Tougher penalties!!!

Drive defensively, that's all I can say. If you hit someone, slow down or stop until they recover. Do this in single player also, it'll become second nature.

The only way I could see races being cleaner is if dirty driving could be reported and those with enough valid reports (like not just someone getting mad over an accidental tap) get suspended from Sport Mode for awhile and if it continues, banned permanently. In GT Sport I think PD at least put out a post saying that they were going to do this, but there are no signs whatsoever if this happening in 7.
If anything now more people purposely race dirty to try getting into videos or at least be talked about on the internet. Dirty driving makes controversy and controversy can make money and publicity, so unless PD wants to change it, things will probably just get worse and I see no sign that PD wants to change.

I disagree. Remember the very punishing penalties of GTS early on? If
touched someone, there was a penalty. Ergo, touching people could potentially ruin your race, so non contact was the dominant strategy.

Now, contact is the dominant strategy because so much of it goes unpunished, and it's most likely that the victim will have their race ruined.

The SR system could work fine if they simply uncapped the score and stopped assigning letter grades.

Penalty system... yeah just throw it out and start over.

There's a DR E...did you know that? I have no idea because C is what you get if you finish races.

Increase the penalties and USE the system to it's fullest. If someone rams someone else, and that is 100% being detected now, they go to DR E. You'll end up DR E being full of the worst people even if they have skill. The only way out will be to be clean.

Everyone should because that's where you are for the first five races in GT Sport and, if you didn't carry your progress over, in GT7. It's where everyone starts.


Also lightly curious why you felt the need to dig up this specific year-dormant thread for this rather than posting in any of the as-old-but-active threads about the penalty system...

When I searched for penalty threads, this is the one that came up. I searched for the threads you mentioned, but didn't see them. tried to look for more current ones, but the top of the list started going back even further in time.
