heres a juicy tidbit:

Homer Simpson tops an online BBC poll that asks ``Who is the greatest American?'' The poll is still going on, but so far Homer's received over 40 percent of the votes, putting him well ahead of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Junior. Lincoln is in second place with 16 percent.

it would really take a lot of thought for me to come up with a top 10, maybe i will revise my short list later.

steve buscemi, lmfao
deniro, go watch "mean streets" and tell me he isnt god.
spacey
toshiro mifune, i have only seen a few of his movies, but he is so good
chow yun fat, god

What about Elliot Gould? Or Woody Allen?

oh yea, the list above is basically of some of my favorites. I donot think buscemi is one of the ten best living actors. He is just so hilariously freakish looking that he is so funny in any movie he is in. BTW, my sister said she saw him on halloween one year trick-or-treating as ben stiller. I think she has a friend up in new york that lives in his neighborhood. How can you not like a guy that does something like that.

yeah but how many people act like Abraham Lincoln? most of em are like homer simpson so they can relate to him better....

My personal picks, in no specific order.

Sean Connery (I don't have to say why.)
Tom Hanks (Same reason as above.)
Keanu Reeves (He's always been my ultimate favorite. :))
Robert Duvall (After seeing his performance in The Apostle, no question about it.)
Alec Baldwin (I just think he's a great actor.)
Morgan Freeman (Incredible.)
Russell Crowe (Who could forget his amazing performances in Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind?!)
Jim Carrey (Hilarious!)
Mel Gibson (Same reason as Tom Hanks and Sean Connery.)
Chris Cooper (He's such a great actor; I don't understand why he always gets supporting roles.)

I could go on-- there is well more than "10 greatest actors"!

Keanu Reeves, and one of the f-ing Baldwin brothers?!:odd:

This is 'Top 10 actors of all time', not 'Top 10 worst actors of all time'.:irked:

Well, I gotta add mine. No particular order.

Robert DeNiro (nach)
Al Pacino (Scent was his finest)
Tom Hanks (he's easy to take for granted because he's that good)
Matt Damon
Brad Pitt (VERY versitile)
Anthony Hopkins (nach)
Denzel Washington
Samuel L. Jackson
Russell Crowe (where has he been lately?)
Sean Connery

I could also add Robin Williams, Johnny Depp, James Earl Jones, Ed Norton is easy to dislike because he mostly plays sc**bags, but he's good at it & Smoochy was a pisser! I also like George Clooney, underrated & under used.

add chris cooper and robert duvall to my list. cooper was so great in adaptation.

um, guys, even if you dig jim carreys style of obnoxious comedy, how can you call him a good actor? he acts worse than a porn star!! what was the name of that drama he was in a couple years ago? i cringed whenever i saw the ad for it on tv.

It was called The Majestic and I thought it was great. He IS a good actor! :irked:

Oh hush! :irked: Almost every single Keanu Reeves movie I have come across I love. And Alec Baldwin, what's so bad about it? He's a terrific actor! I would say Ghosts of Mississippi and Pearl Harbor are his best.

By the way...Clay Aiken IMO is the greatest singer alive!

Wait a second....HOW COULD I FORGET THE GREAT GEORGE CLOONEY?! *Adds him to the list*

you mixed the quotes up.

but anyway, i was being sarcastic. too many people take me too seriously.

(i actually did catch the last episode of that show [the only one i watched!!], and i did think he had a much better voice than the other dude.)

Oops...thanks for telling me.

I like Ruben, he's great; but Clay just has the package.

Ok my favs or................
Nicolas Cage
Jack Nickelson
Jim Carry
Robert DeNiro
Russell Crowe
Tom Hanks
Samuel L. Jackson
Val Kilmer.
Ed Harris
Al Pacino

Right mine -

1. Robert De Niro
2. Jack Nicholson
3. Edward Norton
4. Al Pacino
5. Samuel L. Jackson
6. Kiefer Sutherland (Just because of 24!)
7. Kevin Spacey
8. Russell Crowe
9. Tom Hanks
10. Morgan Freeman

For a chick it's Valerie bertinelli, just love them made for tv movies!👍

Guy, the late, great John Candy. I miss ya buddy. :(

Valerie Bertinelli.... You're showin' your age, bro' ;)
I had it bad for her since "One day at a Time". When she married Eddie I figured; "Well, if I can't, then I'll let him do it" (Did they get back together?)
She'd put on a couple pounds last time I saw her..... Guess that happens to the best of 'em.

Edward and Valerie's divorce became final over a year ago. Ed has a new girlfriend, her name escapes me right now, but she is about 30 years old, skinny, small blond with no special looks.

Val had been dating a fellow actor she meet from an episode of Touched By An Angel, but I think it's over. She sold her house that Ed bought her and moved in with an actress friend of hers, so I've heard. Yeah , she gained a few pounds but I don't care, I like my women on the voluptuous side anyway!:D

my favorite actors...

1. Humphrey Bogart, I don't consider this my opinion, I consider it a fact, for any of you who do not have this man on your list, you haven't watched his movies. You're probably afraid of black and white, color is not what makes a great movie, it's the actors. If you have seen his movies and don't have him on your list, you lack good taste.
2. Marlon Brando, when he was young, 1950's young, like in "On The Waterfront," or "A Streetcar Named Desire"
3. Gregory Peck
4. Robert DeNiro
5. Al Pacino
6. Jack Nicholson
7. Christopher Walken, a much underrated actor, not recognized enough or given enough publicity because hollywood can't see talent anymore and neither can the people
8.Carroll O'Connor
9. Anthony Hopkins
10. Ben Stiller

Others: Roberto Benigni, Nicholas Cage, Matt Damon

Favorite actresses:
1. Audrey Hepburn
2. Lauren Bacall
I don't know any other actresses names that are worth typing

I'd like to say that I despise julia roberts, my cat has more talent than that low class broad.

I no order

-Tim Robbins (Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.)

-James Stewert

-Kevin Spacey

-Al Pacino

-Bob De Niro

-William Defoe

-C Walken

-Bill Murry (every one needs some comedy)

(Up and comming)
Jake Gyllenhaal

(Personal Favorites)
Philip Seymor Hoffman
Vince Vaughn in Swingers
