Hello all!!!!

I have spent tons of hours trying to get these settings right, so be gentle...:sly:

They are an all around track settings, but I have evolved them for Nürburgring in specific....And I am also very curious as to everyones opinion on these!!!!
You see, those settings apply preety good to both my driving style, as to a friend of mine!!! I hope everyone will think of the same!!!!:)

The tuning of the car is on its maximum and it is N/A. Remember, the settings apply for the N/A model, not the turbocharged one….Also, the tyres have to be Racing….doesn’t matter much if it is Hard, Super Hard, or Soft, etc. It works fine for all!!!! I do not have to state that by using the softest tyre, you get the best results….

Here you go then!!!!! Enjoy….:) :) :)

For further questions, I am at your disposal!!!! :)

I will try your setup, because I have been working on the ultimate FF setup and just reworked a Vitz 1.5 RS, and RS Turbo a couple of days ago! :)

I am also curious if you could provide us with your best lap time with the car.

(My Vitz 1.5 RS (non-turbo) was able to achieve a fast lap of 7:56.7 with 195hp and a top speed cap of 120mph. Using the ultimate FF setup which I will post soon.) :sly:

I'm not sure about my best lap in Nürburgring....

I think it was something like 7:30....(with a N/A 221Hp Vitz) but don't hold your breath!!!! In 24 Hours or so, I will be close to my PS2 and get the time from the standings! Only then I will be able to be exact....sorry!!!!

I feel that the car runs smoothly with this setup, but I also feel like the setup is too much for the HP....it needs more HP!!!!!!!!! Too bad you can't mod the 1NZ-FE (that's the name of engine of the 1,5 Vitz) higher than that!!!!! ;)

Thanks for the input mate!!!! I await your comments after your test!!!! :) :) :)

I will also give you my exact fastest lap tomorrow....:)

Ok..I looked it up, and I was wrong!!!!

It was 7:35 and a few other digits with the use of nitrous...

But without the nitrous my official time in Gran Turismo mode, free run, is 07:40:490.

That is for Nürburgring with a full tunned Vitz RS 1,5 (2000 model) with Racing-Qualify tires.

I have it on replay, but I don't know how to get it out from the PS2 memory card and upload it on the net somewhere for all of you to see....sorry!!!!💡

I tried out your setup and found it to be decent. It exhibited a little more understeer then I like, but perhaps our driving styles are not the same. :)

I am however curious as to whether you were using a DS2 or a DFP (G25)?

I like your method of tuning and you share some settings that are very close to my own. If you would like to see my own FF settings I posted a general setting which is close to what I run on my Vitz and other lightweight FF cars.

Good setup though! 👍 ( I didn't use driver aids )

If you are curious I was able to pretty much match your time (non nitrous) with R3 racing tires instead of R5s. I like R3 tires better (they let the car be itself more). I think my exact lap time was 7:42.xxx, or around that. Sorry didn't have a whole lot of time to test setup! :)

BTW, you double posted!

Thanks a lot mate!!! The understeer can be avoided by changing the damper bound and rebound on the rear, to a lower level....I like it better like that! As you said! Driving style!!!!

What's that???? Help please.... I use the original dualshock 2 game pad!
Is that anyone of the above???

Yes, thank you very much!!!! I do want to see new stuff! That's the reason for this post! to make my settings the best for FF!!! I want to see the Vitz fly...if it could!!!!! LoL

Good setup though! 👍 ( I didn't use driver aids )

Glad you like it bud!!!!! :) We must help each other and try to find the perfect tune for FF (if such a thing exists...) ;)

Will try it too! Without the aids and without R5s, but with R3 and no nitrous and this time I will do my absolutely best!!!!! I don't know if I can get you time though.....:)

BTW, you double posted!

You mean the double responce???? Sorry, should have edited the original post....was a bit hasty....if an admin-mod wishes it, he/she should merge my two consecutive posts on this thread!
Won't do it again!!!! :)

Keep the inputs comming please!!!!
If a better setting comes up, I will edit my original starter post on this thread, and update it accordingly! :)

Had to try your set-up and ran a 7'27.204 with it on R5's tires no aids or NOS. I use the default for the brake as you did no note the control's setting. I think the heght is low and springs are a little high. Plus it could less understeer.
stidrivervitzrs15r5ringbp2.jpg

Made some small changes to the set-up. Ran a 7'26.570 and should be abel to get into the 7'25's with them eze.
springs 6.5/7.0
height 110/114
toe 0.0/-1.0
Brakes 1/1

Ok...will give it a go right now and let you know later on!!!!

But trust me....the Vitz needs stiff setup....I have one in real life and for track usage it works better with a stiff suspension!!!! Even for bumpy tracks like Nürburgring....

Maybe it's different for Gran Turismo....Will try it and let you know!!!! Thanks again mates!!! :)

Keep the opinions comming!!!!! :) :) :) :)

Well, I used your settings mate, and you were right!!!!!

I only made some slight modifications (to fit my driving style more...) from what you suggested, and the Vitz IS flying!!!!! Thanks a lot!!!!

I have updated the original post with the new settings!!!! Very close to your own!!!! :)

Here is my time!!!! I also saved in the PS2 memory card the video....I still don't know how to upload it into the PC....:(

Does the use of a wheel improve one's times???

Anyway, I await more opinions!!!!! :) :) :)

I am glad to see that you like my setup. :) I must ask, did you use the tire stagger? Also, you are going to want to use toe out not toe in. How does the car handle now? When I did my testing a stiffer rear spring rate increased understeer (contrary to real life) and you are running way stiffer then my setup.

