Torque problems?

Hi guys,

I started playing GT3 again and noticed something - all of my heavily tuned cars have literally NO torque. I have some supercars and race cars with 900 or 1000hp and 50lb/ft of torque? Is this normal - and if so, why is it? The only thing I can think of is that I tuned them (Stage 4 Turbo, Stage 3 N/A) to create lots of power up top with no down-low torque... But 30? 40? 50 pounds feet? :scared:

Misreading on GT3's part, I believe it's in kgf.m instead of ft-lbs.

Note that ANY car reads low as hell the instant you look at it in the garage. 👍

Yea, as RJ says, the reason torque readings are so low in GT2 and GT3 is because PD screwed up, and didn't properly convert torque from metric to a standard measurement of force. You can convert it yourself by going like this

metric torque x 2.204 x 3.28 = standard torque

Yes it's a conversion error from the Japanese or European versions of the game. Whatever the torque rating is, I just multiply that by 7 for an approximate value in ft-lb. For example, if a car's got 49 torque, that's about 340-350 ft-lb.

I just bought GT1 and started playing, and it is much "worse" in GT1. I bought a AE86 and it had 886 lb/ft, I now have a Mitsubishi GTO with 1600 lb/ft of torque at 4500RPM. It melts the tires ;)
