-> I've been contemplating on posting this thread for weeks now, I am shocked that nobody, I mean nobody thought of bringing this car up!!!

-> Since the ZZ-II that we're all familiar with from GT3 is now called the ASL RS-01.

-> For Tommykaira to keep its roster even, why not bring this very car from GT2 back!? Take note, this was a very different car that the one we're accustomed to!

from Gran Turismo 2 Tommy Kaira's (Info) Screen
The ZZ model was a pure sports car from Tommykaira, Even though the ZZ cars are sadly no longer in production, the dream car designed by Tommykaira's Messrs. Tomita and Kaira still lives on.

Their new project, the ZZ2, is keeping their dream alive. The second-generation successor to the ZZ takes the "pure sports car" concept of the ZZ model a step farther, to a "pure sports racing car" that is eligible for competition.

One glance at the exterior of this car reveals that it is a racing car, pure and simple. The ZZ is all ready to goas a GT race car according to FIA rules. This would not have been possible without th expertise Tommykaira gained from building the first-generation ZZ car.

It has a durable aluminum bathtub-style monocoque chassis aith steel-tube front and rear subframes for mounting the pushrod-type double wishbone suspension. The body panels in the road version are made in fiberglass, while those of the racing version use a carbon fiber compound.

The powerplant is mounted amidships, of course. Although few details are known at present, buyers will have a choice among several engine engines rangind from 2.0 liters to 3.0 liters to suit various use purposes or racing categories. A sequential type transmission may be available in addition to the typical six-speed manual unit.

The ZZ2 will also be exeptionally light, weighing in at about 1000 kg (2,200 lbs). What's reall got potential buyers excited is the rumor that this full-spec sports car will be selling for under 10 million Yen (US$90,000).

When the ZZ2 finally gets to the market, it will be a dream come true for ZZ fans everyhere.

^ This car brought me so many excellent memories in GT2, why not share this epicness to a whole new generation!? :)

EDIT: Please lock if it doesn't meet any standards or criteria. Thank you.

EDIT 2: Added the 'info" description from GT2!

You might like to take a little longer to get the title right.

^ Unfortunately, there are conflicts throughout the interwebs on which one is the correct title of the company:

- Tommy Kaira (the name/spelling everyone recognizes)
- Tommykaira (might be the original [spelling of the] company)

-> But I'll keep the mainstream name, so I already edited it...

Does it exist?
^ What do you mean exactly, if you don't mind me asking? This ZZ-II only existed on GT2.

That wasn't the major problem. You have text that doesn't belong and the year is incorrectly formatted.

Then it has no place here. We haven't run out of real cars to nominate, so there's little need to start picking imaginary ones.

Seems like the GT2 ZZ-II did once exist - and this picture might be the only one that exists:

[EDIT: I saw you using a cropped version of the picture. Everything does seem to match with GT2 pictures except for smaller rear wing and wider front bumper "mouth". Also, read the blog post that is the source for details.]

Also, the GT2 ZZ-II and ZZ-III are based on the following design docs (Minkara Carview delivers again):

Perhaps you could try selecting the "i" icon in GT2 and see if it has any info that may help with this thread. I understand not all cars have this in GT2, but it's worth a try. 👍
^ Just added the description directly from GT2! 👍

-> Playing GT2 again on my PS3 sure makes me get goosebumps!! :D

i am absolutely in love with this design, it sucks that the pictures you can find online are little to none, would love to try to see if i could somehow make a model of it, but the lack of good references and low polycount of the only available 3d model (that would be directly ripped from gt2) is just a pain.
