I just figured out this: I don't remember Kaz saying that GT6 would have 7 tracks "more than GT5". He said "7 NEW tracks".
Well, there are at least 6 of them we already know:

Goodwood
Andalucia
Matterhorn
Silverstone
Willow Springs
Ascari

Other classic tracks that gt6 might or might not include are not due to be accountend on this list, as they're technically not NEW. So yeah, there's a chance for seattle, apricot hill, midfield and SSR11, and that wouldn't break the "7 new tracks" rule. That's probably the reason why we've been doin' a mess with calculations...

This would mean: get ready for another surprise track, and let's see which classic tracks are to come, whether in game or dlc :dunce:

Personally, I expect the classic tracks we've seen in the trailers so far (seattle, SSR11, apricot hill...) to be in the game, while other may come later as dlc

Weren't the PD guys seen taking data of Bathurst?

Brands Hatch is in too.

Well, that makes 7, or maybe six if we can consider Ascari and Andalucia the same "location"...
So either no classic track is included (wich is the least thinkable option, since we've already seen some of them in trailers or leakages), or PD didn't account them as "new tracks"

Bathrust should also be there but with only a few tracks being added, what about rally racing? we haven't heard any of that yet.

if el capitan is not there i wont be happy

Goodwood is very likely to include the rally stage, too... since they went there to scan, I suppose they scanned the whole location :)

When was Ascari Confirmed? And isn't Andalucia just a course maker location?

Kaz himself never said anything. The press release states

The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new.

So yes it says seven new locations but the issue is with the "taking the total to 33 [locations]". If the total locations is 33, including the 26 currently in GT5 that only leaves room for seven more tracks whether they're new or not. The only way there can be more is if the 33 number is wrong or the classification of what is a location in GT5 has changed.

By the way, there are already threads on this.

if so, great: there's another circuit yet to be unveiled, although I have the feeling that Ronda will be something more than just a course maker location...

This was the point I was making in another thread a couple weeks back. That the numbers they were giving us weren't adding up. At the debut event there was that sign that said 6 new locations more than GT5, with a total of 33 locations. You seem to count the create a track locations, I don't btw.

Well GT5 has 30 locations with DLC and 25 without. Either number plus 6 doesn't come to 33. So either we were losing 3 tracks from GT5 if DLC was included in "over GT5", or DLC from GT5 is not included in that and there would be 8 new locations, not 6.

Yet at the same tim, I can't imagine PD not including Spa, Motegi and maybe the other DLC tracks in GT6. So even if there ends up being more than 6 new locations not including create a track locations, I still suspect that contrary to what PD has said, that not EVERY track from vanilla GT5 would be in GT6. I think there's going to be at least one missing if the final location count stays at the advertised 33.

So, probably there will be no classic track at all, and we'll get those one we've seen evidence of as dlc

GT5 has 31 locations according to the latest website, 27 without DLC. We are assuming they've merged the two Eiger locations into one to get to 26, plus 7, is 33. However it's possible they've also merged other locations to allow for others.

We can only wait and see at this point.

LE mans has 2 locations 2005 and 2009...

Have to remember that just because you've seen a track or it's been confirmed at this point as near finished, it may not make it into the launch package. Completely different tracks might be added at launch with others like Willow Spring, Brands Hatch etc...saved for DLC. You never know with PD.

Hey, how about Seattle? It appeared in new NSX trailer.
It should be in since the new NSX is confirmed to be in GT6.

Well this is true, given that they've done a whole press release and stated Willow Springs will be in the game I doubt that one will be DLC, same for Silverstone and Goodwood but sure, tracks like Brands and Bathurst which have been mentioned officially but not 'revealed' by PD could certainly be DLC.

We can only wait and see. All we do know is the same, unless the 33 figure is in some way incorrect we're getting 7 more tracks than GT5.

I hear ya :) I want El Capitan too and also want Seattle the others I could live without if I must but I really want these 2. Would also like to have New York and Seoul, don't want either of the Paris tracks but if they are there I'll live ;)

I think the classic GT tracks such as Midfield and El Capitan will be released as DLC.
Imagine a sales pitch for GT6:-

Includes many tracks from at least 3 years ago!...(GT5 tracks)
And some even older tracks!..............................(GT classics)

To a non-diehard casual gamer the above would be none to appealing.
That's why I believe the 6 or 7 NEW tracks will be Silverstone, Brands Hatch, etc., as discussed.

Then at some later date a CLASSICS DLC will be released, adding this CHOICE for adding the older tracks into GT6.
