Toyota Looking to Add Another Performance Division

The GRMN Mark X 350S SARD 6MT only 350 made. Released on March 11 https://global.toyota/jp/newsroom/toyota/26125233.html
With the new Australian import laws, I'd snatch this up in a heartbeat. Would look so right in showrooms, between the 86 and Supra.

The Mark X "GRMN" is a limited edition model that stands at the top of the sports car series "GR" manufactured by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. The second generation of the Mark X "GRMN", which has been released in 100 units in 2015 and has received high acclaim from car enthusiasts, has evolved about three years ago. In order to meet customers who expect the unique performance of the "FR sedan manual car", we have pursued the performance unique to FR sports by combining a 6-speed manual transmission and a V6 3.5 L naturally aspirated engine based on 350 RDS.

In order to achieve a comfortable shift operation, we are changing the rear differential gear ratio and tuning the operation system. In order to match with the transmission, special tuning such as engine output control characteristics was also performed. In addition, to further enhance the high-level body rigidity of the predecessor model "GRMN", the Motomachi plant, which has built in a number of sports models, added spot welding points in all 252 locations. Furthermore, combined with a specially designed suspension using a newly developed absorber and tuning of the EPS * 5 , it is a car that can realize the response that is at will and at will.

In the exterior, as well as special equipment such as darkening of bright parts and decorations such as front bumpers, 4 mufflers (large baffles), 19-inch BBS forged aluminum wheels and different size tires, rear calipers, brake calipers (white paint, front only We adopt design parts suitable for the top of GR sedan such as GR logo) & sports brake pads.

In the interior, an instrument panel with a combination of carbon decoration and piano black paint, and a dedicated sports front seat for Ultra Suede® * 6 skin, etc., are black-based to enhance the feeling of running.

In addition, a carbon roof panel that uses CFRP * 7 for roof panel weight reduction has been set as an option (¥ 270,000 including tax). We aim to reduce the weight by 10 Kg at the upper center of gravity and lower the center of gravity to enjoy more agile running.

The dashboard of that car looks like its about 10 years old, compared to basically every other Toyota. Generally, that's pretty cool though.

Dang. Just when I found out this car was racing two years ago, it's become one of my favorite race cars of all time. I like the road car, but now it's on it's last model.

TOYOTA Launches Mark X Special Edition-ForThanks to Your Half-Century Customers-

TOYOTA set the Mark X to the special specification model 250S "Final Edition" and 250S Four "Final Edition", and launched it on April 24 * 1 .

Mark X has been in use for over 50 years since its debut as Mark II, a predecessor model in 1968, but production will end in December 2019. The Mark II, which began with a family car, is sensitive to changes in the times, and has evolved as its appearance, making it a central part of the FR sedan. After changing the name to Mark X in 2004, we have continued to renounce its name as a car that can be "beautiful" and "run at will" with the aim of further heightening, but let's close its history in the history And Finally, with special thanks, we have set up a specially designed car.

Bear in mind the model pictured is most like a GR Sport variant rather than a full-fat GR, because there is no way those brakes belong on a performance car! :P

Jimini Cricket!....

The current-generation model (codenamed S220) was launched in 2018 and recently went through a minor update bringing a larger infotainment system to unify the previously two individual displays. A worrying report from Japan claims the Crown could become an entirely new vehicle for what would be its sixteenth generation – an SUV.
