I lol'd... The difference between Stage 2 and Stage 3 HP is - brace yourself - a taggering 1HP! You get to pay only Cr. 10,000 for that 1HP!

Yes, it's true... A mistake, I assume?

Do you have all of the accompanying upgrades? I could, for instance, see not having the upgraded exhaust manifold seriously hampering performance...

I'm pretty upset that it took many many hours to find a Supra after every race..and it's NA. It won't allow me to turbo it!

Well no, the turbo is stand-alone part. You don't need to install Stages 1 and 2 to install Stage 3...

N/A? There are 2 road legal Supra's in GT5. The SZ-R (single turbo) and the RZ (twin turbo). No N/A. You must be doing something wrong.

I actually purchased the SZ-R and it wouldnt let me throw a turbo on it aswell, i just assumed N/A and what not. I put every mod on that car and only managed to get it up to 347hp.

Response to bold: BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.

The SZ-R is NA. Always has been, always will be.

If you have the standard exhaust, doesn't it effect the amount of power the stage 3 turbo adds? I thought the other modifications had the effect of multiplying gains from other tuning parts but I could be wrong.

its said that stage 1 is for low RPM, stage 2 for mid and 3 for high RPM
maybe you should check the HP graph from stage 2 and 3 to see if there is any difference
I guess with the stage 2 the line peaks lower than stage 3

Intresting info, but are we sure the tuning functions that way, that you really "feel" the differance between low and high rpm turbos?

I've noticed some cars have tiny difference between stage 2 and 3 turbos, but once you do header, intake manifold, exhaust, intake, then that difference is bigger.

I have both of these cars in GT5, the difference seems to be:
RZ '97 - Allows turbos (I have Stage 3 on it), comes with 5 speed transmission
SZ-R - Doesn't allow turbos or supercharger, comes with 6 speed getrag transmission

I have the RZ tuned pretty high (646hp), and keep the SZ-R stock(219hp), both are great cars, though I would say the RZ is tuned too high for it's suspension capability so I have not gone past engine stage 1 tuning.

That´s weird.. In real life the Supra (2JZ-GTE) -94 and newer had a 6-speed getrag.

I acually had one of those about 8 years ago.. Best car I´ve ever owned! :)

The RZ '97 comes with a 6-speed transmission in this game just like it does in real life.. so what Kludger said is incorrect.

Actually you are right, thanks for clarifying that, I just checked it again and in driving the RZ there's 6 gears, I guess I was fooled when I posted by comparing the "transmission" screen on the RZ which showed the 5 speed close ratio not buyable but the 6 speed buyable, so I thought it must have a 5 speed close-ratio tranny already.

Cool cars to find in GT5 and good to hear from people who actually own them and know the real deal, in the 90's I drooled when I'd see one of these.