If you could describe the handling of the car, I am very curious?

Also the wheel isn't any faster or slower then the DS2 (controller). It is however a better device to use for drifting and does provide a more entertaining and superior driving feel. Setups between the two are also very different.

What is the tire stagger???
Do you mean the use of R3's,instead of R5's????

TOE out you say???? Will try it also!!!

The car is running smooth on Nürburgring with the lower rate on the springs!! Plus, the rise of height, has given "more room" for the suspension to work on such a bumpy track, enabling the car to maintain higher top speeds!

It feels like the car has fewer limits to work on, but the numbers say otherwise!!!!

I LIKE IT!!!!!!

But I'm a bit confused....I used the settings that "stidriver" gave me....:)
I just couldn't match the time he made....nice!!!!! :) :) :)

Whoops! Sorry I thought you were reffering to the setup that I told you about!

What is the tire stagger???
Do you mean the use of R3's,instead of R5's????

Tire stagger is when you run different compound tires front to back
(example: I used R3s on the front and R2s on the back)

TOE out you say???? Will try it also!!!

Toe out in the rear will help the car rotate around corners, but decrease stability.

This is the setup I mentioned above.

Dampers Bound- FR: 4 RR: 2
Dampers Rebound- FR: 8 RR: 5
Camber- FR: 4.0 RR: 1.5

Stabilizers (anti-roll bars)- FR: 5 RR: 7
( the ride height in general should be set to lowest then raised 5mm in front and 9mm in the back to provide sufficient stroke room and ground clearance)

This suspension setup supports only DS2 users. If a DFP is used the setup will be too twitchy. Howerver, all you have to change is the rear spring rate (up to around 5.0), tweak the camber (set to 2.0), and then change the brake balance rear to 10, and the diff deaccle to between 10 and 15. Everything should be acceptable with these changes!

This setup is for my driving style, which is agressive, straight line braking, and high skill. Only recommeded for expert drivers. 👍

(you will most likely have to make adjustments to fit your driving style) :)

Thank D-Drac. Glad it the change help you go faster. I will have to give your update a ran.

eg6_dude I'm also going to give your set-up some time and see how it runs too.

edit eg6_dude I'm going to put the wings at max as you did put in a settting. Plus you have not trans numbers.

Update. I have ran both set-ups. D-Drac my time was about the same. The car feeled a little different. Eg6_dude good set-up jest to low. I moved the height up and pick up about 2 seconds. I also played around with It and the new time is a 7'16.206. Below is the set-up used.

Ok!!!! I gave eg6_dude's setup a try!!!! I couldn't get a faster lap with this setup though.....My time is here.

I find it one hell of a setup....One needs time to get used to it's oversteering attitude and it's sudden lifts of the rear part of the car, but if you can accomplice that, your lap will sure be fast.
Only one thing!
If one hasn't got enough driving time in his/her back, these settings are a bit scary!!!! This the only wrong I could find with it.
It sure is the way you have described it mate! It is for experienced drivers and that part was the most fun of them all!!!!! All and all.....I loved it!

I'm going to experiment a bit more with both of your setups guys, and make my own fusion of both of them.

I'm very curious on the result of such a venture, but I truly think that somewhere in beetween we can make the ultimate setup for this car and this track!!!! Bear with me on this.....

After I'm done, we can discuss further on what you think!!!! With all our minds and experience together, we will for sure be able to create one great tune, which will be aplicable for all FF cars (with slight modifications...)!!!!

By the way? I'm wondering? Which car do you think is better for FF tuning? I think the Integra type R. Any other thoughts????

Happy New Year to all!!!!! :) :) :) :)

My username (civic eg6) is a good canidate for the best. However the DC2 Type-R and the FTO GP Version R. The basic tuning needs for a FF is lightweight and the ability to handle at least 260 hp without breaking a sweat. :sly:

(these are my opinions on cars with best driving feel and pleasure, please give feedback) :)

I would agree with those two eg6_dude, and add the following.

Renaultsport 172 - great fun and able to take the power

Nissan Primera 2.0 Te - don't laugh it may be big and it may be old, but its more than capable, they didn't base a BTCC car off it for nothing - well worth an old-school play.

Regards

Scaff

....around with It and the new time is a 7'16.206. Below is the set-up used....

Interesting.... the last time you posted you said that you were content with 7'25.xxx. Your new time is 7'16.xxx. That is a very fast time for a car with 220hp and no NOS. Also after such an effort before, finding almost 10 seconds would be quite a task....

Not that I don't believe you :) ....I would just like some proof of such a laptime. A reply would be nice as it would show all the exact details. A picture would be insufficient. (you could be using NOS, and a turbo and we would never know)

A spectacular time by the way, you are an amazing driver.... seconds faster then the person who made that setup.

I can't believe the Vitz can go that fast. Please get back to us with the reply of that awesome lap. :)

I went back for another stint with the vitz. In two laps I was able to come within a second of that time so I guess I really don't need to see the reply now, but it would still be cool. :)

I changed the setup by running R3 tires on the back and R5 tires on the front.

How can I view this????? I have PAL!!!!!

Is there a PC video player available????

I am working on making a video for you. Waiting for a cable I need for my DVD recorder.

update. I have a video for download at this link. http://media7.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=2129 The file is 86.58mb in size. You need to use a software dvd player program to see it. I tried to convert it to a windows player format, but could not find a convertor program that make the video that look good.

Smooth!!!!! Real Smooth mate!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Great driving!!!!!

Are you using DFP or the PS2 game pad????

Well done!!!! I'm impressed!!!!! :) :) :) :) 👍
