TRANS AM & CAN AM / Sundays 17:00-19:00 BST: CHAMPIONS Flaco T7 & Lex Lathor TA1 & 2Finished

Looks like I missed a great race! Thought I had posted here to let you know I would be away. My buddy and I spent the weekend up in Daytona for the Rolex 24 Hours.

I'll be there this week for sure!

You lucky thing!

If you got any good photos at Daytona feel free to post a few on here - it's nice to see real cars as well as virtual ones.

Thanks to Lex for giving me the grid and results. I'll need them again next week please as I can't race on Sunday. :(

There are definitely going to be some spaces available on Sunday so if anyone hasn't raced for a while e.g. Whispercrew, Racercad, Emotional Rekz etc. please feel free to join us - just check the start of the thread for car and colour details etc.

This week I have been working on a new series for Summer 2015 (replacing the Ford GT40 Cup). If anyone would like to help with testing the cars, just let me know and I will give you car details.

Great work Lex and Tony. For the benefit of readers unfamiliar with the "Horst Kwech" trophy - it awards points to racers who make up places relative to their qualifying position.

Race Report Poster.jpg

The Trans Am 1 cars are featured on the race report poster this week. Even though I only came 8th I thoroughly enjoyed driving the Nissan Bluebird 510 and battling hard with Flaco (also Nissan) and Maximusmonster (Alfa). SmileyWRX and Makovics will be guest driving the Nissan at next weeks Motegi Twin Ring round as a reward for coming 1st and 2nd in the Trans Am 1 race.

After the sweet handling and low powered Nissan Bluebird I just couldn't get the hang of my Ford Mustang Mach 1 and probably spent more time off the track than on it. The race started well, with everyone in a tight pack and I was in a good position having passed some cars off the line, but a momentary lapse in concentration and I was off and detached from the pack.

This car is very challenging to drive - too challenging and fast for my current level of skill. The leading group were setting a fantastic pace and were pulling away from me by several seconds a lap. I was saved from the ignimony of last place by Danielsspel getting trapped in the pits.

Can Am by Toyota 7 Race Results
1st - Flaco
2nd - Lex Lathor
3rd - Ning Dynasty

4th - Pimiki

Fast or slow, online novice or seasoned racer - there is a slot on the grid waiting for you - don't delay, act now !!!

Well this race was a microcosm of my first five week stint here with you guys, a case of missed opportunity.

Felt good coming into the Trans-Am 1 event and though I had warmed up well I couldn't put it together in qualifying. Somehow on the start my foot slipped onto the clutch and I ended up getting a starting grid penalty. Was pretty happy I was able to keep it together mentally after that huge mistake and pressed hard to get back towards the top of the grid. Moving up from last to 4th was a ton of fun, but was really disappointed not to get my Tempest on the podium in my final race with it. Over my 4 races with the car I was able to snag 2 podium finishes and overall felt very competitive with it.

The Trans-Am 2 race I was extremely excited about after posting a low 1:14 in my morning warmup. Again though I couldn't put it together in qually, with the last lap being my best, though it included a major off in the final turn. It was good enough to get me started in 3rd and in very short order and with a mistake up front I found myself in the lead. Each lap I was able to build the gap as we approached the pit window. At this point the wheels fell off... I know I practiced pitting in the AM and couldn't create a penalty no matter how fast I went so I felt confident flying down the pits... An extra 10 seconds later I found myself losing 9 spots and fighting through the pack. The frustration got to me after completely giving up the huge lead I had amassed and a big spin coming onto the front straight stopped my progress towards the front. For the 3rd of the 4 races I had the speed to contend for the win but was unable to get there. Very sad to have to give up this car, especially with only 1 podium finish to show for it.

As @Sick Cylinder said above the Toyota 7 is an extreme drive. My morning pace was pretty comparable to what the top drivers were getting and after a disappointing result at Willow I focused up for this race. Solid qualifying effort saw me in third and I was able to hang with the top 2 for a few laps. A great battle with @SmileyWRX left me in 4th. I pitted slightly early to go for the undercut. It seemed like he was never going to pit and I was getting nervous. When he finally did I see him pulling out as I fly into turn 1. The gap was tight but I was able to hang on for my first podium finish in the Toyota 7.

Great racing this week, hoping to find some more success in the new cars.

Also will try to get a video posted up of the Toyota 7 race from Deep Forrest.

I'm sorry to say that I have to resign from the weekly race. I'm selling my playstation in order to get some real work done, not selling gt6 though, and I'll let my daughter use my user, so I might join you from time to time. Just need to make some radical change to focus on a few things that actually pays money! And with that all I have to say i, Go Europe!!! ;)

Sorry to see you go DVArt / Danielsspel - come back if and when you can and maybe do one last race on Sunday for old times sake if you haven't sold your PS3 by then.

I'll stick around to see the progress, and if I have to I'll use my daughters ps3 to race. just just remember that they will use my user, so it's probably not me who is online when online. And if I write anything mean or un understandable it's either the teenager who thinks she she's so cool or the six year old who doesn't know English! :D

Next Round 6 Motegi Twin Ring East - Don't Forget to change Cars

Please Note: The Toyota 7 will still be untuned, but I have decided with effect from round 6 to limit the power to 700bhp - this should make the car slightly easier to drive and therefore improve the racing.

Round 6 Race Programme at Motegi Twin Ring East

Race 1 = Trans Am 1: 350bhp Maximum, 812kg Minimum (15 Minutes)

Race 2 = Trans Am 2: Maximum Tune (15 Minutes)

Race 3 = Can Am by Toyota 7: Tuning Prohibited and power limited to 700bhp
