OFFENSE
* I have always had a natual hatred for Autumn Ring. The Autumn Ring Mini course can stay, but I've always hated Autumn Ring because the course is just an accident waiting to happen for me. Beautiful as the course is, it's evil alterego will always provide headaches for those giving it a run with faster cars. This is just like why I hate using very fast cars on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, because the course too risky for very fact machinery. Yet the idea of LMPs on Autumn Ring seems like a classic matchup to some people. * Citta di Aria was a track I always feared. I've hated it even more with some of the license tests including the Final which has you racing one of my least favorite sports cars, the Lotus Esprit. The compliment I've given Citta di Aria is that it has a beautiful setting. Other than that, I'd probably tell you to be thankful damage isn't in GT4, because your car will be f:censored:ed up after racing around these streets. And people like to b:censored: about street courses not having passing or having one lane of passing, many tracks are nothing. THIS is a bad street course where you make more mistakes than faster lap times. It is also one of the tracks where I will actually admit that it isn't for weaker cars, considering you're climbing up the hill to the Finish Line in the normal configuration. * I've hated Autumn Ring, but one track HAS to go immediately (or at least replaced)- the Beginner Course. I would replace Beginner Course with either a better beginner course, or even Mallory Park. PD may have to define beginner. Does beginner entail someone who can't race a car properly or have the money and know-how to take a car around the track? A track like this would have been perfect for Sega GT classic, where there weren't as many interesting courses. I'd even replace Beginner Course with some sort of amateur-level course like Thunderhill or Willow Springs.
DEFENSE
* Ah, the usual "get rid of all rally courses" deal. I'd just improve on the rally detail. Featuring as many different racing disciplines as possible makes racing games fun and varied. If you want to be an ingrate, go right ahead. * Seattle isn't a bad course. It is a suspension track which also favors a great-handling car. It is a nice challenge. Take it from a guy who defends most street courses. * I'm not good at Tsukuba, but I respect the course since it is a very popular proving ground. At least this track is more interesting than Beginner Course. * I've hated Opera Paris and Hong Kong at first, but I find myself taking back my hate of Hong Kong. Believe it or not, I do a lot of street course testing at Hong Kong because many courses can have unorthodox and non-flowing corners. This track gives a lot of them to you at once. Opera Paris is more of a car breaker as well as a super-slow course. If I wanted a French street course challenge, I'd probably look for a better track in Paris. I'd keep George V Paris. * Special Stage Route 11 was actually fast and fun, though Tokyo R246 surpasses SSR11 in these respects.
There is still room for improvement. I'd likely suggest a collection of interesting amateur courses as well as world-class pro level courses. I'd also be interested to see PD come off with a few more original fantasy courses not based on real cities. How about some quality race courses which exhibit the PS3's power? Just don't make some of the mistakes Forza Motorsport made with fantasy courses. What mistakes? Mr. *McLaren* made his claims long ago on certain track designs in Forza. Do a search for it.
