Just before the Helloween event
Ah, Helloween. I still have nightmares. :scared:

(That was 6 months ago! Where's the time gone?)

It feels like the end of an era, I cannot help but be sad somehow.
There is that sort of odd feeling around. :odd:
The PS3 and GT6 are growing old I suppose and people are slowly drifting away onto pastures new. Be it PS4 and pCARS (& GT7 eventually) or PC. Whether I'll move on, well I'm undecided yet.

I actually had a go on GT5 recently just to reminisce. I quite enjoyed driving around my old course maker tracks.

You know what they say, all good things must come to an end.
I will stay on GT6 for a while yet. It is quite clear that many people have moved on to
other things but I want to try out a new idea in a new Club so I'll give that a chance
and see how it goes. :)

You guys were the first I raced with on GTP back in the Z8 club.

:D

BTW offline the grid is up to 45 (FORTY-FIVE) !
Really? That is truly amazing!
Big grids are really exciting and if it's possible to have forty-five cars they even out-do Nascar by two.

I believe Wayne @Wayne Gratiot said he had 100+ tracks made in the old course maker. :)

I made a few more recently to bring my total GT5 course maker tracks to a nice round 250. Longest are 7.08 miles and with a slight tweek in one turn on that track, I made the Boeing 7.07 Mile Flyway. I also have about 30 friends' tracks from before the day the servers died. That was fun to get together online and run each other's newest creations.

This is one sole reason why Course Maker should be on GT6!

I used to have loads but they got a bit out of hand so I whittled them down to my 50(ish) favourites. Most are around 2.5 to 4 miles in length. The longest just over 5 miles. It used to be good for making short kart tracks too - there's not enough in GT6.

I'd spend hours in the course maker trying to create the perfect tracks - tweaking corner amounts, sharpness and cambers. Which wasn't easy given it's rather random nature of generating things. You'd get the barriers almost in the right position, change one thing and everything else would shift around! I spent ages once trying to get some trees to appear in one spot just to hide the castle which would suddenly pop in to view in the distance. I managed it though. Happy days.

It's a great shame that due to the lack of a new course maker PD didn't at least include the old one and enable some kind of import feature to allow us to use our GT5 tracks. They seem such a waste just sitting there.

The new course maker (if it ever arrives) will I think refresh my interest in GT6 - that's if it's any good.

Oops! After all this talk, I just had to go run some GT5 course maker tracks and found I was busier than I thought last time on GT5. I have 276 tracks and might as well go for an even 300 at this point.

Imagine the fun if we were able to run a series like this Toyota event and run it on tracks created by the participants. Each player brings not only cars, but their own track for everyone to race on.

You've left them alone for a awhile and they've started breeding. :)

You would need to allow drivers time to have a little practice on them first though.
I do hope the track sharing is handled better than in GT5. That was a bit tedious having to set just the one to be uploaded each time.

Its always possible because of internet connection that cars moving a bit strange. Not because my connection is bad, but it happen sometimes that i see other ones moving strange. I try to drive fair always, but sometimes in corners its difficult to pass you know...

I want to know what i did wrong in the last race? I always try to drive as fair as possible!
I remember before qualifying started you had typed that you saw 6 on track - when you should have seen 12. Now if that situation carried on into the race I think that may have caused much of the problems with contact with other drivers. It would especially problematic on the first corner. It may have looked deliberate to those you might have hit, but you would not have known they were there.

I remember in GT5 if one driver couldn't see someone else that person wouldn't see him either. It may look strange when, for other drivers, the cars merged on track, but it was workable. The current GT6 situation where nobody's quite sure who can see who - isn't.

Let Jocke have a look into it.

I think I would have liked driven there. :)

You can make the 300th track in the layout of a bowling lane.
As in a 'perfect game' to use bowling terms, where you score 300 points.

I remember an F1 driver saying once that a good driver should be able to learn any track within three laps.
Can't remember who it was though.

I never got the chance to use the course creator since I only had GT5 Prologue and not the full game.
It sounds really fun but I wonder how much freedom you had?
Could you shape it anyway you wished?
I would make a course longer than the Nordschleife in the shape of a womans body from an aerial view.
Something like this;

Yes I read that too and it has happened other times for you as well, Mathieu.
I suspect your connection can't keep up with the rest perhaps.
What are you using to go online with?

At the start you had a get together with Gavin / Vicars and I would think you didn't see him
because later at turn 5 you did a good job of avoiding buybon as he made a mistake.
You definitely saw buybon then.

Lap 3 turn 9 looked very strange when you, Manny and gk tried to share the same spot
on the track. It's obvious the connections between you three didn't co-operate because the cars
bounced off of each other in an unnatural manner.

Same thing on lap 4 turn 4 when you pushed Gavin off the track. You can't have seen him
then either because it just didn't look right.

but I wonder how much freedom you had
Not that much.
Could you shape it anyway you wished?
Unfortunately no. It was all a bit hit or miss. It took a lot of trial and error to get it to behave how you it wanted to.

Again, no. I did manage to get a track shaped like a toy duck once. Not quite the same though.
