to NBR and the other to Trap. At the last corner of the last lap I had to give up fourth to Schmiggz's RUF. Of course my team enjoys filling the tank and I lost several seconds screaming out the window. Flashbacks of Spa.

The first corner incident. I got the pleasure of watching the entire incident. Ok, first, the last place car made one of heck of a start off the grid. From 14th to the front of the pack was unreal. Several factors began to change that great start.

1. The car missed its braking point. It also ran onto the grass(not good) and the inside wall.
It happens in the real world of racing and there's no reason why it can't happen in the virtual world. Adrenalin, nerves and the thrill of the moment can catch the best of anyone off guard.

2. We have a huge variety of drivers from different parts of the world. Age, experience, controllers, dogs, cats and spouses yelling in the background can unrattle anyone. One driver had a fire truck go by.

3. Internet speeds. I can't solve that problem. It is what it is.

One thing that was amazing about the incident was the 14th place car trying to blow/lock-up his engine in attempt to avoid the crash. I have never heard a car downshift from 5th to 1st so fast and loudly in all my virtual racing time. That's credit to SMS for making the sounds of Project Cars so real. The brake lights were so bright. My interior turned red like a Def Con 5 Alert. I almost jumped out of my seat and scramble the Alert Five fighters.

Alright, enough finger talking.

So major thanks to everyone who raced last night. I think everyone gained some valuable experience that will carry forward to future races.

So pack your bags. Brno is next.
A wide open track with a thirst for front left tires.

When patch 6.0 comes out. The tire modeling will be even more closer to realism. So don't get too comfortable with it.:lol::lol:

Thanks Tjger for the great racing evening. I made 3 pit stops, twice I came out of the pit close to last and worked my way back to third place. After my last pit stop, I was not able to do the same thing, and ended up in six. PS. Thanks to all the other drivers for there sportsmanship.

I should have done the two stop, but the car ran great.
The race was suppose to be at 5X time progression. I had it on 2X.
I was calculating the engine would start cooling off as the clouds started to move in.

Oh well, last time we raced at the Nurburgring PD released a patch just hours before the race started and look what happened.

Oh did I get the hate mail.
Once everyone learns that every race is different for whatever reason. They'll understand what the real life racers and teams go through.

Just ask everyone at the Formula One race at Austin last week.

"Shoooot, rain in Texas?" What kind of Yankeee are you?:lol::lol::lol::lol:
