Tomahawk Flaps down help

I've seen some cars in FIA activate their wiper mirrors, or honk a horn. I have a G29 and haven't figured out how to do these things with what i've got.

There are definitely some hidden controls in this game.

I wondered about this! I saw a post that mentioned 'Low drag mode' for the X and tried a TT on Route X to test it. I just assumed that it was when you got above a certain speed, the wings retracted slightly (just like the Veyron does).

Cool. 👍
Yeh, I've tried everything possible, besides getting out my old G29.
Nothing's worked for me.

But I just found what I was looking for.
Evidence of it working in 1.32
Tomahawk X on Route X, no flaps.

How'd you even find my video?

Oh well, I'll go ahead and try the other various cars mentioned in the thread and check if the "Nitro" button has any effect. Though I'm skeptical that the LMP1-H cars would make use of the "Nitro" function.

As far as I know, these are the only cars that experience a noticeable effect from "Nitro":
  • SRT Tomahawk S
  • SRT Tomahawk GTS-R
  • SRT Tomahawk X
  • NISSAN 2020 VGT

I checked this today and still cannot figure out how to brings the flaps down. Gone through every single button assignment in the G29/T-GT options and cannot find a single mention of nitro. Tried resetting buttons to default and still no nitro showed up either. How in the hell do people assign a nitro button???:boggled::odd:

I don't know sorry.
I've never touched any assignment stuff in the menue, when I actually bothered to check after seeing this thread it was just already there on my G29 R3 button, I didn't have to assign it or anything.

I think I got lucky since I started when the game first came out and they removed it a day or two after but I still had the buttons mapped for it. I still have a horn mapped to the P2 controller but never tried it

Any pictures for proof?

Have you tried other buttons on the same wheel and other wheels to see if your game has a Nitro option as well, or is it just the G29 R3 button?

What happens if you reset controller to default, does it erase the Nitro choice completely?

If it does (and I suspect it will) they will probably lose it for good in the name of testing it out. I would be interested to see a screenshot of the current button mapping showing how it differs, but it does seem like a feature they were going to implement, added to the control map, and then removed the feature before launch before noticing the mapping was still there. Makes sense.

I've never touched the map, I'm just the average Joe running the latest update and I only plugged in a wheel (G29) for the first time about 2 months ago.
So anyway I just then had a little play around and noticed something else, I've also got a horn button mapped to the "enter" button in the middle of the "on the fly" spinny red ring.
Tried a couple of road cars but not getting any horn sounds :( I can't possibly imagine why PD might have removed this function, surely people weren't abusing it in sport mode? :)
But I digress, I tried messing around with the map and although it's got horn and nitro there by default, once you select one of those buttons to re assign there is no horn or nitro option in the drop down list for you to select and it default selects accelerator to replace them.
Lucky for me I was able to cancel and back out before any changes were saved.

Edit: only just noticed that the TM wheels also have a button for windscreen wipers lol.

That is very strange indeed. Seems like it's just leftover code from GT5/6. If nothing happens when you press the button, then probably these functions are not coded in the game in the first place. The Tomahawk may be able to bring flaps down but if it's only 4 km/h increase that's nothing compared to the effect in GT6 (up to 50 km/h IIRC).

Wipers I understand why it's removed because there's no rain in GTS. But horns can be quite useful for communicating online and nitro is definitely much needed in cars that have a speed boosting function in real life (Merc F1, LaFerrari, Nissan VGT, various LMP1 hybrids and the Tomahawk).

It's about the same.
I've figured out how to get access to Nitro - button , the difference in top speed is 56 km/h

For those that can't find the button assignment, has anyone tried deleting the GT Sport save file that holds all the games settings information.

If I had a G29 I would try something like:
Console switched off (not Restmode), unplug G29 from console.
Turn on PS4 using console power button, and delete GT's settings information file.
Start GT, go through initial setup.
Plug in G29. (if it will allow you to do it in that order.)
Check button assignments.

Somehow some people have the Nitro button assigned while others don't, and I'm not sure why.
This may not work, but it might be worth a shot.

Hi everyone,

Don't know if you guys already know about this but will tell ya anyways, in the controller menu of GT Sport you will find an option that says Overtake, map it to any button, while you press that button the flaps will be retracted for max drag, hope it helps out.

Peace out....

Check the update details for 1.36 and 1.38. They outline the use of the overtake button but there may be more.
